Sinthiya, The blue jays are the most improved team in the division... But they are one or two players short of winning a championship.. Atleast its good to see them buying good players after watching the montreal debacle..

well...the Blue Jays is the only Canadian team left...it was sad to lose the Montreal Expos...

we lost some great guys like Carlos Delgado, Shanon Steward and Carpenter...but we still have our ace Roy Halladay (for how long, I wonder :? ) and Vernon Wells... :)

Officials Announce World Series Parade Details
1 To 2 Million Fans Expected To Attend
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―

Together, the team and the City will celebrate the World Series victory on Friday, October 31, by hosting a parade that will originate at Noon at 20th and Market Streets and travel south down Broad Street ending at the sports complex.

City officials said they are expecting anywhere from one to two million fans will be in attendance lining the parade route and filling up a limited number of seats in Citizens Bank Park and Lincoln Financial Field. Gates to the stadiums will open at 10 a.m. The parade is expected to last about an hour followed by a special program inside the stadiums.

This program is scheduled to being at 1:45 p.m. and last approximately an hour to an hour and a half. Some players will be in attendance.

Phillies officials said tickets to view the parade from inside ballpark and the special program will be made available first to season ticket holders. The remainder of the free tickets will then be made available online only starting at 3 p.m. Thursday. To get tickets visit: www.phillies.com.

Mayor Nutter and the Phillies are urging fans to take public transportation due to the expected large crowds and limited parking. "Do not drive," said Nutter.

School officials in Philadelphia said both public and catholic schools will remain open Friday.

Officials said security will be increased and asked fans to just enjoy themselves.

"Come out, have a good time, don't act stupid, don't be destructive," aid Mayor Nutter.

I thought Rockies snatched the game away in 8th Innings when they came back from 1-2 to 4-2. Thanks to Ryan Howard and Jayson werth we scored 3 more in the 9th Innings. Phew.

Philadelfians will meet LA Dodgers for NLCS Ch'ships from Oct 15th. Its a best of 7 series.

Fantabulous game by the Billiees :clap:. 11-0 against the Dodgers in NLCS is no mean feat.

The batting was positive from the first Innings. Ryan Howard started the attack with his double run hit and the Jayson werth hit a 2 run homer and all this in the first inning. Score was 6-0 at the end of 2nd and LA lost the game right there. Shane victorino's 3 run homer at the 8th innings was a scud missile.

Cliff lee - wat a pitching yaaa :notworthy:. Hope they carry the positive note forward and finish the games in Philadelphia itself.

LA Dodgers did everything right for most of the game. Phillies were trailing for most of the time but thanks to rollins and the 2 loaded bases they were able to hit a 2 run RBI at the end of the 9th Inning.

Phillies played a fantastic game last night to snatch the National League Championship. They defeated dodgers 10-4 and won the series 4-1. Yankees/Angels game today.

Game 1 ---> Phillies

Right in control from the First Innings. Ibanez wasted a chance when the bases were loaded in the first Innings but he made good use of the same scenario in the 8th(??) Inning. Thanks to Chase Utley for the two homeruns and the sustained pressure by Cliff Lee with his pitching. Philly hitters consistently kept the pressure by mounting the lead to 6-0 at the end of 9th Inning. When the last Inning started for the Yanks it was literally too big a task to face such an impressive showmanship of pitching.

Cliff Lee you beauty :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:. What on earth was that nonchalant catch by lee :shock:. May you get the MVP of this series. Keep the goods coming Phillies. More work to be done. 8-)

Post half way through the regular season Phillies have the besr W/L record in the entire league followed by the Yankees. Though our pitching has been terrific our hitting has been pretty ordinary and it can come to haunt during playoffs. I am guilty of not watching even a single game. Go fillies.

Among the depressing sports news over the last month or so there was some good phillies news for me. Phillies were down 5-0 in the first innings and 6-0 by end of 3rd but came back to hit 3, 2 and 4 runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings. They held the lead since then and won the match finally beating the Dodgers 9-8.

Their overall standing 77-40 is the best in the league
