A public interest litigation petition has been raised @Eluthu.com (a social website for Tamil people) to the Tamil Nadu Government to close all retail wine shops in order to discourage people from consuming alcohol.
Alcohol consumption in developing countries like India had increased rapidly. There were about 62.5 million consumers in the country.
What was causing worry was that boys and girls were taking to liquor due to a highly disposable income, lack of parental supervision, changing societal norms and peer pressure. More and more people, irrespective of age, have easy access to drinks.
The petition here is to urge the State government to close all TASMAC retail wine shops to save young adults from getting addict to it.
Let us try to stop this. Vote for this public petition and let the state government know the public opinions.
