Have a few friends from those institutions. When the whole world is moving forward, its a shame that we have such regressive institutions. But there was a strike almost an year back and I heard its a lot better now. My friends used to tell me that they always found ways to sneak out and do all sorts of things. Very valid point feddy. As someone who studied in a private engg. college in Chennai I think it is the kalaachaara indictment that is more important than the targeting of Jeppiar owned institutions. Yes, the situation is extreme in these places but as always that just makes them an easier target - in this case for the media.
When I went to college all the girls sat in the front of the bus, then if there were professors they would sit (kaRpukku kaavalaam, orE sirippaa varum - especially when some of them are far more flirtatious than some of the students) then all the guys would take their places. There wouldn't have been a metal bar for the red line to point to, but the divide was implicit. And it isnt like the students themselves are not to blame for this to some extent. If someone dared to sit with the girls, pasanga kalaichu galeej paNNiduvanga. I just think its unhealthy.

MRR at this brilliant best! :thumbsup: chance-e illa! :notworthy: This role was tailor made for him especially the "pre-leprosy" phase! Though completely overshadowed by MRR, one shouldn't forget Chandra babu here. Boy! look at him especially the scene where he jumps from the stair case straight into the couch. Watching more of Chandra babu in Ratha Kaneer, I'm shocked to see that Prabhu Deva made a "E adhichaan copy" of his style/mannersims and made a career out of it! :shock:

RathaKaneer, a timeless classic, can be revisited umpteen number of times for MRR (of course) & Chandra Babu (as well)! 8-)

Talking about the older b/w films, besides the "Big 3" (MGR and the 2 Ganesan's), there are this whole slew of character atistes/comedians who were just brilliant as well.

Ranga Rao, Balaiyaah, Thangavel, MR Radha, Nagesh, Manorama, Chandra babu, C.K. Saraswathi, Bandari Bhai etc... Old is gold! 8-)
