Recently i have listened to Aruna Sairam,music album. It is really nice. In it there was a piece called Abhang. What exactly is Abhang?Could any explain?

I think it's just a devotional song of a unique style. A web page says

The word Abhang in Marathi means A + Bhang translated as un + break thus giving us the tradition that cannot be forgotten.

Abhangs are to Marathi what Pasurams are to Tamil or what Bhajans are to Hindi. Most of the Marathi saints composed songs called abhangs.

To add a little more, abhangs were often philosophical in content and meaning. They were like religous discourses in song that combined both philosophy and devotion - Bhakthi with Jnana. Classic examples are abhangs of Namdev, Jananadev and Tukaram.
