NITHARI (Uttar Pradesh): Two more bags full of human remains were recovered on Tuesday from the drains near the Noida house of businessman Moninder Singh Pandher, accused of sexually abusing and killing several children along with his manservant Surendra.
With Tuesday's findings, the total of such bags recovered since Saturday has gone up to 42.
"We have been cleaning the drains for the fourth day in a row. Today, our experts found two plastic bags full of bio-medical remains," said a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) source.
"The human remains have been sent to the laboratory for post mortem and DNA extraction," he said.
On Monday, CBI recovered several plastic bags full of bones, intestines and other body parts along with clothes, bangles and slippers from the sewage drains.
The bags were found from two drains, one behind Pandher's D-5 bungalow in Sector 31 of Noida and another a few yards away from the main gate.
Moninder Singh and his domestic help Surendra were arrested on December 29 for the murders of children, who had gone missing from Nithari village nearby.
Over 30 officers, consisting of sleuths from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and forensic experts, are busy piecing together the clues found so far. The case was handed to them last Thursday.
On January 13, CBI experts found three more skulls from the drains taking the total number of skulls recovered so far to 20.
Though officially the number of skulls found has been put at 20, there could be more, say sources.
Over the last two years, 38 children had gone missing from Nithari, home to over 25,000 people, mostly migrants from West Bengal who earn their livelihood by pulling rickshaws, working as daily-wage labour or as domestic help in the nearby residential colonies.

Indian police fear that as many as 38 children and young women may have been killed by a rich businessman and his servant accomplice in a two-year orgy of sexual abuse and murder in a leafy suburb of New Delhi.
The victims — impoverished children and women allegedly lured to the house by Kohli with the promise of sweets or a job — were dumped in the drain after being sexually assaulted and killed.
The final figure could be much higher, as 38 people are missing from Nithari village.
A rickshaw driver who saw the room where the victims were apparently dismembered told a television channel that "it looked like an operating theatre, full of blood and knives of all kinds".
The victims' families – migrants who work as drivers, cooks and maids in the homes of the rich in Noida – are furious at the way they were treated by Noida police. "They didn't take our complaints seriously because we're poor," said Samir Sarkar, whose 18-year-old daughter has been identified as a victim.
The murders and police inaction have appalled the nation. On Wednesday, six police officers were sacked for failing to make any effort to trace the missing people.
Pandher and Kohli have been taken to a forensic science laboratory in western India where they will be given a "truth serum". The use of such drugs – which are meant to render suspects incapable of lying – is banned in many countries but is permitted in India.
Kohli, according to the police, is mentally ill and has confessed to sexually abusing and killing 10 children and five young women.
Pandher is harder to fathom. He comes from an influential family in Punjab and his friends are stunned at his alleged transformation from a suburban businessman into a mass murderer.
Known to friends as "Goldy", he has been described by schoolfriends as "cheerful and jovial". Estranged from his wife, he lived alone, with only Kohli in the house.
The murders highlight a broader problem largely ignored by the government.
A 2004 report by the National Human Rights Commission said that 45,000 children go missing every year in India. They are rarely traced – because the police make no effort to find them.

Moninder Singh and Surender Koli, the accused in the Nithari serial killings, were beaten up by an angry crowd inside the court premises here on Thursday. The incident happened when they were being taken away after production by the Central Bureau of Investigation. The two, whose CBI custody has been extended by 14 days, were later taken to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi for a medical check-up.
Suspended
While three police officers have been placed under suspension on charges of negligence, the Ghaziabad police have registered a case against six people.
Moninder and Surender were leaving the court of Special Judicial Magistrate Sapna Mishra around 11 a.m. when the crowd suddenly attacked them outside the courtroom on the first floor of the building. The local police personnel and CBI officers tried to intervene but were outnumbered.
Rain punches
The assailants, who broke some windowpanes and furniture, rained punches and blows on Moninder and Surender while dragging them to the ground floor. The crowd kept beating Moninder till he fainted. The police personnel later spirited away both the accused to the court lockup to save them from the crowd.
The accused were then taken to hospital under heavy security. While Surender was discharged after first aid, Moninder — who sustained injuries all over the body — was kept under observation for a while and later discharged.
Reacting to the incident, CBI Director Vijay Shankar said it was the duty of the State Government to ensure full protection to the accused. The CBI Deputy Inspector General had on Wednesday written to Ghaziabad Senior Superintendent of Police Navin Arora and also spoken with him over telephone requesting him for adequate security.

Later on Thursday evening, Deputy Inspector General (Meerut) Shailendra Pratap Singh held a meeting with the SSP and other senior officers to discuss the next course. On the basis of an initial report prepared by the City Superintendent of Police, Station Officer Rakesh Paliwal, in-charge Outpost Collectorate Somprakash and Local Intelligence Unit officer Iksha Ram were placed under suspension. The City SP has been directed to furnish a detailed report within three days.
Ghaziabad Bar Association president Nahar Singh Yadav later refuted charges that lawyers were involved in the attack on the accused.
"It is true that some lawyers raised slogans against the accused but they did not beat them. In fact, we tried to rescue the two from the mob," he said.
