[tscii:37c46eeca7]Bollywood’s number one hero Aamir Khan has officially announced that he will be doing his next films with Mani Ratnam and A.R. Murugadoss, two top south Indian directors. Aamir who is a total professional has doled out dates to Mani from October 2006 though the script is not ready.
But what has caught Bollywood brat pack directors who were after him for dates completely off the guards is Aamir’s statement- “I will be doing the remake of Ghajini a Tamil film and the original director A.R.Murugadoss will be directing it”. This has caught the entire Mumbai media by surprise as Aamir has put the soft spoken Murugadoss on the same pedestal as the great Mani Ratnam!
Aamir said that he was so impressed by the script of Murugadoss and also had a word of praise for its heroine Asin whom he personally called up to congratulate for her splendid performance as Kalpana.
Now the grapevine has it that Asin is the front runner for the heroine’s role in the Hindi version. It seems that Murugadoss has also put in a word to Aamir and the actor is reported to have said that he no problem with her being the heroine. The other contenders are Priety Zinta and Priyanka Chopra and a host of other top girls.
The Hindi producer of Ghajini is yet to be finalized thougha lot of Mumbai based corporates are willing to fund it. The film will start rolling from January 2007. Meanwhile the buzz is that Asin is not signing new Tamil films as she wants to keep her dates free for that dream role with Mr Aamir Khan which is her big ticket to Bollywood.
