'Kaththi' Advance Booking Starts, Vijay Fans Go Crazy

The advance booking for 'Kaththi' has kick-started with a bang. The fans of Ilayathalapathy Vijay have gone crazy over the development and are giving stupendous response to the pre-booking of the movie tickets.

On Wednesday, 15 October, some theatres in Tamil Nadu opened up the counters to sell the tickets of 'Kaththi' for the opening day. A few theatres in Tirunelvelli and other regions have started the advance booking and the response has been really good.

As of now, the theatres have opened booking for the first day and the booking for the entire week might start from Friday, 17 October. In Chennai and other parts of the state, the pre-booking for 'Kaththi' will start from the coming weekend.

Demand Like Never Before
The hype over 'Kaththi' has reached sky high as there is a huge craze around the movie. The five-day festive weekend will boost the sales of the ticket like never before, says a trade tracker. The theatre owners are now forced to increase the number of shows to meet the demand. While single screens will start early shows, multiplexes will increase their screen counts to cash in on the occasion.

Government's Special Permit for Early Shows
The theatres have reportedly got the state government's permission to start early shows. As it is the festive season, the government has approved the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association's request to increase the shows. Both the Diwali releases ("Kaththi" & "Poojai") will benefit from it.

Festive Release Comes as Boon to Multiplexes
The occasion comes as a big boon for multiplexes. Without any restrictions, they can have any number of shows of 'Kaththi' and other movies. To meet the demand, they are going to increase the show. And some multiplexes are likely to dedicate their entire screens to the Vijay's film on the release and the following days.

Records Number of Shows In Chennai
In Chennai alone, Kaththi' will register a record number of shows. The count might easily cross 600, which by any margin, is good.

The trailer of Vijay's "Kaththi" was expected to release last weekend. But till now, there are no signs of its release. This has left the Ilayathalapathy's fans wondering why it has been delayed. There are speculations that it would be released a day or two before the film hits the screens and also some say that the delay in the release might work as a brilliant strategy to avoid unnecessary troubles.

It was speculated that the "Kaththi" trailer would be released last week. But it disappointed the fans and many hoped that it would come out this week. Now, we hear that the trailer release has been delayed intentionally and it is likely to release 48 hours before the film release. Indeed, the delay has frustrated the fans, who have been waiting to see the latest video clip with bated breath.

AR Murugadoss Adopts Two Birds at One Stone Strategy
AR Murugadoss seems to have adopted two-birds-in-one-stone strategy by delaying the trailer release of "Kaththi". The first reason is that the makers of the film did not want to get into unnecessary troubles. In many cases, there were objections over the content after just watching a film's trailer. And Vijay's latest film has been facing a lot of issues.

So, the delay in the trailer release will ensure that the flick will have a trouble-free release. This is also evident in its low-key promotions. Usually, a Vijay starrer is publicised well. This time, we cannot see much of it. Another reason is that the delay might disappoint Vijay's fans but it will definitely increase the curiosity levels of the fans.
Considering these two reasons, the makers have reportedly delayed the release of the latest trailer. Vijay's "Jilla" trailer was also delayed and came out just a day before the film released.

'Kaththi' leads the Diwali race by some distance

The final count regards to the cinema halls for ‘Kaththi’ & ‘Poojai’ has come, and going by the data, Vijay’s ‘Kaththi’ is getting released in more than 1500 cinema halls all over the world, while ‘Poojai’ manages to find 1100 screens for the big day. This is the biggest ever release for both the stars and the first weekend is going to be very crucial for both the movies in terms of collections.

Apparently, the 1500 screens for ‘Kaththi’ is only for its Tamil version, and the Telugu version (dubbed) will be making its way for October 31st. The advance booking for both the movies have already started in overseas and its just a matter of time in TN to start the proceedings. Now it is up to you to decide which one to watch FDFS!

TRAILER ANALYSIS OF KATHTHI

Well, the expectations for Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay is sky-rocketing and just before two days of the film release, AR Murugadoss has released the trailer of the film. Let's quickly analyze the trailer here...

What really works?
The lynchpin of Kaththi trailer is its cinematography and racy cuts. George C Wlliams has used different color tones for different scenes and it is something to watch out for. Also the cuts in shots like Vijay escaping from a jail, bunch of people invading into a house are pulsating along with Anirudh's background score.
Acting wise, Neil Nitin Mukesh has nailed his role with typical urban villainous look and his dialogue delivery is uber cool. Of course, we can't finish the note without commenting on Ilaiyathalapathy's performance in the 96 secs trailer. Going by the array of shots shown in the trailer, Kaththi has everything which Vijay could do with ease, there is an emotional - revolutionary dialogue "Arici, Parupu, Kaikari, Kothamali, Karuvapla varaikum Kramathila itunthu varanum aana oru Kramathan sethana Mooka mudikuvangala... local channel la irunthu... national channel varaikum epdi varanganu parunga" and Vijay's dialogue deliver in that scene is splendid.
The film is likely to have some comedy sequence at the airport and some feel good romantic portions which are a regular thing in AR Murugadoss' film.

Things which are left to be judged only after watching the film in big screen:
The trailer of Kaththi has also reminds us of some films like Kuruvi, Sura and Thalaivaa, where Vijay has acted as a messiah who saves people in a particular locality but being a director who is known for handling social problems very well one could expect something different from AR Murugadoss and for that we have to wait till the release of the film.
Also AR Murugadoss also known for garnering a film with some interesting elements like 'Anti Corruption Force', 'Short Term Memory Loss', ' Bodhi Dharman', 'Sleeper cells' in his films and we are hearing that 'Gasoline factory' and its ill effects are the main theme for Kaththi but can confirm it only after watching the film.

Bottom Line:
As of now, Kaththi looks like a pucca commercial movie with a message but still Thuppakki remains to be Vijay's best trailer.
