"We saw in him what we seek in ourselves. And in him we saw so much of ourselves," South African President Jacob Zuma said. "Nelson Mandela brought us together and it is together that we will bid him farewell."

I feel that Zuma was speaking for all of humankind!

I personally feel grateful and proud that I lived during a period of time when Nelson Mandala's struggle in the Gandhian mode transformed South Africa into a tolerant and democratic society where people were/are respected irrespective of what colour their skin is, what language they speak, and what religion they believe in!

Rest in peace, Sir! You made this world a much better place; just by being yourself! Thank you!

Obama, world leaders praise 'giant of history' at Mandela memorial

Mandela's gift for uniting foes across political and racial divides was still evident at the service. Walking up the stairs onto the stage to deliver his speech, Obama shook hands with [Raul] Castro, an unprecedented gesture between the leaders of two nations that have been at loggerheads for more than half a century.
