My sister is a left hander...i have tried writing with my left hand and it is very difficult maybe cos of my brain being left dominated...but i appreciate people who are able to write with both hands...it gives them the flexibility to write from any position and as for left handers as a whole what i can say is that at times they can benefit from certain situations that right handers are not able to comprehend.
Not sure about the pain...guess the only pain is you might be regarded as some species if your left handed due to its rarity.

Talking about left handers, there is a feeling amongst many people that left handers are quite unique and even more stylish in what they do than right handers...they also have a knack of appreciating stuff that right handers might avoid...this may be more of the left vs right brain domination though. Like rami akka said...artistic painters are a commonity amongst left handers although there are great artists who are right handers as well.

My daughter is a left hander.
She uses her left to even eat.
Nowadays, on her own,
she has changed it to right for eating alone.
Writing, picking up, and other activities all are left handed.

I'm a left hander :D :D
Its soo cool, theres only one other girl in my class that is left handed
its soo fun giving trouble for sports teachers, cos for athletics...throwing activites...you have to face the other way around and throw..and daft teachers can't even work that out...
when you play rounders (similiar to baseball) all the fielders have to shift to a side just for you
you normally get more attention if ur a left hander rather than a right hander since its odd
but i can write fairly neat with my right hand too...although it looks awfull compared to me left

i use the mouse with my right hand....and i learnt how to eat with my right hand too......
and my writting in right hand isn't that bad, but my left hand is more natural and looks neater.
usually the left hand is easier to use on the piano, well the bass notes ont he piano are easier than the treble cliff notes, but my left hand plays stronger.
typing is with both hands since we had a lesson how to touch type in year 7

I'm Right handed , and I'd bat as a left hander... 8-)
I'm part of this club.
I remember the time I first played under-13 way back in school. I wasn't a great bat and add to it being a 11 year old competing against older boys. I made it to the team because I was just one of the two chaps who batted left; and my coach was a staunch believer in the left-right combination.
Being an only-left batsman (and right in everything else) has its disadvantages. Your legside vision is not quite complete and you restrict your stronger right arm from as much movement as it is actually capable of. Your off-side is your better side. Flicks are escapist not confident. Pulls are not as well timed as the cover drives.
A rising leg-side ball is a damned nuisance (Sourav da I understand your pain).
But most pacers conservatively stick to the rule book and bowl around stumps instinctively to left-hand batsmen. Thankfully it is a much more negotiable line.
Have you guys experienced this ?

i'm a left hander but i think its easier batting and using the raquet with the right hand...well some days its easier, comes days its not...but i bat with my left hand for rounders (baseball like) on purpose so all the fielders have to move to the side a few paces...and it makes it hard for the bowler  and if they give two no balls, i'v already scored half a rounder according to the rounders laws

:) I've heard another version: "My brain has two parts: left and right. In the right nothing is left and in the left nothing is right."

PR :)
I have always felt great about being a left hander because many a times I've been noticed by others simply for this reason. I dont know how far it is true - but my nice hand writing, being a bit artistic and good at handy work - have been appreciated by others many a times and they immediately link it to my being a left hander.
So.. for me , there is only Joy and no Pains for being a lefty :D
