Digression...
Whether Raja is going to score for this movie or not, the title of this movie is not a big favourite to me:-( The same goes for the other Kamal venture 10 avatar. Can't these guys get any new name for their movies, why dig deep into archives?

If they can't be even creative enough to put together a new title, how much creativity can you expect in the content? araichcha mAvu + new technology is all one can expect. Same goes for music too - remix or copy notes + ultra modern equipment to give "sounds" is what we're going to get...

We can understand if some 3rd grade producer / artists do such things, but difficult to digest a colossal talent like Kamal falling into this rote...(சதி லீலாவதின்னு முன்னும் இதே வேலை செய்திருக்கிறார்...)

2) Even if its going to be a contemporary movie, just because "mandram vandha" sat well on top of Cheeni Kum, there is no guarantee that SKV/KC songs will sit on top of *any* modern movie
3) Like i said before, these songs will never work up north but thats just IMO...

Yes the movie making is in progress and MT vasudevan nair is also associated with the movie.
Interestingly there is an older version of the movie 'pazhassiraja' released somewhere in the late 60's or early 70's which was scored by RKSekhar Father of ARRahman :)

India 24 hours was originally a work of a team of professional photographers who captured images of India chronicling the diversity of this country through lenses and published as a book. Later on it was made into a docu-feature for which Raaja scored the BGM and was relayed in DD.
The VDO CD of the documentry comes along with the book it seems and Iam yet to get hold of it :( This is a dream for me for the past 5 years or more

God knows how IR reportedly got "impressed" for this story..

Looking at the 3 heroes- 3 heroines, love story etc.., I am 75% sure this new film is also going to be another kodumai...

Sorry Shankar! ARR himself has said in an interview that he doesnt listen to the storyline or script of the movie. He just needs the scenes preceding and succeding a song sequence for him to compose the songs. Apart from that he is shrewd enough to pick and team up with good and successful directors/production houses, which definitely is not one Raaja needs to learn from him. Because he has given huge hits to miserable directors/Uppuma companies - movies which broke records only for his music.

And a director may be finding it easy to convey his story in a narrative form in direct to a person and may fail miserably while presenting it on the celluloid. Thinking of the films that Raaja has composed in post 2000's it is very clearly evident that all these movies had a different storyline while it was not well presented in the screen. That aspect of a director can never be judged by Raaja or ARR. Look at the fate of SOK and ATM :) or even tens and more of hindi films composed by ARR- post 2000's - almost 80% of the movies he composed were flops in boxoffice. The only hits that I remember are RDB, Sivaji.

Raaja has nothing to learn from ARR. Period!

Raja was never choosy in eighties or nineties post 2000 !

But now it is more noticed because of the very less number of films he does nowadays. In eighties, he did almost everything that came his way. So crappy films got suppressed from view by classy films then.

The problem is that he always has his own cage to dwell ( also his advantage ). He never cares for what the people feel, his friends feel etc etc.

With a lot of time in his hands now, he can possibly wait for good scripts, take time to bring out the best songs for that script etc. But he is just like natural rain ( as told by editor of Kumudam some years back ). It will some times pour, some times drizzle, some times clouds will gather but disappoint etc..never care if it is excess or meagre..never cares if people want or not want..it just wants to be itself..natural..a very rare quality..but for fans like us.., a limitation :)

At least he is able to give great numbers in Malayalam... Kaiyetha from Vinodayatra was an outstanding composition. He also has lots of scope to score in Mal movies...with Satyan's screenplay and background of Pazhassi Raja (historical).

Mayakannadi is one exception.. Konjam Konjam is one song I would say that has a great potential to become a hot, but didn't due to the fate of the movie in the box office.

If Kamal didn't / couldn't go with IR for Marmayogi, I would be disappointed, but the consolation for us would be that if the movie turns into a money spinner.. then Kamal can start of his magnum opus Marudhanayagam.
