These are also available in CDs.

R: There are two ' seetha kalyaaNa' compositions. I assumed you wanted this. The other one is 'seethaa kalyaaNa vaibavame'. I will leave it here for a while and delete it since Lakshman has already posted( though transliteration is different.)

Thanks.

R: My knowledge of Telugu is very limited . I learnt some Telugu to understand the compositions of Thyagaraja. I will translate for you what T.S.Parthasarathuy gives in Tamil. It is not a word for word translation. But, you get the general meaning.

laali.......

vanamaali, ( I will pray for your appearence on a swing (oonjal) and) I will rock it saying laali laali. I will look at you(seek your darisanam) with devotion(love).

dheva dheva........

Mahaanubaavaa, I will call you dheva dhevaa! I will(always) think of you in my mind!

raama raama........

You who has no desires( nishkaama) I will chant (japam) saying raamaa raamaa! Come now, you who was worshipped by Shivaa!

kOri kOri...........

You who destroys maayaa, I will serve you willingly(whole heaartedly). Chanting prayer about you (bhajanai) is the right path for human beings.

raaja raaja.........

I will praise you as king of kings! I will bow to you as the king of Thyagaraja!

R: You always lose somethinng in translation, But, you should get a feel for what Thyagaraja was saying! This composition comes under uthsava sampradhaaya kirthana.

Thanks a lot, Mr.Lakshman & Mr.Rajraj.

Mr.Rajraj, yr job is simply wonderful. I adore this song so much and cant believe that you have learnt a bit(!!??) just to enjoy Sri.Tyagaraja's. On seeing yr translation, dont think so.

You are right that we will lose something while doing the translation. I do feel very bad for not knowing a few more languages particularly to enjoy all of his keerthanas. Too late!!!!!!

Once again, thank you and Bye.

Hi Mr.Rajraj and Mr.Lakshman,

Pls hear the wedding songs by Priya sisters in musicindiaonline. There is one song which I have mentioned below and let me know whether it is cine music or any private album(sorry could not find out or lyrics from karnatik.com).

Seethamma Meeyaththa..

Also, happened to hear seetha kalyana vaibhogame which is a different version from what you have given..If at all, not too much to ask, can you pls give me the lyrics for them too?

Sorry for the inconvenience, if any(of course it is..).

Thanks and Regards.

R: I listened to the songs. They sound like songs prevalent in Andhra Pradesh and also recent compositions. I have to listen to them a few times to find the right lyrics. Patience! :)

Except for the pallavi line, the words for sItA kalyANa are totally different from those composed by Tyagaraja. I have seen another version in a bhajana book where the pallavi and anupallavi are the same nad caraNAs are different.
(some of the words may be incorrect since the text was in tamil):

C1: shrI rAmacandrulaku sOpanamu nEDu prEmatO bandhuvulun piluvanambuduru
2: ikSvAku vamshamuna puTTina harini rakSimpamani mrokke tanurAghavulu
3: guTnambu peTTamani yatnambu jEsi guTnambu kaikAla paripUrNa mukhanu
4: citrapu mEDalO koluvu gUDAla mutyAla tOraNulu gaTTiri vAru
5: rANincu nI lAla kampAla naDuma mANikya dIpalE nettirivAru

The other song sItamma is in the hindustani rAgA pIlu but I don't know if it from a film.
