Having been closely associated with director's Mani Ratnam, K. Balachander, Bharathiraaja, Shankar, Kamal Haasan, P. C. Sreeram, Priyadarshan and Ramgopal Varma, H. Sridhar was a towering icon when it came to mixing music.
H. Sridhar was the recipient of the prestigious President's Gold Medal (National Award for best Audiography) four times for the films 'Mahanadhi', 'Dil Se', 'Lagaan' and 'Kannathil Muthamilttal'.
Sridhar was so talented and was sought after by the likes of George Harrision (a member of the famous Beatles), Pandit Ravi Shankar, Zakir Hussain and John McLaughlin to mix music for their albums.
This true talent will surely be missed by the music fraternity.

In the early Surabhi interview on ARR - he had mentioned about ARR's music. What is it that made it 'sound' and feel different.

Aamir Khan was deeply in sorrow when news reached him that sound engineer H. Shridhar is no more. Shridhar had won the national award four times and is well known for his long association with ace music director AR Rahman.
The late sound engineer had worked for several of Aamir's films including
Aamir Khan
Rangeela, Lagaan, and Dil Chahatha Hai. He was working for Aamir's yet to be released film Gajini even a few hours before his death. Shridhar died due to cardiac arrest in his sleep. Aamir flew down to Chennai to offer his condolences to the bereaved family.
 RIP
