Though Sanskirt was classified as an Indo-European language, it grew up in India and the Indo-European element in it should be considered neglible. (Kritz)

Sankstrit is going to be a dead langauge. Sanskrit is not easy to learn. Holy books of hindu religion were written in sanskrit. Regional language versions of those books are easily available in market. There is no need for any person to learn sanskrit.
