Has anybody read the book "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" by John Perkins. I have not read the book but read a long interview with him at:

The gist of it is very similar to that about the American attempts at the domination of the world described by Gore Vidal and others. I started wondering whether this is fact or fiction. Then I saw a BBC documentary "Dying for Drugs" with similar allegations about drug companies. A review of this is in : http://news.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=564402003
Now allegations about a nexus between the US Govt. and drug companies are emerging in various sites. Are these the periodic conspiracy theories or is there is something in these allegations? Of course, it is also possible that there may be conspiracies but the world goes on nevertheless. I would like some references and inputs on these topics. Thanks and regards,
