Oh, ok. I've heard Shankar mention about this in almost all his TV interviews. That he initially wanted to make films along the lines of Mahendran's films, and he had written a sensitive ("melliya uNarvugaLOda") "heroine-oriented" script called 'azhagiya kuyilE.'

Anyway, what's jaw-dropping about this titular connection is how "obvious" the choice of the title (presumably, of course) has been in both cases. Gautham's film too seems to be a "heroine-oriented" film (with Sameera Reddy in the lead), and apparently Gautham had penned this script when he was 19 years old!

Like S. Ve. Shekar says in one of his stage plays ('alwA'), "question paper leak AyirukkumO?" (Side note: The way he says "pinju peddalukku" is hilarious!)

B's disciple was 'C', who, mostly, was always the hero in his movies.

'D' was assistant to 'C', and one of his most famous movies of had a hero and heroine introduced in the same movie by B

D made his next movie with a title conveying to the world indirectly that he is set to pair with his heroine in that movie in real life too.

'E' was assistant director to 'D' and he directed his first movie with the aforementioned actress as the heroine. He too named his second movie along the similar lines of second movie of 'D' and he was more succesful than D in his intentions

Mammootty has reprised Inspector Balram (the same character SahyarAj played in Kadamai KaNNiyam KattuppAdu) thrice. Same with the PalakkAd Iyer from CBI Diary Kurippu.
Mohanlal has reprised (in sequels) SethumAdhavan from Kireedom in ChengOl. And also reprised MangaLassery NeelakaNdan (Devasurm) in RavaNaprabhu. He also plays MangaLassery Karthikeyan, aptly named son of NeelakaNdan in RavaNaprabhu. Recently Jacky alias Sagar from IrupathAm noottANdu was reprised again in a movie also titled Jacky alias Sagar. Unfortunately starting from RavaNaprabhu it has been all downhill.

If you are asking about straight double roles Mammootty has done Balram vs. Taradas (code name for "Here is my opportunity to see Katrina Kaif in the skin. The script is absolute nonsense, but I am in.") and Annan Thampi as pointed out. I am sure digging will reveal a few more. Mohanlal has done double roles the best of which is probably MayAmayooram. A lovely movie with both Revathy and Shobana.

It is termed to be a failure when compared to Dolby and DTS. Thats y no DVD has a SDDS option in it. However the output is really good. It came as 12 track o/p where as DOLBY, DTS where 6 tracks initially.
