Style in Indian Music

The word Style in Indian Music has not been defined properly. It is rather a modern requirement of connoisseurs to use the word and concept of style for some process in music. I am presently doing a serious study regarding the development of style in Indian Music and Karnatic Music, in particular.
I would request intersted persons to visit http://groups-beta.google.com/group/Indian-Musicology where in I have made some observations regarding experimental research done regarding style in Indian Music.
I would also like to send a quetionnaire (in .doc format) to interested persons to participate actively in this research giving their views about the concept and philosophy of style.

I think style remotely meaning Bani will better establish the subject and will invite more discussion from the hubbers. So hubbers can identify with Bani and clearly state what they feel about Style (Bani)...
