Either KB didnt know that the world is expecting this album or VS didnt know that KB movie usually carry good songs. Big let down.

Let me guess. KB went to VS and asked him to score few songs like IR and few like ARR and just to have his own VS identity, probably asked him to score couple with his style.

Algana Poikale - BS. Probably VS'ish.
EnnaiTholaithai - ARRish.
HitlerPenne - IR'ish.
IngaeIngaeOruPattu - hmm... No idea what song it resembles. Boring song.
Iyakkunarae - definitely resembles someother song. prelude resembles some telugu (nagarjuna forgot the movie name) songs. starts well but goes bad.
Kandupidithen - resembles some ajith song (satham illatha ulagam kettaen or something). Hmm... boring.
Kutti Kutti Kavithai - good one.
La.. La.. La. - okay.

Simply put it = "I wasted an hour listening to the songs"

not bad songs wut.... def has that KB's touch all over.... def has mixure of IR & ARR !! esp the song by Shankar Mahadevan, simply reminded me of ARR's track !! and the hilter penne IR touch...and the Iyakunare starting reminded me of PArthale Paravasam's Ada Moonezhutu's starting ... anywayz...nice album after listenin fewtimes !

I wanted to say positive things about poi but that would be a lie, very dissapointed about this album, vidyasagar didnt work hard enough on this album, he should deliver better songs when working with legendary directors!!!

this is a better album... i think one of the best numbers by VS in recent times...

Iyakunare has 90 % shadow from one of the songs in his previous work ( idunno remember) in 1998 starring mammotty .. not ARR :)

The song by chitra just simply reminds me of Anjali from Duet + Pogum vazhi katre - Ratchagan.... i dunno mabby coz my mind is like sticked to ARR songs... :roll:


but POI is def a good album..i liked the songs...i know how interz feel... i felt the same & wrote the same dialouge for Paarthale Paravasam, but u should know....KB's music taste is very very very different... !!! the only album i rate that has FANTASTIC & NORMAL music from KB was

1.Ninaithale Inikum
2.Sindhu Bhairavi
3.Duet

the rest,falls under KB's weird music taste.... if u enjoyed Parthale Paravasam, POI is another treat !!! 8-)

Listened to Poi songs....yes IR & ARR touch have been sprinkled here and there. Sprinkles of IR touch in "Hitler Penne" (especially during the 2nd interlude & charanam) is so pleasant to hear. Neverthless, its a VS & KB album. I liked the orchestration & rythms used.
