My Introductory-Note is very Clear... that this Thread will be FAR DIFFERENT by Scope and Sense... in comparison to other THreads on the same Poet Kannadasan.

Even the Title of the Thread DEFINES it Clearly... highlighting the importance of WORDS..... which implies its Literature Values....

This can or may be a Fore-runner to further explore such Literature- Values of the similar other Great Lyrics of Papanasam Sivan, Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram, Marudhakasi and such other memorable Sculptors also pertaining to Musical Literature in Tamil Cine- Palace.

On Re-thinking NOW I feel.. this suits Best in the Literature Section... because the Topic will be dealt in that angle.

Accordingly I have changed the Topic-Tiltle to eliminate the possibiity of such doubts from any body else in future.

(1) I intend posting and discussing in Tamil..... being the Tamil-content.... I am quite FIRM on it ... as a matter of principle.

Firstly, I think your presentation is down-to-earth, and the posts should interest anyone interested in tamil.
Secondly, I want to clarify this forum is not just for music & entertainment. There are several people very much interested in the literature. You just have to check out the symposium threads here:

to see it. I remember there was a discussion on why kavignar used 'karuNai' in the line 'andha karuNaikku naan parisu thanthen thottilin mele' (the song was: 'neerodum vaiyagiyile'). It created a hot debate leading to a long thread. On just one word! Like once you took up the word 'adi' and went 'adi mEl adi' to great depths. So the interest is definitely there for such analysis. Pls don't hesistate to continue here. I'm sure your posts will be relished by many.

Posting in tamil should not be an issue at all. As you can see from the lyrics threads here, many are already posting with tamil fonts. Well.. you can see it in this thread itself!

Besides 'antha sivagamiyin maganidam' Kannadhasan has also written the song 'sendru vaa magane sendru vaa' for Kamaraj when the latter was invited to attend a meeting in the United Nations. Being illiterate in English he had inferiority complex but Kannadhasan prompted him through this song. The other song was 'ambigaye easwariye ennai aalavantha koil konda kungumakari' in 'Pattikaada Pattanamaa' where the line 'sivagamayin umayavale muthu maari un selvanakkum kaalam undu muthu maari, maharajan vaazhga endru vaazhthu koori intha makkal ellam koora vendum kottaiyeri' was aimed at Kamaraj to recapture the Chief Minister's seat.('kottai'in this context means the CM'S fort). Another song in 'Paadikaatha Meythai'was also meant for Kamaraj. The song is 'padipathinaal arivu petror ayiram peyr undu aanal padikaatha meythai ellam paarinil undu'. When Kannadhasan fell out with Annadurai he wrote the song "annan kaatiya vazhi amma' for the film 'Padithal Mattum Pothuma'and the same year (1962) 'engiranthalum vaazhga' in the film 'Nenjil Oor Aalayam' also for Anna. When he lost the elections he wrote the song 'yaarai engey vaiputhu endru yaarukum theriyile' (Bale Paandiya)and when he temporarily decided to quit politics in 1962 he penned the song 'satti suttathadaa kai vittathadaa' (Aalayamani).
