வழக்கமான குத்தாட்டப் பாடல்களையும். மைக் பிடித்து மேடையில் பாடும் நிகழ்ச்சிகளையும் வெறுத்து ரிமோட்டை க்ளிக்கிக்கொண்டே வரும்போது எதேச்சையாக மதியம் ஜெயா டிவியில் கண்ட ‘வடிவேலுவோடு ’தூள்’ பாடகர் மாணிக்கவினாயகமும் டைரக்டர் மனோபாலாவும் தொகுப்பாளரும் இணைந்து நிகழ்த்திய உரையாடல் தொகுப்பு...வடிவேலு பற்றிய ஒருவரது எண்ணங்களை கட்டாயம் மாற்றியிருக்கும்.அசந்து போனேன்!!!

தெளிவான கருத்துக்களோடு படப்பிடிப்பில் நடந்த சுவையான சம்பவங்களையும் மனோபாலாவோடு சேர்ந்து சிரிப்பு வெடிகளோடு(தீபாவளி அல்லவா?) விவரித்தவிதம் நன்றாக இருந்தது. தான் வல்கரான வசனங்களை பேசுவதை தவிர்த்து விடுவதையும் அக்கரையோடு சொன்னார்.
பாம்பாட்டி ஷூட்டிங்குக்கு கொண்டு வந்த பாம்பு பல் பிடுங்கியதுதான் என்று காட்ட தன் கையில் கொத்தவிட்டு சாய்ந்த கதையை நடித்தே காட்டியது, இன்னும் இதுபோன்ற பல காமடிகளை இருவரும் குலுங்க குலுங்க சொல்லியது எல்லாமே இன்னுமொரு படம் எடுக்கத் தேவையான சம்பவங்களைக்கொண்டது.

இது எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் மேலே.....அவர் எம்ஜியார் சிவாஜி பாடல்களைப் பாடுவார் என்பது மட்டுமே நமக்குத்தெரியும். ஆனால் இந்தளவுக்குப் பாடுவார் என்பது கண்டு கேட்டு மகிழ்ந்தே போனேன்.
மைக் பிடித்து மேடையில் பாடும் பாடகர்கள் எல்லோரும் முன்னால் ஒரு ஸ்டாண்டில் பாட்டுப் புத்தகத்தை வைத்துக்கொண்டு பாடுவார்கள்.
ஆனால் இவரோ..? மந்திரவாதி வெறும் காற்றில் கைகளை மாறிமாறி வீசி ரிப்பன், பூக்கள், புறா என்று வரவழைப்பது போல், தன் நினைவுக் காற்றிலிருந்து டக்டக்கென்று சிவாஜி பாட்டு, எம்ஜியார் பாட்டு என்று சுருதி சுத்தமாகவும் அட்ஷர சுத்தமாகவும் ஆர்கெஸ்ட்ராவோடும் இணைந்து, இசைந்து பாடியது கண்டு நிஜமாகவே அசந்துதான் போனேன்!!!!

அதிலும் குறிப்பாக ஒரு பாடல். ‘மண் குடிசை வாசலென்றால் தென்றல் வர மறுத்திடுமா..’ என்ற வரிகளைப் பாடிவிட்டு உடனே, ‘கிணுகிணு..கிணுகிணு..கிணுகிணு..’என்று அதன் பிஜியெம்மையும்(பின்ன்ணி இசை) சேர்த்து பாடினாரே பார்க்கலாம்!!
எந்த அளவுக்கு அப்பாடல்களையெல்லாம் அக்காலத்தில் ரசித்திருப்பார் என்பது, என்னைப்போல், வல்லியம்மாவைப் போல் சிறுவயதில் பள்ளிவிட்டு வந்ததும் காதுகளைப் பிய்த்து ரேடியோவின் ஸ்பீக்கரில் ஒட்டிவைத்துவிடும் பிரகஸ்பதிகளுக்கு நன்றாகவே புரியும்.

அதுவும் அக்காலத்தில் வசதியில்லாத வடிவேலு எங்காவது ரேடியோ சத்தம் கேட்டால் அங்கு போய் நின்று கொள்வாராம். வெறும் கேள்வி ஞானத்தில்தான் வளர்ந்தது அவரது பாடும் திறமை.அவர் பாடிய பாடல்களில் நான் விரும்பிக் கேட்பது, ஒரு படத்தில் அம்மனை ஊஞ்சலில் வைத்து பாடும் தாலாட்டுப் பாடல், ‘சந்தனப் பொட்டு வச்சு...’ அழகான மெலோடி!!

Vadivelu had a bad stint in the past one year I say. For some reason, he lost the role in Padikadhavan with Dhanush (maybe for the same reason that you mentioned :) ) but I thought if he had done that comedy sequence it would have been another winner ! To be honest, I was thinking of Vadivelu while watching the comedy track in Padikadhavan.

Udhayanidhi also mentioned in his interview that Vadivelu hardly gives anything more than 5 days for call sheet, but for Aadhvan he has given 40 days. He is not that busy at the moment, but with Vivek's speech at the recent events, Vadivelu will be back to top !
