What I meant there was the Character and not Mohan :) The character had a dignified blend of maturity, understanding and being practical. And absolutely realistic. One of the very unique portrayals IMO (credit obviously goes to MR) where as Karthik's roles was nothing new or unique.

While I agree that if not for IR,SPB or Surendhar Mike Mohan would hardly be remembered. For instance who remembers Ramki? I remember awhile back I went through a spree of Mohan movies of which my favourites were "Mouna Raagam" and "Idhaya Kovil" but of course as hubbers have rightly pointed out the songs in these two movies were beautiful and proved to be evergreen. I also enjoyed "Mella Thirantha Kadavu", "Payanangal Mudividhillai", "Rettai Vaal Kuruvi", "Uthaya Geetham"...I can't say I didn't like his acting as well, he was good at acting as the romantic.

I once read that he was at a time considered a cheap substitute for all the movies Kamal turned down...I will try my best to find the article in case any of you keen for my need for authenticity.

Anyways I hope he comes back in a respectable role such as father, uncle, even villain if need be...though i remember last reading he only wants to be hero....sigh...maybe it will be excuse to have more evergreen songs associated with this actor.
