Hi friends,
Please share what all indian dishes your foreign friends have liked(westerners, not thai/chinki). For multicultural cookouts in my workplace, i have not meet able to think of anything other than payasam as i dont know what indian item will be okay to american tastes.

In out team we bring in food for birthdays..
I normally make
1) urud dhal vada
2) samosas
3) bread cutlet
4) bread vada
5) spinach dhal vada
6) coconut burfi
7) carrot halwa
all the snacks are cooked with pepper and not chilles I serve them
with mint chuttney, tomatto sauce..
and they love everything (whtih less speicy though) ..

I once sent paalak paneer to my husband's workplace, and it was a big hit. It was Hemant ji's recipe with the chilly-factor toned down.

Some of my american friends love murukku, ribbon pakoda and thattai. rose milk and lassi. some love sambhar and rice, bisibellebath, dosa , even idly, okra fry, chicken kolambu, chappathi, fried rice and biryani. (all less spicy)
