வருண் ஆரோனின் பந்து வீச்சுக்கு தடை

இந்த ஆட்டத்தில் ரன்களை தாறுமாறாக வாரி வழங்கிய இந்திய வேகப்பந்து வீச்சாளர் வருண் ஆரோன், 39–வது ஓவரில் வங்காளதேச கேப்டன் முஷ்பிகுர் ரஹிமுக்கு ஒரு பந்தை புல்–டாசாக வீசினார். அதை எதிர்கொண்ட ரஹிமுக்கு இடது கையில் பந்து தாக்கி காயம் ஏற்பட்டது. வலியால் துடித்து கீழே விழுந்த அவருக்கு உடனடியாக சிகிச்சை அளிக்கப்பட்டது.

இடுப்புக்கு மேலே புல்டாசாக பந்து வீசினால் அதற்கு ‘பீமர்’ என்று பெயர். பந்து வீச்சாளர் ஒருவர், ஒரு இன்னிங்சில் ஒரு முறைக்கு மேல் பீமர் வகை பந்து வீசினால் அதற்கு மேல் அந்த இன்னிங்சில் பந்து வீச அனுமதி மறுக்கப்படும். வருண் ஆரோன் தனது முந்தைய ஓவரில் அனுமல் ஹக்கும், இவ்வாறு பந்து வீசியிருந்தார். இதனால் 7.5 ஓவருடன் அவரது பந்து வீச்சுக்கு நடுவர்கள் தடை விதித்தனர். எஞ்சிய ஒரு பந்தை விராட் கோலி வீசி முடித்தார்.

24 வயதான வருண் ஆரோன் 7.5 ஓவர்கள் பந்துவீசி 74 ரன்களை அள்ளிக்கொடுத்து ஒரு விக்கெட் மட்டுமே எடுத்தார்.

Ind Vs Pak match was a feel good match though we lost. India's never-give-up attitude shown during last 10 overs was a welcome one. Such matches need to happen more and more. Closer ending matches teach us a lot in terms of team integrity. How many times, Rahane hit the stumps with his extraordinary fielding skills. We never seen such show in ODIs in past. The first ball of last over of the match from Ashwin was beauty. Being a spinner, Ashwin should have judged Afridi's foot position and pitched the ball either closer to leg or deliver an over full toss. Anyway, everything happened.
