Inexplicably my discriminatory taste of movie content is extremely peculiar and unchanging! Very hard to please. It is long since I stopped watching movies- very rare rave reviews draw me to the theatre. My children knowing my incorrigible, uncompromising standards choose some safe movies and make me watch them when I visit them. In the past one week I watched 3 satisfactory movie videos.
"un samayalaraiyil" was a real treat. I enjoyed watching it. A clean, sensible, interesting drama.
"arimaa nambi" was again a good entertainer. Highly technologically conceived story. I wondered if the movie will reach well the B and C sector audience. The kids say yes, no area in these days is backward in knowledge of modern technology, they say. Good!
Lastly I watched "saivam". Superb! Very nice story. All the characters- without exception- have been chiselled with beauty and naturalness. I won't be surprised if the nice entertainer evokes some blah blah about vegetarianism versus nonvegetarianism and taunt deeprooted religious rituals of the masses!
