What's in a Cup ?

Hello friends,

Just now I found the measurements in cup from the Nita Mehta's book.

Here it is.

Indian Cup

1 teacup = 200 ml liquid

American Cup
1 cup = 240 ml liquid (8 oz)

Is this cup is equivalent to the measuring cup we get along with the electric rice cooker? in that cup it says 1/2,1/4/3/4 one side and the other side- 40,80,120,160. It means 160 ml. or 240ml?Please clarify!
