But not another gangster movie. I dont know when people are going to come out of this gangster mania. I remember once Selva in a interview(long back) had said, he wants to do a thriller set in a village background. Maybe something like that

I thought Selvaraghavan and Arvind Krishna are not in good terms after AK worked with Gautham Menon for PachaikiLi

I read somewhere Selva is planning to do hindi remake of 7/G with Vivek Oberoi and Pudhupettai with Ajay Devgan :roll:

Vikram & Selvaraghavan team up!

It’s confirmed Vikram had a two hour meeting with ace director Selvaraghavan, when he was in Chennai for the success meet of Kanthaswamy.

Remember, Vikram is away somewhere near Mumbai shooting for the climax scenes of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan.

Well, it looks like the project which has been in the pipeline for the last two years will take off sometime in November.

Sources close to Vikram have confirmed that in future, the actor will do two films at the same time and will not be stuck to a single project for over a year.

It clearly means Vikram will do director Vikram Kumar’s 24, which will start as soon as Mani’s film shoot is over by September end. He is likely to start Selvaraghavan film in the first week of November.

When contacted Selvaraghavan said: “Yes, I will be starting a film with Vikram shortly. We have already worked out the script, casting and other details are being worked out.”

Chiyaan Vikram is on a roll. After reeling out a hit with Kanthaswamy, Vikram is now completing his long in the making Mani Ratnam’s Raavan.

A little birdie tells us that Vikram has signed a record deal with producer Kanakaratna Ramesh, making him one of the highest paid actors in Tamil cinema.

Vikram has given ‘Tatkal’ dates to Ramesh to produce an entertainer which will be directed by Selvaraghavan. The film will be shot in Ladakh, Mumbai and Goa and most likely have Subramaniapuram Swathi playing the heroine.

The shoot of this untitled film is likely to start by the end of the month, after the star completes his Mani Ratnam film, by October 22. He will be having a new look for the film, for which shooting has to start by the end of the month, as Ladakh would be covered by snow by December.

While there were strong speculations that Vikram would first don the greasepaint for Vikram Kumar’s venture and then move on to Selvaraghavan’s project, it now looks like Vikram and Selvaraghavan could team up first. There are also reports of director Selvaraghavan shelving his Malai Nerathu Mayakkam (MNM) to accommodate Vikram.

The actor, in all likelihood, will complete Mani Ratnam’s Raavan and will move on to this yet-to-be named venture that is to be produced by Kanakaratna Films. Shooting is expected to kick start later this month and move on to various locations including Ladakh and Mumbai.

‘Chiyaan’ Vikram signed with biggest deal ever

Maybe, ‘Kanthaswamy’ would’ve got a big collection in box office, but actor Vikram has indirectly accepted that the film hasn’t been fair enough in his career. He has mounted all his hopes on his upcoming bilingual film ‘Raavana’ directed by Manirathnam. The Tamil version features him in the role of protagonist while on the other opposite role in Hindi.

His portions will be completed by 22nd October and the actor has given dates to Kanagarathna Movies Ramesh for the untitled film to be directed by Selvaraghavan. The entire film will be shot across various locales of India including Ladahk, Goa and Mumbai. Tentatively, ‘Subramaniapuram’ fame Swathi has been roped in for starring opposite him in female lead. Nothing has been revealed about the film’s storyline or nature of it.

[tscii:d3a716891d]It is official, that Subramaniapuram fame, Swathi is going to be Vikram’s heroine in Kanakaratna Ramesh produced Selvaraghavan directed untitled new film.

‘Colors’ Swathi as she is known in Telugu after hosting a television programme by that name is in Chennai for signing the film and holding discussions with the director.

Selva in a way is sort of mentor for her as she played Trisha's sister in his Telugu super hit Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule in which Trisha and Venkatesh were in the lead.

Swathi who was flooded with offers in Tamil after the runaway success of Subramaniapuram is very choosy, but Selva’s script convinced her of doing this untitled film where she has a meaty role.

Himesh Reshammiya made his debut in Kollywood with the musical score for grand ‘Dasavatharam’. The film’s musical score made a great business across the global market and he had then tuned melodies for Bharathiraja’s ‘Bommalaattam’.

Now, it’s his turn to make his comeback in Tamil film industry with Vikram’s next magnum opus with director Selvaraghavan. According to the buzzes heard on air, Selvaraghavan wants to experiment differently this time with his untitled film.

The filmmaker has been planning to rope in a Hollywood actress to star opposite Vikram in female lead while ‘Subramaniapuram’ fame Swathi will be spotted in a prominent role. Yeah. Selvah has roped in Ismail Darbar of Devdas fame for this movie. :) Official news was out yesterday. Shooting has been commenced in LAdakh on 19th and is in progress now.

Selvaraghavan has said his forthcoming film with Vikram in the lead role will be a ‘commercial thriller’. He also denied reports that the script was inspired by veteran K Balachandar’s ’47 Naatkal’, which was released three decades ago.

“It is a thriller and I have added commercial elements to the script,” The filmmaker said and admitted that a Hollywood actress would be a part of the cast. “A search is on. I will let you know once things are finalised,” he said.

Asked him to tell more about the yet-to-be-titled movie whose first schedule was shot in and around Ladakh, Selvaraghavan said, “The script would attract all sections of the audiences. More than 70 per cent of the film would be shot in the United States.” According to sources, Vikram plays a foreign return who marries a village girl (Swathy).
