Actress Chaya Singh marries TV actor Krishna

Well-known actress Chaya singh got married to TV actor Krishna (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Krishna) recently. The actress, who has acted in more than 25 films across six different languages including Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu, fell in love with actor Krishna, who worked with her in Ananthapurathu Veedu (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Ananthapurathu-Veedu), produced by director Shankar.

He has also played supporting roles in Eeram, Azhaghiya Asura and Idhaya Thirudan but shot to fame by acting in TV serials, most notably veteran director K Balachander's Sahana, and director Naga's suspense thriller Chidambara Raghasiyum.

Chaya Singh, who debuted in Tamil with the Dhanush-starrer Thiruda Thirudi (remember the chartbuster Manmadha Raasa?), has also acted in films like Vallamai Thaarayo, Vijay's Thirupachi and Vikram's Arul.

The marriage was held with the blessings of both their parents — Gopal Singh and Chamanlata (Chaya's parents) and Raghunandan and Nalini (parents of Krishna).

Simbu signs on Rahman

The news is not yet official but it's said that AR Rahman has agreed to score the music for Simbu's film. Manmadhan Part 2 (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Manmadhan-Part-2) has been scripted by the actor himself and is a sequel to his hit film, Manmadhan.

It was for Simbu's Vinnaithandi Varuvaya that ARR had scored the music earlier and, in fact, the music still continues to be a rage. A source close to the development reveals to us, "Simbu
has had an initial meeting with Rahman and is all set to work with him. They will be meeting again to finalise other aspects."

If the two come together for this project, it will be new pairing in Kollywood as the collaboration for Simbu (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Simbu) is more than just acting. For Manmadhan Part 2, Simbu will also apparently be writing the lyrics as well producing and directing the film. And he is all set to reprise a double role. Manmadhan, released in 2004, starred Simbu in a double role and was a romantic thriller. The actor also directed that film.

When we contacted Simbu, he refused to comment on the news.

இந்த செய்தியால் அந்த சீனியர் நடிகர் படு கோபமாக இருக்கிறாராம். அவரே ஒரு 'பஞ்சாயத்து'ப் பேசும் நடிகர், அவரது வீட்டுக்கே பஞ்சாயத்து வந்து விட்டதே என்று சீனியர் நடிகரின் சுற்றத்தார் டென்ஷனாகிக் கிடக்கிறார்களாம்.

மகளையும் கண்டிக்க முடியாமல், அந்த நடிகரையும் கண்டிக்க முடியாமல் தத்தளித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் சீனியர் நடிகர், விவகாரத்தை மிகவும் கவனமாக கையாள முயற்சித்து வருவதாக கூறுகிறார்கள்.

Suriya Gets A7 sportback luxury car

The car manufacturing company, Audi, has gifted the A7 Sportback luxury car to Suriya. So far, the car manufacturing companies have been gifting cars to Bollywood actors to up their market but this is the first time a south Indian actor is being showered with the honour.
The Rs. 80-lakh worth car has all the luxury fittings that one desires of and Suriya is lucky enough to get it as a gift.
The additional buzz is that Suriya has handed over his Audi Q7 SUV to his brother Karthi on the arrival of the new car.

Jaya TV prepares for a ‘complete makeover’

The market is abuzz with the news that you have acquired yet-to-be-released Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan. What are the other movies you have acquired?

We have acquired about 15 movies in the recent past. Among them, 10 movies are still under production while 5 movies have been released in the recent past. I can’t reveal the names of the movies but we are in the process of acquiring more movies.

Movies are a good source for attracting eyeballs which in turn drives GRPs. Movies will also help us in driving the channel’s GRPs.

Can you please throw some light on the tie up with Aidem?

Aidem will now market our group’s channels outside Tamil Nadu. Before this, we had one representative each in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata. And it was difficult to reach out to the clients with one person. Now with Aidem on board, we hope to reach out to more clients.

This is a strategic decision which will widen our market and help us to reach out to more and more clients.

We hear that Jaya TV is headed for a makeover. What are the changes planned for Jaya TV and other group channels?

The channel will go for complete makeover. Starting from second week of August, the flagship channel Jaya TV will don a new look. Except for some mega serials, we are phasing out most the shows by introducing fresh shows. We will be also introducing some big ticket game shows. There will be a game show that is unique and will stand out.

Once we have completed the revamping Jaya TV, we will start giving a makeover to other channels like Jaya Max, Jaya News and Jaya Movies.

As far Jaya News is concerned, we will have talk shows and more and more infotainment-oriented programmes.

Everything will change except for the logo of the channels.

எண்பதுகளின் இறுதியில் இளையராஜா இசையில் மணிரத்னம் இயக்கத்தில் வெளியாகி பெரும் வெற்றிப் பெற்ற அக்னி நட்சத்திரம் படத்தை மீண்டும் ரீமேக் செய்கிறார்கள்.

அந்தப் படத்தில் கதாநாயகர்களாக நடித்த பிரபு - கார்த்திக் இருவரின் மகன்களையும் வைத்து இந்தப் படத்தை ரீமேக் செய்யப் போகிறார்கள் என்பதுதான் இதில் விசேஷம்.

அக்னி நட்சத்திரம் படத்தின் ரீமேக் உரிமையை பாலாஜி ரியல் மீடியாவின் ரமேஷ் பெற்றுள்ளார்.

பிரபு மகன் விக்ரம் பிரபு இப்போது கும்கி படத்தில் நடித்து வருகிறார். இந்தப் படம் முடிந்ததும், அக்னி நட்சத்திரம் ரீமேக்கில் நடிக்க பேச்சு நடத்தி வருகிறார்கள். அதே போல, கார்த்திக் மகன் கவுதம் கார்த்திக் இப்போது மணிரத்னத்தின் கடல் படத்தில் நடித்து வருகிறார். இந்தப் படம் முடிந்த பிறகு அவரும் குழுவில் இணைந்து கொள்ள ஏற்பாடுகள் நடக்கின்றன.

அக்னி நட்சத்திரம் 1988-ம் ஆண்டு வெளியானது. இளையராஜாவின் இசையில் அத்தனைப் பாடல்களும் மெகாஹிட். குறிப்பாக நின்னுக்கோரி வர்ணமும் ராஜாதி ராஜனிந்த ராஜாவும் ஒலிக்காத இடமே இல்லை. இசையில் புது முயற்சியாக டெக்னோ இசையைக் கையாண்டிருந்தார் ராஜா.

Ajay Devgn’s mahurat to go live online!

In a first of sorts, the mahurat of Himmatwala starring Ajay Devgn that will take place on Wednesday at 1 pm in Ramoji Studios, Hyderabad will go live on YouTube.Confirming it, director Sajid Khan says, “Yes, this is a first ever in the history of Indian cinema when a mahurat will be covered live online. Since I make my films purely for the audience, I wanted them to be a part of it right from the very first shot, so we came up with this idea of livestreaming the mahurat on YouTube.”
The director reveals that he also plans to retain that very first shot, (which will be of Ajay) and the audience will see live online. “I am extremely superstitious so I will just take the mahurat shot even if there’s any technical flaw.” The mahurat will also be attended by producers Vashu Bhagnani and Siddharth Roy Kapur.

Taking a cue from Kamal, our Action King Arjun is launching his 21-year-old daughter, Aishwarya, in a movie, titled Pattatthu Yaanai, opposite his protégé and actor, Vishal.
Apparently, Vishal started his career as an assistant director to Arjun, who directed Vedham and Ezhumalai.
A producer who spotted Vishal on the sets of one of Arjun’s films signed him on for his debut movie, Chellame. Meanwhile, Arjun’s wife, Niveditha, an actress, stopped acting post her wedding to the Mudhalvan star.
Sources say that Aishwarya was approached by several top filmmakers in the past, including Mani Ratnam, when she was in college in Chennai.
Finally, Vishal seems to be the lucky man. Pattatthu Yaanai is directed by Bhoopathy Pandian who had teamed with him for the hit film, Malai Kottai.
The film is produced by producer-turned-politician, Michael Rayappan, under his Global Info-tainment banner.

She is spontaneous, bubbly and always a bundle of positive energy. She may have had to wait for long for her debut film Poda Podi’s release,yet the dusky babe has proved her worth in her very first film. “I am extremely happy and content and couldn’t have asked for a better launch pad,” asserts Varalaxmi, daughter of ace actor/politician Sarath Kumar.
The lady who openly calls a spade a spade talks to DC about her career, her closeness to actor Vishal, her love for dancing and future plans. Varu, as she is fondly called by friends, starts off by saying that it has been worth the wait.

“Irrespective of whether Poda Podi is doing well or not, I have been getting accolades from all quarters for my performance. I had so much confidence in Vikki’s script. I lived the character of Nisha in PP. There are a lot of similarities between what I am and how Nisha was on screen. Vikki is my college mate and he knows me in and out. The role was tailor-made for me,” she says with an infectious smile.

Highly independent and assertive by nature, she says she does not rely on her dad Sarath’s reputation for opportunities. “I believe in my own potential. I pursue what my mind tells me. I am fond of dancing and I have learnt all forms of dance right from a young age. I studied masters in management and I was studious as well. At a time when I thought that I should plunge into acting, I did a course in Anupam Kher’s acting school.” She quickly adds, “Of course, my dad is very supportive and encouraging. He was very excited seeing my performance in PP. He liked the second half which had a lot of scope for my acting.”
Ask Varu about the rumor that she and Vishal are seeing each other, and pat come the response, “Our families know each other right from the day my dad used to work for Vishal’s father’s banner. We used to meet regularly during family get-togethers. Yes, I do agree Vishal is a close friend of mine. He has been a guiding factor in my career, but he is not the interfering type. There’s nothing more to our relationship,” she says and closes discussion on it softly but firmly.

Clearing the notion that it was Vishal who brought her on board in his film Madha Gaja Raja (MGR) she says, “It is not true! Vishal does not interfere in the selection of his heroines. Gemini Films which produces MGR are my favorite and it was director Sundar C who insisted that I should do the role of modern girl Maya in the popular movie.”

We finally broach the subject of her ‘tying the knot’ plans. “That’s a good joke! My career has just begun and I have a long way to go and dreams to achieve. Marriage is not on the agenda now.” She admits that Bollywood star Kajol has always been a source of inspiration for her.

The actress says that she still pursues her passion for dancing and recently staged a musical in the city. Famous sign off words? “I want to shut my mouth and learn to be diplomatic,” concludes the firebrand Varu.

The wait continues

Fans of Mani Ratnam and A. R. Rahman might have to wait a bit longer to listen to the songs of Kadal. The audio of the film was to be launched today. However, sources in the music industry say the CDs may hit the stores in the first week of December. Similarly, Kamal’s team, which was originally considering the possibility of releasing the audio of Vishwaroopam on November 28, is now looking to push it to December 2. Says a source: “Discussions are on and these are the dates being considered.”

Meet composer Bhavatharini

Ace music director Ilaiyaraja’s daughter and singer Bhavatharini has now scored the music for a Tamil film, titled Vellachi.

Vellachi is the third Tamil film for which Bhavatharini has scored the music, the other two being Amirtham and Ilakkanam. She has composed the music for films in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi as well.

Point out to her that she will now be competing with her composer brothers Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Bhavatharini says with a smile, “It will be a healthy competition.”

Sanchita’s next Tamil film

Sanchita Shetty, who impressed audiences with her role in Kollaikaran, has signed her next Tamil film, Soodhu Kavvum, opposite Vijay Sethupathi.

A source close to the actor, who is popular in the Kannada film industry, says, “After Kollaikaran, Sanchita was waiting for an exciting script and she found the story of Soodhu Kavvum, being directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, extremely interesting. The film, which goes on floors next month, will see the actor play her dream role.”

A b’day gift

Fans of Rajinikanth have always considered his birthday, which falls on December 12, special, celebrating it with excitement year after year. This year, well-known production house AVM has chosen to present them with a unique gift on the occasion. It will re-release his film Sivaji, directed by Shankar, in 3D on his birthday. Prasad EFX has converted the 2D version of the film into 3D. The superstar, who is said to be impressed with the 3D version, believes it will be a roaring success.

Shankar-Simbu to join hands- Times of India (tricky title)

The audio launch Santhanam's maiden production venture starring himself and Power Star Srinivasan and VTV Ganesh, Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya (KLTA) will happen on 9th December. It was earlier reported that while Simbu aka STR, who worked with Santhanam in Vaanam, will be seen in a scene in KLTA playing himself, Gautham Menon (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Gautham-Menon) will be seen as a director who is canning a
shot with the actor.

Looks like the ace director and young super star will join once again for the film's audio launch. The audio will be launched by Director Shankar, who has cast Santhanam in 'I' and Simbu, who introduced Santhanam in his 'Manmadhan', will receive the first copy.

While Vishaka Singh plays the female lead in this Manikandan directed, comedy entertainer, the music has been scored by Thaman and cinematography by Balasubramaniem.

The film is believed to be a full-fledged comedy entertainer which will tickle the funny bones. 'Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya' is ready to release on 21st December alongside Bala's 'Paradesi' starring Aadharva, Vedhika and Dhanshika.

Dolby unveils its Atmos technology

The cinematic sound evolution has come a long way. From the mono sound in the early stages to stereo, and then progressing to 5.1 surround and subsequently 7.1 surround sound, acoustics have only got better.
However, even surround sound did not fully complement the human ear, which has a 360-degrees hearing capability. But after witnessing increasing adoption of three-dimensional (3D) visuals, cinema will now see the advent of multi-dimensional audio that promises to substantially enhance the movie experience.
Seeking to give cinema-goers with a lifelike immersive listening experience, sound technology innovator Dolby Laboratories has unveiled its new Dolby Atmos technology in Chennai. The technology was unveiled at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai which has become the first cinema chain in India with the revolutionary Dolby Atmos audio technology.
Terming the technology as "revolutionary and completely different from an experience perspective," Pankaj Kedia, Country Manager, Dolby Laboratories India said Dolby Atmos will enable truly better sound, by allowing smoother movement of sound and natural audio.
The key highlight of the Dolby Atmos technology is the twin array of overhead speakers on the ceiling of the theatre, as well as support for additional surround sound speakers.
The overhead speakers enable even minute sounds such as the whizzing of an insect or jet, the clap of thunder and lighting, the chirping of birds and even the pitter-patter of raindrops sound strikingly real.
Dolby claims its Atmos technology is a new audio platform that will change the experience of sound in entertainment by delivering a more natural and realistic sound-field and thereby transporting the audience into the story.
Elucidating on the immersive aspect, Kedia quoted acclaimed filmmaker George Lucas, who has said "sound is 50% of the movie experience."
Kedia said Dolby Atmos will have provision for up to 64 channels or speaker feeds and 128 simultaneous and audio streams.
Dolby is expecting Atmos to eventually replace the 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound systems presently in use in theatres.
"Dolby Atmos makes simplified distribution of sound and scalable audio playback in the auditorium possible. It takes into account that every cinema theatre is different is in size and set-up," he added. The company is looking at having around 50 Dolby Atmos-equipped screens in the country by 2013, Kedia disclosed.
Ashim Mathur, Marketing Head, Dolby Laboratories India said Dolby Atmos will be primarily a cinema theatre technology that will draw audiences to theatres for the new audio experience.
Rajinikanth-starrer Sivaji 3D which releases on December 12, 2012 will be the first Indian film to be released with Dolby Atmos. Several major Hollywood studios have released flicks adopting the Atmos technology. These include Disney's 'Brave'; DreamWorks Animation's 'Rise of the Guardians' and Twentieth Century Fox's 'Taken 2', 'Chasing Mavericks' and 'Life of Pi' as well as Peter Jackson's much-anticipated 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' from Warner Bros.
'Gravity' and 'Pacific Rim' also from Warner Bros as well as 'Star Trek into Darkness' from Paramount Pictures will release in the same format in 2013.

Khusbu reacts to her sari controversy

Khushbu finds herself in a fresh controversy. This time, her designer sari with images of Gods seems to have whipped up trouble. She has been accused by Hindu Makkal Katchi for disrespecting Hindu beliefs once again. Members of the party are planning for an agitation if she doesn't apologize soon.

Lawrence told to pay 2.5 cr to Rebel producers

In an unprecedented move in the Telugu Film Industry, a director was asked to pay the producers compensation for exceeding the 'agreed' budget of a film.
After more than two months of waiting, J Baghavan and Pulla Rao, the producers of the Prabhas-Tamannaah starrer Rebel, who lodged a complaint with the Producers Council against director Raghava Lawrence for overshooting the film's budget, have got a reprieve. Apparently, Lawrence had given a written agreement that he would make the film at a cost of `22.5 crore, but the budget has gone beyond the agreed amount and as such, they had demanded a refund from the director.

After carrying out extensive talks and a series of discussions with various parties, the coordination committee, which consists of a 20-member committee, chaired by KL Naranaya, directed Lawrence to pay `2.5 crores to the producers as compensation.

This is the first time that a director is being penalised for shooting the movie beyond the budget limit. Previously, films like the Ram Charan-starrer Orange and the recent Nag a r j u n a - s t a r r e r Dhamarukam made news for grossly exceeding the estimated budget.

Confirming the same, B u r u g u p a l l i S i v a r a m k r i s h n a , President of AP Producers Council said, "The producers, in their complaint, claimed that they were running into losses of `5.5 crores since the director exceeded the budget. After a series of talks and deliberations, the Coordination Committee has directed Lawrence to pay `2.5 crore as compensation to the producers and that too within 30 days. If the director fails to pay the amount within the stipulated time, he's liable to pay the entire amount of `5.5 crores."

When asked about the status of Lawrence's complaint against the producers at a Madras High Court for selling the Hindi dubbing rights of Rebel without his notice, Sivaramkrishna said, "Lawrence in the contract agreed that the producers could sell the dubbing rights if they release the film in deficit. So clearly, it is Lawrence's fault. We had asked him to withdraw the complaint and he had obliged.

One – an one man show

There is always a fascination to watch Hollywood movies and that too films that were made with a difference. Unique is the word we often listen be it Hollywood or Bollywood or our own Tamil film industry.

After striking a chord with a ‘unique’ film Vengayam, that gave a voice for rationalist thinking in the society-ridden with superstitious thoughts, director Sankagiri Rajkumar is all set for making an impossible thing possible. Indeed an unique attempt, never ever tried before in any cinema across the globe.

We have come across an actor doing majority of characters or a filmmaker donning different hats behind the camera. But one individual doing everything and anything? That is Sankagiri Rajumar for you. Emboldened by the success of Vengayam, which received critical acclaims not just from the media but also from the masses, Rajkumar is all set to entertain the film-buffs across the world with a new movie in English titled One.

Quite appropriate to the title, it is a one man show. Be it from pin to plane, it is he who has handled everything. He has taken control of all 36 departments involved in making a film, all alone and embarked on a journey in his own capacity. Also all the characters that appear in the movie are enacted by him.

A novoice in cinema, he came with a dream in 2003 to do such a unique attempt. After mastering himself in all post production works and get a first hand knowledge of anything and everything in film-making, he commenced his One.

Be it a spot boy, a camera assistant or a set designer, it is all Sankagiri Rajkumar himself. He appears in over 300 different characters with appropriate computer graphic works ( all done by himself), he is all set to create a visual marvel. Visual effects for doing a moving frame is no easy task. But an avid lover of cinema, he has learnt the technic well to use it in the film at many places and for many characters.

Camera is his one eye, acting the other. Directing, music, editing, dubbing, himself for all these characters run in his veins. Besides choosing locations himself across the globe, Rajkumar has taken all pains to embark on a journey all alone to these places without the help of anyone to shoot a wholesome entertainer.

For a theatre sequence where over 500 people sit and watch, Rajkumar has used graphics in such a way that it is all himself created on screen as audience, thanks to his mastery in visual designing.

Ask about the story, Rajkumar says, ‘it is something relevant for the international audience as well as the Indian film-lovers. But for me everything will come with a message in the end’.

Asked him whether doing everything all alone and by himself was a difficult task, he says, ‘it was a huge challenge. Unless and until you master the art and give your best, nothing will come good. I planned to study all in five years, but took over nine years and many sleepless nights’

For those who cannot believe that all was his hard work, Rajkumar has taken pains to record the making of the film in all stages of film-making, which stands as an evidence for his hard work.

Asked whether there will be a monotonous film since all done by one individual, he says, ‘ it would be like a regular film. It would provide the feel and excitement of watching any other mainstream cinema’.

Impressed with his task, a famous Hollywood producer has invited him to screen the trailer in USA. Rajkumar is hopeful that One will impress one and all. With 80 per cent of the work completed, he is planning worldwide release very soon.

Barely a month after their engagement, actress Pooja Gandhi and industrialist Anand Gowda have decided to part ways. While Pooja insists it was a matter of different ideologies, her now former fiance Anand tells us that it was trouble in the family that led to differences. "Pooja's family brought up a lot of issues that did not exist prior to the engagement. There were issues with regard to me staying with my parents, to the kind of food we eat and even to the way I looked. I have been married before, but I never faced these kind of issues with the family," explains Anand. Having met the actress through a common friend some time ago, Anand says he was totally smitten by her. "I gave up my life in the US, as well as my political career for Pooja. But it turns out that I was only being used. I was the one who got her a place in one political party when she was ousted by another. Pooja is a nice girl, there is no doubt about that. But circumstances have forced us to call this off," sums up Anand. While Pooja prefers not to talk about what went wrong, she wishes her former fiance good luck. "Sometimes, when two people get engaged, they realize that their ideologies do not match and it is best that they part ways in a dignified manner. Anand is a nice person and I wish him all the best. I don't want to discuss anything more about my private life."

Spread across southeastern India, northeastern Sri Lanka and other parts of Southeast Asia, the Tamils number some 65 million people and possess one of the world’s oldest cultures. But in Hindi-dominated India, they — and their movies — are usually ignored or dismissed.

At the international level, Tamil cinema gets even less recognition. Writers frequently confuse Mumbai’s Hindi film business, locally known as Bollywood, with the entire Indian industry. But the increasing critical and financial success of “the Other Bollywood” could soon flip that perception upside down.

Led by Tamil cinema, the South Indian film industry — which also includes movies made in the Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages — produced more than half of all Indian movies over five years leading into 2012.

Budgets for Tamil films now rival Bollywood’s, according to a report prepared by consultant firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. And the Tamil industry is emerging as a creative dynamo.

Deloitte expects the South Indian industry to grow 11 per cent a year and earn revenue of nearly $600 million by 2015, compared with Bollywood’s $2 billion-plus. And with the emergence of a nascent corporate studio system, South Indian films like 2010’s Endhiranthe Robot — a crazy sci-fi mashup featuring Rajinikanth, South India’s biggest star, that garnered around $12 million abroad, according to Deloitte — are beginning to tap the overseas market and other new revenue streams.

“With the Sri Lankans migrating to a lot of places in the world, we get to export our films even to places like Norway and Sweden, which weren’t in our map at all a few years back,” said film producer S.P.B. Charan. “Now we are pushing our films to places like Delhi and Bombay, with subtitles. That’s another market that we’re tapping into that we didn’t have before.”

Starting with Walt Disney’s 2006 purchase of a 15 per cent stake in Ronnie Screwvala’s UTV Software Communications, companies like Sony, Walt Disney, Fox and Viacom have been betting on Bollywood for the past five years, after realizing that Hindi movies continued to outsell Hollywood imports. The reason? Unlike in the U.S., more and more Indians are going to movie theatres every year, and paying higher and higher prices.

Now that same motivation is driving Bollywood’s big players, and international firms, to the South.

In May 2011, UTV Motion Pictures had eight films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam slated for release in the U.S., the U.K. and other foreign markets. And Sony Music Entertainment bought the catalogue of Chennai-based Think Music in July 2011 to gain a 50 per cent market share in the South, giving a corporate boost to the film songs that are the meat and potatoes of India’s music industry.

But it’s the creative energy of the Tamil industry that’s making waves. Over the past five years, Tamil remakes like Wanted, Ready, and Bodyguard were responsible for the comeback of the ever-shirtless Hindi star Salman Khan, even as his muscles turned to fat.

Three of the top 10 grossing Bollywood films of 2011 were remakes of Tamil blockbusters. And Bollywood’s biggest star, Shah Rukh Khan, is slated to star in two Tamil remakes this year.

What’s happening is a simultaneous revolution and counterrevolution.

Over the past decade, mainstream Bollywood movies have increasingly focused on the elite, shifting stories to foreign locales and focusing on scripts about modern subjects like live-in relationships (Salaam Namaste) and homosexuality (Dostana). But these films were alien to a huge part of the audience, including lower income groups in metropolitan cities and more conservative people in smaller towns.

Meanwhile, in the South, the masala or “spicy” potboiler formula — a beefy hero, two heroines, five fight scenes, six songs, and a surrealist disregard for logic or the laws of physics — never went out of style. The Tamil industry’s thriving “star culture” assured that diehard fans might see a movie 30 or 40 times just to see Rajinikanth play the hero.

At the same time, so-called “new wave” Tamil movies have recently earned critical acclaim. In 2011, Aadukalam (or Arena in Tamil) swept India’s national awards, while in 2012, Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai (Azhagarsamiyin’s Horse) was named the year’s best popular film and Aaranya Kaandam (Jungle Chapter) won a national award for best first film, along with the Grand Jury Award for Best Film at the South Asian Film Festival.

The result is that the South, once the butt of jokes in Hindi movies, is now the epitome of cool.

Vikram's 'Karikalan' revived!- times if india
Karikalan, a historical action movie, featuring Vikram and Zarine Khan in the lead roles which was shelved is likely to kickstart again. The film is based on the life of the famous Tamil King of early Chola during the Sangam period and will resume the shooting from March.
The music director of the film GV Prakash has tweeted "The historical epic 'Karikalan' revives back from March with Chiyaan Vikram. Starting composing for karikalan in a week. Already had finished 2 songs."

The film was started by director LI Kannan, but half way through he was replaced by AR Gandhikrishna, who is said to have originally written the script, to helm the movie. Karikalan revolves around the man who built one of the first dams in the country. It is said that the period flick is heavy on computer graphics as it is difficult to actually re-create the era that Karikalan lived in.

The movie is produced by SS Vasan and S Parthiban of Silver Line Film Factory. Menawhile Vikram is currently busy shooting for Shankar's 'I' and also awaiting the release of Bejoy Nambiar's David.

Actress Shakeela back, but to direct clean movies- ZEE news

Shakeela, who was the star of B-grade super hit Malayalam films, is back but says that she is here to direct and not to act in movies. She also clarified that her directorial venture would be a clean movie.

In 1990s and early 2000, she was hugely popular among movie buffs for her sensuous roles in many blockbusters.
Talking about her directorial venture ‘Neelakurinji’, Shakeela clarified: "Please don`t expect the film that I am going to direct same as the films that I acted in. This is about pain of a woman and it is not a glamorous film either."

She was here to participate in the `muhurat` of her directorial debut ‘Neelakurinji’. The title is inspired by the flower neelakurinji that blooms once in 12 years.
"My film would be one which could be seen by all," Shakeela, 40, told reporters.

She acted in more than 50 films in all southern languages and filled the gap left by Silk Smitha for a few years. ‘Kinnarathumbikal’ was one of her all-time hits.
She hopes to rope in her favourite actor Dileep to do a guest appearance in her directorial debut.

Neerparavai goes to Korea

The Vishnu-Sunaina starrer Neerparavai has been selected to be screened at the Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea. The film, directed by Seenuramasamy, will be screened in the Beyond Bollywood segment of the festival.

Says Nirupama Santhosh, film curator, "This is the fourteenth edition of the fest and will take place between April 25 and May 3. This year, the country in focus is India and the organizers have created a separate category for non-Hindi films. Neerparavai has been chosen for this segment.

Says director Seenuramasamy, "It's an honour to be selected for such a well-known fest organized by a country that routinely comes up with brilliant films.

Lakshmi Rai files case against leading magazine!

Lakshmi Rai, who will next be seen in director Selvakumar's Onbadhula Guru, has filed a case against a leading magazine for showing her in bad light. The Chennai High Court has passed an injunction order against the magazine for publishing a defamatory article about the actress.

The actress informed through her micro-blogging site that she is not going to take even a bit of rubbish anymore, which is affecting her image and personal life, and that it is high time to take some action. Justice R Sudhakar granted the injunction while passing interim orders on an application arising out of a civil suit from Lakshmi Rai praying for a direction to the weekly and its reporter to pay Rs 30 lakh towards damages for publishing articles in its issues.

Lakshmi Rai tweeted, "Dear friends,thx fr all ur support. Hon'ble high court has passed an injunction order against kumudam publishing defamatory article abt me. I hope this teaches them not to insult any women ever again!god is kind! This was the first time that I took such a strict action it was getting too much!"

I’m hurt by Gautham’s accusations: Elred

The on-going legal tussle between producer Elred Kumar and director Gautham Menon took a new twist when the latter released a written plea to the media and the Kollywood fraternity recently. According to industry sources, Elred, who has produced several of Gautham's films, has taken him to court over several issues including repayment of financial losses to the tune of 20 crore.

Speaking toTOI, Elred explained, "I cannot reveal details of the court case as the matter is subjudice as advised by my lawyer. All I can tell you is that I am hurt — I am hurt by the fact that Gautham alleges I am harassing him because I took the legal route. How can seeking relief through the court of law be termed harassment? I have never even had a verbal argument with him in all the time we have worked together."

He says, "I was advised not to prevent Gautham from continuing to direct and hinder his work and I have not done that. As for attaching his house, we have not done any such thing. There is a property he bought recently and we are seeking to attach that only. Why will we try to attach his house?"
The director is only trying to create a sympathy wave with the media and Kollywood, say some, by sending out an emotional letter. Others say that Gautham has not presented the facts properly and he, in fact, owes many producers money, owing Elred the largest amount.

Elred signs off saying, "We have all the evidence required for the cases filed and I am very confident that the judgment will be in our favour and we will win the case. The truth will come out."

அதிக ரசிகர்களை ஈர்க்க வேண்டும், கமர்ஷியலாக பல மடங்கு லாபம் ஈட்ட வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கில்தான் இங்கு படங்கள் எடுக்கப்படுகின்றன. அதிக சிரமமில்லாமல் தங்களின் நோக்கத்தை நிறைவு செய்யவே ஒவ்வொருவரும் விரும்புகிறார்கள். அந்தவகையில் எளிதாக ரசிகர்களை பரவசப்படுத்த இயக்குனர்கள் இப்போது அதிகம் நம்புவது டாஸ்மாக் காட்சிகளைதான். பிராந்தி பாட்டிலை காண்பித்தாலே திரையரங்குகள் ஆர்ப்பரிக்கின்றன.

இருபது வருடங்களுக்கு முன் குடி ஒரு மோசமான செயலாக நமது சமூகத்தில் பார்க்கப்பட்டது. அன்று திரைப்படங்களில் குடி என்பது ஒருவரின் குணத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தும் விஷயமாக கையாளப்பட்டது. அதாவது வில்லன்கள் மட்டுமே எப்போதும் மதுக்கோப்பைகளுடன் இருந்தார்கள். கதாநாயகன் தவறு செய்வதாக காட்சி வந்தால் குடி போதையில் அந்தத் தவறை செய்வதாக காட்டினார்கள். அதாவது போதைதான் அவனை தவறு செய்ய வைத்தது என்பதாக. நடைமுறை வாழ்க்கையிலும் இன்று போல் குடி இயல்பான ஒன்றாக ஆகியிருக்கவில்லை. குற்றவுணர்வுடனே மதுவிடுதிகளை அன்று நாடினர்.

கடந்த இருபது ஆண்டுகளாக நம்மை ஆண்டவர்கள் மதுவை ஒரு அத்தியாவசிய பண்டமாக ஆக்கிவிட்டார்கள். ஒரு தலைமுறையை குடிகாரர்களாக மாற்றிய பெருமை இரு திராவிட காட்சிகளுக்குமே உண்டு. சமூக அளவில் மது குறித்து இருந்த மனத்தடைகளையும், குற்றவுணர்வுகளையும் தெருவுக்கு தெரு முளைத்திருக்கும் டாஸ்மாக் கடைகள் இல்லாமலாக்கிவிட்டன. குடி இன்று ஒரு தவிர்க்க முடியாத பழக்கமாகிவிட்டது.

1983ல் மது விற்பனை 180 கோடியாக இருந்தது. இருபது வருடங்களில் அதாவது 2003ல் அது 3,600 கோடியாக உயர்ந்தது. 2013ல் 22,000 கோடிகள். உலகில் எந்தவொரு வியாபாரமும் இப்படியொரு வளர்ச்சியை கண்டதில்லை. தமிழகத்தைவிட ஒன்றரை மடங்கு ஜனத்தொகை கொண்ட உத்திரப்பிரதேசத்தில் மதுவினால் கிடைக்கும் வருவாய் 11,500 கோடிகள். தமிழகத்தில் அதுவே 22,000 கோடிகள். தமிழ்நாட்டின் குடிவெறிக்கு இதுவொரு சின்ன உதாரணம்.

குடியே கூடாது என்று சொல்லும் ஒழுக்கவாதியோ, மதுவை அறவே தவிர்க்க வேண்டும் என்று சொல்லும் காந்தியின் லட்சியவாதியோ கிடையாது நாம். அதேநேரம் இந்தப் பழக்கத்தின் அசுர வளர்ச்சி அச்சப்படுத்துகிறது.

குடி ஒரு பழக்கமாகிவிட்டது என்றோம். அதுதான் பிரச்சனையின் அடிப்படை. பழக்கம் என்பது நாம் சிந்தித்து நடைமுறைப்படுத்துவது இல்லை. அது நம்மையறியாமல் நம்மிடம் ஒட்டிக் கொள்வது. இருபது வருடங்களுக்கு முன் மெழுகுவர்த்தி ஊதி அணைத்து கேக் வெட்டி பிறந்தநாள் கொண்டாடுவது அரிது. ஆனால் இன்று அந்த சம்பிரதாயத்தை கடைபிடிக்காத குடும்பங்களே இல்லை. கேக், மெழுகுவர்த்தியுடன் தலையில் வைக்கும் குல்லா முதற்கொண்டு அதற்கான எக்ஸ்ட்ரா தளவாடங்கள் விற்பனை இன்று மிகப்பெரிய சந்தையாக உருவெடுத்திருக்கிறது. இன்று நாம் விரும்பாவிட்டாலும் அந்த சம்பிரதாயத்தை செய்ய வேண்டிய சூழலுக்குள் தள்ளப்பட்டிருக்கிறோம். பழக்கத்தினால் வரும் முக்கியப் பிரச்சனையே அதுதான். நாம் விரும்புகிறோமா இல்லையோ அதை நாம் செய்ய பழக்கப்படுத்தப்படுகிறோம்.

இன்று குடியை நாடும் பெரும்பாலான இளைஞர்கள் குடியை தேர்ந்தெடுத்தவர்கள் என்பதைவிட குடிக்கு பழக்கப்படுத்தப்பட்டவர்கள் என்பதுதான் சரி. சென்ற தலைமுறையை ஓரளவு குடிப்பழக்கத்திலிருந்து தடுத்தது, சமூகம் குடி குறித்து உருவாக்கி வைத்திருந்த, குடி மோசமான செயல் என்ற மதிப்பீடும், அந்த மதிப்பீடு உருவாக்கிய குற்றவுணர்வும்தான். அதனை இல்லாமல் செய்ததில் கடந்த இருபதாண்டுகளாக நம்மை ஆண்டவர்கள் வெற்றி பெற்றிருக்கிறார்கள். சினிமாவுக்கும் அதில் கணிசமான பங்குண்டு. நிஜத்தைதானே சினிமாவில் காண்பிக்கிறார்கள் என்று சப்பைகட்டு கட்ட முடியாது. நிஜத்தை சினிமா பிரதிபலிக்கிறதா இல்லை சினிமாவைப் பார்த்து நிஜத்தை உருவாக்குகிறார்களா என்பது பதில் கிடைக்காத கேள்வி. ஆறு இரு கரைகளையும் இணைக்கிறதா இல்லை பிரிக்கிறதா என்பது போல. கரைகளை பிரிப்பதும் ஆறுதான், இணைப்பதும் ஆறுதான். குடி விஷயத்தில் யதார்த்தமும், சினிமாவும் ஒன்றையொன்று ஒத்திசைந்து தம்மை வலுப்படுத்திக் கொண்டன என்றுதான் சொல்ல வேண்டும்.

சென்ற தலைமுறை சினிமாவில் பெண்களை பாலியல் பலாத்காரம் செய்கிற, கொலை செய்கிற வில்லன்கள்தான் மது அருந்தினார்கள். மது கெட்ட மனிதனின் அடையாளமாக இருந்தது (குடிப்பவர்கள்தான் மோசமானவர்கள் அல்லது மோசமானவர்கள்தான் குடிப்பார்கள் என்ற அந்தக்கால சினிமா பார்வையிலும் நமக்கு உடன்பாடில்லை). பருந்து பார்வையில் சொல்வதானால் ஒருவன் கெட்டவன் என்பதை காண்பிக்க அவன் கையில் மதுக்கோப்பையை தந்தார்கள். ஆனால் இன்று காட்சிகள் மாறிவிட்டன. படத்தின் ஆரம்பத்தில் கதாநாயகன் அறிமுகமாவதே டாஸ்மாக் கானா பாடலில்தான்.

படத்தில் வரும் இளைஞன் ஏதாவது சாதித்தால் டாஸ்மாக்... காதலில் வெற்றி பெற்றால் டாஸ்மாக்... தோல்வி அடைந்தால் டாஸ்மாக்... காமெடி என்றால் டாஸ்மாக்... கானா பாடல் என்றால் டாஸ்மாக்... விழுந்தாலும் எழுந்தாலும் டாஸ்மாக். இன்றைய இளைஞனின் தவிர்க்க முடியாத உறுப்பாக டாஸ்மாக்கை மாற்றிவிட்டது தமிழ் சினிமா.

சமீபத்தில் தனியார் தொலைக்காட்சி ஒளிபரப்பிய நிகழ்ச்சியில் விளம்பரங்கள் எப்படி நம்மை கன்ஸ்யூமராக மாற்றுகிறது என்பது பற்றி அலசப்பட்டது. அதில் பேசிய ஒரு இளம்பெண், சாக்லெட்டை கண் மூடி சுவைப்பதை பெருமையாக குறிப்பிட்டார். விளம்பரத்தில் கண்களை மூடி சாக்லெட்டை சுவைக்கும் பெண்ணை அவர் இமிடேட் செய்கிறார் என்பதுகூட அவருக்கு தெரிந்திருக்கவில்லை. அந்த இளம்பெண்ணைப் போல இன்னதென்று அறியாமலே குடிப்பழக்கத்திற்கு அடிமையாகிற இளைஞர்கள்தான் இன்று அதிகம். சிந்தித்துப் பார்க்காமல் எதையும் சுவீகரித்துக் கொள்ளும் சமூகத்தை குடியிலிருந்து ஓரளவு தடுத்து நிறுத்துவது குடி குறித்த குற்றவுணர்வுதான். அந்த குற்றவுணர்வை நமது சினிமா இல்லாமலாக்கிவிட்டது. அதற்கு முக்கிய காரணம் குடியை ஒரு கொண்டாட்டமாக மட்டுமே இதுவரை தமிழ் சினிமா காட்டியிருக்கிறது. அதன் இன்னொரு பக்கத்தை காட்டியதில்லை. குடி குறித்த குற்றவுணர்வை இல்லாமலாக்கியதற்கான பரிசுதான் திரையரங்குகளில் டாஸ்மாக் காட்சிகளுக்கு கிடைக்கும் விசிலும் கைத்தட்டல்களும்.

தமிழ் சினிமாவுடன் ஒப்பிட்டால் வேறு எந்த மொழி திரைப்படமும் இப்படி குடியில் விழுந்து கிடக்கவில்லை. பெரும் குடிகாரர்கள் நிறைந்த கேரளாவிலும்கூட குடி சம்பந்தமான காட்சிகள் கதையோட்டத்தின் தேவையை முன்னிறுத்தி மட்டுமே வைக்கப்படுகின்றன. குடிக்காக காட்சிகள் அமைப்பது தமிழ் சினிமாவில் மட்டும்தான். ஒரு பள்ளி மாணவன் எவ்வித உறுத்தலும் இன்றி டாஸ்மாக்கில் மது அருந்துவதற்கான மனப்பக்குவத்தை தந்ததில் தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்கு பெரும் பங்கு இருக்கிறது.

இருபத்தைந்தாயிரம் கோடி இலக்கு நிர்ணயித்து சாராயம் விற்கும் நாட்டில் குடி குறித்த குற்றவுணர்வை இனி எதிர்பார்ப்பதற்கில்லை. குடியை வைத்து கைத்தட்டல் வாங்குகிறோமே என்று ஏதாவது இயக்குனர்களுக்கு குற்றவுணர்வு ஏற்பட்டால்தான் உண்டு.

Surya donates Rs 10 lakh for Uttarakhand relief fund

Even as the rescue operations are on in Uttarakhand to bring the survivors back home from the flood-hit region, actor Suriya has joined the list of generous actors who donated money for relief operations.

Shruti Haasan is the darling daughter of actors Sarika and Kamal Haasan. Her parents got separated and later Kamal have had a live-in relationship with co-actress Gauthami. When asked about the divorce of her parents by a regional newspaper, Shruti said, “It’s their personal matter to part their ways. I’ve no concerned with that matter and hence I don’t want to talk about it. For me, happiness of their parents matter most. Since, they decided to part the ways happily, I’ve no issues at all.”

On being asked about to whom she is close among her parents, she said, “I’m equally attached to both dad (Kamal) and mom (Sarika). But I’m very close to my mom whom I’ve had a special bond and equation. We’re more than friends.” When quizzed about whether she calls Gauthami as her mom, pat came reply from Shruti. “Why do I call so. I’ve a mom and she is Sarika. It has happened only once in Indian cinema until now and the feat was achieved by Kapoor khandhan – Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor with the movie ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’ which released in 1971.
History is repeating after 42 years with Akkineni family making the unbelievable happen – ANR, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya coming together for Manam which is being directed by Vikram (Ishq fame). The trio will start shooting their combination scenes from September 9th.
Speaking about the Akkineni multistarrer, ANR says finding a script for such a combination is an herculean task but Director Vikram managed to come up with a highly entertaining subject. He,however, turns down the request of his fans to appear in a duet keeping his age in mind.
Nagarjuna reveals that the script has been filled with so many light-hearted moments between the trio to make it a laugh riot. He went on to say Chaitu will be very nervous with the idea of sharing screen space with him and his grandfather for the first time.
Naga Chaitanya admits being excited and nervous at the same time. He, however, is confident of getting over that jitters after the first few days of their combination scenes.

The first look of Telugu multi-starrer featuring three generations of Akkineni family is likely to be released Friday on the 90th birthday of acting legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR).
Nageswara Rao will be seen with his son Nagarjuna and grandson Naga Chaitanya in the film.
“I think this is the best gift we could think of. Plans are being made to release the first look poster of the film on Friday. We thought it would be a great moment for his fans to look forward to. Releasing it on this day also means good visibility,” a member from the film’s unit said.

Popular south Indian film actress Trisha Krishnan has been named the 'Most Dangerous Celebrity' online in Tamil Nadu. A study by online security technology company McAfee has found that there are 80 infected sites which carry the name of Trisha.

McAfee researched Tamil popular culture's most famous people, including sportsmen, actors and politicians, to create a ranking of the 'Most Dangerous Celebrity' based on the online risk quotient of Tamil film celebrities. The study highlights the trend of cyber criminals using celebrities to take advantage of fans seeking more information on their idols.

Actors Arya, Suriya, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vijay, Kamal Hassan, Shruti Hassan, Shriya Saran, Rajinikanth and Dhanush follow Trisha as the top 10 Kollywood celebrities with the highest percentages of risk online.


Cyber criminals often lure unsuspecting supporters to sites laden with malware that can steal passwords and personal information. These criminals capitalise on the public's fascination with the celebrity to lure them to sites laden with malware that enable them to steal passwords and personal information. This year, searching for a celebrity name coupled with the search terms 'wall paper', 'videos' and 'nude pictures' resulted in the highest instances of malware-laden sites, a release from McAfee said.

Commenting on the findings of the study, Venkatasubrahmanyam Krishnapur, vice-president of engineering- consumer and mobile, Business Group, McAfee India Centre, said, "In India where celebrities are given the status of demi gods, cyber criminals often use their names to lure people to sites that actually host malicious software designed to compromise personal details and disrupt devices. By including the names of popular celebrities in a website's search tags, cyber criminals are able to direct more visitors to malicious sites where they may unwittingly sign up for spam or harmful spyware ending up with malware ridden devices."

We had already reported that the much talked about duo Gautham Menon and Suriya will join hands for another film soon. It is said that the project has been put on hold as the director needed some time to rework on his script. The latest from the director himself is that he has reworked the script of Dhruva Natchathiram. Both Suriya and Gautham are eagerly waiting to start this project. Also, Simran will be seen alongside Suriya doing a pivotal character in the movie. Suriya has currently signed films with Gautham Menon, Nalan Kumarasamy and Lingusamy. Suriya pulling out of Dhruva Natchathiram and his striking letter on Gautham Menon are today’s hottest topics of discussion. In a recent development, the actor spoke about his decision in an event. Although he didnt mention the name of the director, it was obvious from his mention of 'Vaaranam Aayiram'.


“I might have been influenced by the impact created by Singam and Singam 2,” said the actor. He also added, “More than work and my profession, I respect relationships. The decision I have taken is just for now. We’re not split forever. We will come back with a stunning project next year. I’m definitely looking forward to our reunion and that will happen for sure.”


Meanwhile, Suriya is all set to begin his project with director Lingusamy very soon. A test shoot with the latest Red Dragon technology happened at the Prasad setup recently. The film will go on floors on November 15th and is expected to release in May 2014. Samantha is pairing up with Suriya in this mega budget project, produced by Thirrupathi Brothers and cinematographer Santosh Sivan, composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and editor Anthony will also be working on the film.

CHENNAI: Income Tax sleuths on Thursday raided the houses and offices of several film personalities, including popular comedian N Santhanam and several leading producers of the Tamil film industry.

I-T (Investigation) additional director Murali Mohan confirmed the raids that began early Thursday. The move upset the film fraternity, coming as a dampener on the eve of Diwali festival. Some big production houses, which released a couple of films, have also been raided.

A senior I-T officer said the film production houses failed to pay taxes to the I-T department. He also alleged that some of these production houses had used unaccounted money to produce the films.

The raids that began at 8am on Thursday were conducted at 30 places in Chennai and one place in Hyderabad and continued through the day. I-T sources said the raids were conducted at actor Santhanam's house near SIET College in Teynampet in Chennai, the Valsaravalkam residence of film producer A M Rathnam, producer R B Choudary's office and house on North Usman Road in T Nagar and producer Gnanavel Raja Vadapalani residence. I-T officials also conducted a raid at one of Rathnam's guest houses in Hyderabad.

The outcome of the raid is yet to be ascertained. I-T officials said they would collect all relevant documents and details to substantiate their charge that these film personalities had accrued wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income. At least 50 I-T officials participated in the raids. Further course of action will be decided based on the documents seized, they said.

The popular comedian actor Chitti Babu has been admitted in Royapettah government hospital due to worse health condition.

The actor has prominently played supporting roles in Tamil films such as Dasavatharam, otran, Boys, Fivestar, Dhool, Sivakasi, Mappillai and many more films.

He had been suffered from Heart problem, and was treated for bypass surgery. He was under rest in home for two years then.

Again he started his acting career in recent days. Just two days back he fainted off, and was admitted in a private hospital in Mogappair.

He went to coma stage apart from doctors effective treatment.

The actor is said to suffer from brain tumor, according to doctors report.

Now Chitti Babu is being treated intensively in Royapettah government hospital.

இதய சிகிச்சை முடிந்து பூரண நலத்துடன் வீடு திரும்பினார் இளையராஜா. சென்னையிலுள்ள பிரசாத் ஸ்டுடியோவில் கடந்த திங்கள்கிழமை (டிசம்பர் -23) இசை நிகழ்ச்சிக்கான ஒத்திகையில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்தபோது இசையமைப்பாளர் இளையராஜாவுக்கு திடீரென நெஞ்சு வலி ஏற்பட்டது. இதையடுத்து அவர் மருத்துவமனையில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டார். அங்கு அவருக்கு கரோனரி ரத்தக் குழாய் அடைப்பை நீக்கும் ஆஞ்சியோபிளாஸ்ட்டி-ஸ்டென்ட் சிகிச்சை செய்யப்பட்டது.

இரண்டு இடங்களில் இருந்த அடைப்புகள் நீக்கப்பட்டன. இளையராஜாவுக்கு பூரண ஓய்வு தேவைப்பட்டதால் மருத்துவமனையிலேயே தங்கி ஓய்வெடுக்க மருத்துவர்கள் அறிவுறுத்தினர். இதனால் செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை முதல் தீவிர சிகிச்சைப் பிரிவில் தங்கி இளையராஜா ஓய்வெடுத்தார். இந் நிலையில் நேற்று வெள்ளிக்கிழமை அவர் வீடு திரும்பினார். மலேசியாவில் இன்று மாலை நடக்கும் கிங் ஆப் கிங்ஸ் என்ற இசை நிகழ்ச்சியில் அவர் பங்கேற்பதாக இருந்தது.
