இவர் சாய் என்ற தன் பெயரையும் தமன் என்று மாற்றிக் கொண்டு `சிந்தனை செய்' படத்தின் மூலம் களத்தில் இறங்கியிருக்கிறார். இனி தமனின் பேட்டி.

உங்களோடு நடிச்ச ஐந்து பேரும் சினிமாவுல முன்னணிக்கு வந்துவிட, இந்த ஐந்து வருடங்களாக உங்களை மட்டும் எங்கேயும் பார்க்க முடியலையே. என்னாச்சு?

``எங்க குடும்பமே ஒரு இசைக் குடும்பம். அப்பா சிவகுமார் டிரம்ஸ் நல்லா வாசிப்பார். அம்மா சாவித்திரி கச்சேரிகள்ல நிறைய பாடினவங்க. `காஞ்சிப் பட்டுடுத்தி கஸ்தூரிப் பொட்டு வைத்து...'னு பிரபலமான பாடலைப் பாடியது என்னோட அம்மாதான். இதனால சின்ன வயசிலிருந்தே பெரிய இசையமைப்பாளராக வரணுங்கிறதுதான் என்னோட லட்சியமாக இருந்துச்சு. ஒரு டிரம்மராகத்தான் சினிமாவுக்குள்ளே நுழைஞ்சேன். அப்பதான் `பாய்ஸ்' படத்துக்கு புரொஃபஷனல் டிரம்மர் வேணும்னு என் நண்பரான ஷங்கரோட அக்கா பையன் பப்பு சொன்னதால நடிக்க வந்தேன். அப்புறம் அஞ்சு வருஷம் இசையில நிறைய கத்துகிட்டேன். ராஜ் கோட்டி சார், ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மான், ஹாரிஸ் ஜெயராஜ், மணிஷர்மா, கீரவாணி, தேவி ஸ்ரீ பிரசாத், தீனா என எல்லா பெரிய இசையமைப்பாளர்கள்கிட்ட டிரம்மராக, கீ-போர்ட் ப்ளேயராக இருந்து நிறைய கத்துகிட்டேன். என் சொந்த முயற்சியில் `தால்' என்ற பெயர்ல ஸ்டூடியோ கட்டிட்டேன். இப்ப ஓரளவுக்கு மெச்சூர்டாக உணர்ந்ததும் என்னோட லட்சியமான மியூஸிக் கம்போஸிங்குக்கு வந்திட்டேன். என்னோட இசையில `சிந்தனை செய்' படம் முதலில் வெளிவருது. அடுத்ததாக ரவிவர்மனின் `மாஸ்கோவின் காவிரி', `அரிது அரிது', அடுத்ததாக ஷங்கர் தயாரிப்பிலான `ஈரம்' படம் உருவாகிட்டு இருக்கு.''

சினிமா பேக்ரவுண்ட் இருந்ததால ஈஸியா இசையமைக்க வந்துட்டீங்களா?

``எங்கப்பா எனக்கு பதிமூணு வயசாகும் போதே 1995-ல் தவறிப் போயிட்டாங்க. எங்க குடும்பமே அதிர்ச்சியில உறைஞ்சு போச்சு. தனிப்பெண்ணாக எங்கம்மா குடும்பத்தைக் காப்பாத்த பட்ட கஷ்டம் கொஞ்சமில்ல. அதனால எட்டாவது படிக்கும்போதே குடும்பத்துக்காக படிப்பை உதறிட்டு எனக்குத் தெரிஞ்ச டிரம்ஸ் வாசிக்க கிளம்பிட்டேன். சுமார் மூவாயிரம் கச்சேரிகள்ல `சாதகப் பறவைகள்' குழு மூலம் டிரம்ஸ்வாசிச்சிருக்கேன். என்னோட வொர்க்கைப் பார்த்து கங்கை அமரனோட ட்ரூப் இன்சார்ஜ் அஜீபால், கங்கை அமரன்கிட்ட சேர்த்துவிட்டார். அப்பதான் வெங்கட்பிரபு, எஸ்.பி.பி.சரண், ப்ரேம்ஜி, யுகேந்திரன், விஜய் யேசுதாஸ், தேவன் இவங்க சேர்ந்து `ஜெனரேஷன்' என்ற ட்ரூப்பை நடத்தினாங்க. இவங்களோடு டிரம்மராக உலகத்தைச் சுத்தினேன். இப்படி கஷ்டப்பட்டு உழைச்சுதான் `தால்' ஸ்டூடியோவை சொந்தமா கட்டினேன்.''

His 'Aridhu Aridhu' looks quite good. Hooked on to 'Kanavugal Edhuvarai'. A peppy number crooned by Benny Dayal. He has done a good job inspite of of the fact that his voice being heavily synthesized.

If you pay close attention, the Raja-ish feel to the numbers may have been done intentionally. Kuthu Kuthu seriously reminds me of ooru vittu. :roll:

Like wise first interlude in pachai kili has shades of Rahman's ottagathai kattiko .. while the song on the whole has a U1 stamp all over it

Nevertheless, Thaman is certainly promising .. way to go ..

While there are one hit wonder folks who are showcased in the media this kid definitely deserves due credit for delivering back to back hits

heard Paniye song, the song is very good and IRish in ludes, rthym and even in tune?. Looks like S.Thaman is heavily inspired by none other than Ilaiyaraja's Punnaigaiyil minsaram (Barathan) song, I mean the pattern.

I love paniye song. Nicely sung. Thaman teases with IR style violin backings when female lead sings "Maalai mayangidum" and from second interlude completely surrenders to IR's orchestration style. The way second interlude ends is typical IR style. Hope this song is picturised well.

Loved the orchestration from another song in thillaalangadi. Forgot the song name.

Siddharth is playing the lead role in 'Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi', a movie directed by debutant Balaji, who hogged the limelight with a talent hunt for aspiring filmmakers on a television channel. And music for the bilingual (Tamil-Telugu) is by Thaman, who is now a top composer in Tollywood.

Thrilled about working with Siddharth in a Kollywood venture after 'Boys', Thaman wanted his pal to sing an interesting number in 'Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi'. The actor, who was happy to accept the offer, crooned it like a seasoned singer, sources in the know say.

And it is official! 'Kalasala...' from Simbu's forthcoming 'Osthi' is already much-expected by fans who are eagerly looking forward to the audio launch on October 6. This track is an item number featuring Simbu, Sonu Sood and Mallika Sherawat and its original, 'Munni Badnam Hui...' from 'Dabangg' was a smashing hit.

It was earlier widely speculated that Shruti Haasan will croon this song, however, sources close to the unit had rubbished that and revealed that a voice that will set a rage among rural and urban masses will croon this peppy number and guesses were made on who will sing this track. It is now official that LR Easwari along with T Rajendar have lent their voices for 'Kalasala...'!

Not just that, those who have heard the number vouch that it will be the song of the year throughout TN. The songs for 'Osthi' have been composed by Thaman.

'Osthi Maamey...' crooned by Baba Sehgal, Rahul Nambiar, Ranjith and Naveen Madhav is a kuthu number penned by Vaali.

'Unnale Unnale...' is sung by the music composer Thaman itself along with Rita. Lyrics are penned by Yuga Bharathi.

'Neduvaali...' is by Rahul Nambiar again, who has crooned the song with Mahathi. Lyrics are by Yuga Bharathi.

'Pondati...' is penned and sung by Silambarasan aka Simbu. He goes 'Pondati, adi nee dhaney en sweetie, will love you till you're a paati, thevayilla vappatti'!

The Businessman - audio!

The audio launch of The Businessman will take place on December 23rd. It has been confirmed now that the audio launch of this film in all the three languages in which it is to be released – Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam – will happen on the same day.

The film’s music director Thaman has said that the songs of The Businessman have come out very well. It stars Mahesh Babu, who is looking to expand his career prospects in Tamil and Malayalam films industries after an envious career in Tollywood and Kajal Agarwal.

The Businessman is directed by Puri Jagannath.

Trailer of actor Siddharth's upcoming offering, "Love Failure" seems to have caught the fancy of the online community. The trailer has clocked over 1,20,000 hits since it went online a day ago. Actor Siddharth just cannot stop raving about it online. Touted to be a romantic comedy, "Love Failure" is based on a short film and to be directed by debutant Balaji Mohan. Starring Siddharth and Amala Paul in the lead roles, the film is being produced by Y Not Studios. SS Thaman is composing the music for the film.
