Hello Sir... you can only see the Sri Lankan army killing the Tamils .. what do you say for the LTTE's genocide against Muslims in East (BTW, hope you know that Muslims are also Tamils in Sri Lanka). 100s have been murdered during the last two weeks and thousands displaced. I work for a development organisation and I have first hand information about the bloody murders the LTTE is committing these days. They are planning for the next genocide against mulims in Kinniya and then Vaazhaichenai during next two weeks.
Until there are blind - foolish supporters like you, we will not see an end to the war. WIth these kind of barbaric activities dont ever imagine that you will have a separate nation called "bloody eezham".

It is sad that srilankan army and government is indulging in such a dastard attack on innocent civilians.......... it seems the present srilankan leadership is dominated by hardiners who do not
intend to resolve issues but want to fiercely "eliminate" issues.
.. what do you say for the LTTE's genocide against Muslims in East (BTW, hope you know that Muslims are also Tamils in Sri Lanka).
If what Roshan says as above is true... then it is big problem as well. ...............albeit i think they must have got a geniune reason to target them..
After 9/11, as we all know it has become difficult for any one to justify any kind of violence ..so with LTTE continuing to be a single key representative of Tamils infact would be a drawback.
What probably needed at the moment, is an alternate organization or even credible individuals representing Tamils who will take up the issues in international media and always keep the issue in limelight.
Fierce diplomacy and gethering world sympathy could alone help us to reach our goal ..in this changed Global-Political scenario for atleast the next few years

Thanks Kumanan. Nice thread. Every single person can post their comments.
I feel sorry for the Tamil YOung Girls who were massacred by Sri Lankan Army. I think all girls were 9-12 years old. More than 60 girls were killed and more than 120 girls were injured. Sri Lankan army should stopd doing this to the innocent people. Tamil people should get the freedom and rights. Tamils are also HUMAN. i hope GOD'll BLESS THEM!!!

We can continue talking that way but will earn nothing being vindictive. LTTE was formed to oppose all the blunders that SL government commit. Not all the SL muslims are tamil, most of them are sinhalese and they're always with sinhalese. Muslims worked against LTTE and tamil many times in different ways in the past. There're a lot of muslim joined government army, not LTTE. They just want to fight against LTTE and Tamil and won't ask government for their equality but join army and kill tamil people?
There're more blind people in the world. Government has the media to disguise all their blunders and commit more crimes and project LTTE as terrorist. We all know the recent process came to the boundary and was impeded by this government who never want to give equal rights to tamil. Now they can give any excuses for attacking these kids but why do you lie to other international countries that army targetted LTTE's camp and not SenchOlai--which is a home for orphans  . The fact is army killed innocent kids and not LTTE but announced to the world that they killed LTTE so that other countries won't heed :? . In Sencholai only thehe kids who lost their relatives and parents live there. How pathetic and cruel this government can be??
Be honest and tell us, do LTTE kill sinhalse people? Since bloody government or sinhalese people have no guts, they take on innocent people. The fact remains, LTTE don't kill sinhalese or any innocent people. Till there're more blind people like you and countries, tamil people will get no equal rights nor eelam.

[tscii]I have to agree with Badri. Political situations such as these are highly flammable. Discussions on the Net is not going to change any individual's opinion.
Here is a letter from a political party in Malaysia - I offer this as a third, uninvolved party's viewpoint:
Malaysia's Democratic Action Party Memo to Sri Lanka President
Memorandum to His Excellency Mahinda Rajapakse, President of Sri
Lanka, from The Democratic Action Party (DAP), Malaysia, and others,
delivered to the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Malaysia at his
office on 10th August, 2006 in Kuala Lumpur.
His Excellency Mahinda Rajapakse,
President of Sri Lanka.
Your Excellency,
Sri Lankan Government and Military Should Stop Violating Ceasefire
Agreement & Return to Genuine Peace Talks.
We view with the deepest concern and sadness that the Ceasefire
Agreement of 2002 between the Sri Lanka Government and the
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) has been repeatedly and
increasingly violated by the Sri Lankan Military in recent days and
weeks, resulting in the wanton killings of civilians, particularly
in Tamil areas, and widespread destruction of socio-economic
infrastructure.
2. The execution-style killings of 17 Tamils who were the staff
members of international aid organization Action Contre Ia Faim
(Action Against Hunger) two days ago in Muttur in the northeastern
part of the country is a glaring and shocking case in point. As
Reuters news agency has reported, diplomats do not believe the Sri
Lanka Government's highly irresponsible accusation that the Tigers
were responsible for this atrocity. As Reuters has pointed out
succinctly, "Hardliners have often accused aid agencies of favoring
the ethnic Tamil minority and of backing the rebels." It is thus
clear that only the Sri Lanka military and Sinhalese political
hardliners like the JVP and JHU could have been responsible for this
crime against Humanity.
3. It is a well-known fact that since the Norwegian-brokered
ceasefire agreement of 2002, the Sri Lankan government and military
have been putting all manner of obstacles and delaying tactics in
the path of the peace process. The LTTE's proposal for the de-
escalation of the Jaffna High Security Zones (HSZs) was blocked by
the Sri Lanka establishment. More and more government promise was
not implemented. Despite this, the LTTE submitted its proposal for
an Interim Self-Governing Authority for the North-East (ISGA).
4. Meanwhile, President Chandrika Kumaratunga (from the people's
Alliance) and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremessinghe (from the United
National Party) continued to play party politics rather than resolve
the peace process issue. On November 4, 2004, the President took
over the Defence portfolio and the Prime Minister said he no longer
had control over the peace process.
5. When the December 2004 tsunami struck, the tragedy presented Sri
Lanka a golden opportunity – like Aceh in Indonesia – to achieve
lasting peace with justice. Alas, the Sri Lankan government
continued to play politics, even with the distribution of donated
tsunami aid from all over the world, with aid distribution of Tamil
affected areas being sharply discriminated against. On June 24,
2005, the Sri Lankan Government and the LTTE signed a Post-Tsunami
Operational Management Structure (PTOMS) agreement. However, thanks
to the destructive and inhumane efforts of some Sinhalese
chauvinists, the issue was taken to the Supreme Court which, on July
15 stayed its implementation. Could there be an act more cruel and
stupid towards innocent victims of the tsunami- including women,
children and the sick and elderly and the unemployed and destitute?
Imagine the utter frustration of the neglected and utterly
discriminated Tamil tsunami victims, when even tsunami aid was
politicized:
6. When you won the presidential election on November 17, 2005, you
failed to give hope to the peace process except to carry on as
usual, which was fatal, for by doing so the many violations of the
ceasefire but were multiplied.
7. The European Union (EU) on May 30, 2006 listed the LTTE as
a "terrorist organization" but went on sending its people to be part
of the Sri Lanka Monitoring
Mission (SLMM)" This was not only ridiculous and highly hypocritical
of the EU. Its stance was full of Contradictions, and it too had
descended to play petty politics.
8. It is clear from the above that ceasefire violations by the Sri
Lanka government and military, the unreality chauvinism of Sinhalese
and certain Buddhist elements and politicians, and the increasing
political contradictions and insincerity of the Sri Lanka
establishment and some international interlopers have led to the
current dangerous situation.
9. We call on you to exercise your leadership and statesmanship
immediately to (1) stop the government and military from further
violations of the ceasefire agreement, and (2) return to the
negotiating table immediately to discuss how to achieve genuine and
enduring peace with justice for all parties and communities
concerned in Sri Lanka. Any other way is the path of death,
destruction and perdition. Peace with justice is the only way.
Thank you.

Secretary- General DAP
