Really funny and hilarious to see that a person goes to the extent of taking a video, spending time to comment about the film (and also a hubber has taken pains to post this). Instead he could have watched a good movie Kaththi. But he didn't choose instead he felt it is better to comment on Ajith and Ajith's movie. If they are able to pick out good ideas and indianize it, what's wrong? Memento, if remade frame by frame, would've been a disaster in TN BO. But ARM took the short term memory loss, tattooing and made a clever improvisation. Aamir, one knowledgeable person in Indian cinema would ever agree to do a copied film?

The T Rex intro in Jurassic Park became the intros for Ajith and Chiru in Dheena and Stalin respectively. The basic plot of Stalin was inspired by a Hollywood film too. ARM's assistant Anand Shankar lifted the S05E24 of television series 24 and made the climax of Arima Nambi. It all happens. :)

It has nothing to blame Vijay in this .. I seriously have a doubt with Murugadoss on understanding on social issues . He is a great technician and good director , But he already exposed his ignorance and lack of inner sight in his previous movies .. and the worst part if whatever gopi says is true then ARM shouldn't have used Ajith's name when he not even told the story to Ajith just for some media mileage and then going on to do a movie with Vijay with the story which was planned for Ajith but not yet even told once to Ajith. Box Office Collection: 'Kaththi' Emerges as Vijay's Highest Grosser in Karnataka, Beats 'Thuppakki'

"Kaththi" has grossed ₹8 crore in nine days and has outperformed "Thuppakki" collections in the state. The action entertainer had already surpassed the collections of Vijay's "Jilla" and "Thalaivaa", and it has now become the biggest grossing Vijay film in Karnataka.

The flick has already emerged as the highest grossing Tamil film of the year in India, by raking in more than ₹47 crore in just a few days. "Kaththi" worldwide collections have crossed the ₹80 crore mark and will soon reach the ₹100 crore mark. Its performance has been rocksteady in overseas markets where it has earned more than ₹20 crore.

"Kaththi", which hit the screens on 22 October, has worked wonders at the box office. The second-time collaboration of Vijay and AR Murugadoss has struck gold with the film emerging as successful. The film is expected to beat "Thuppakki" worldwide collection, which is more than ₹100 crore.

Vijay's performance, the film's dialogues, mass elements, social message, Anirudh's music and background score have been some of the major highlights of "Kaththi".

Following the tremendous success of the film, there seems to have been a huge demand for the film's remake rights. There was buzz that some Telugu filmmakers wanted to remake "Kaththi" with Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. But Pawan reportedly decided not to do a remake as he felt the story would not suit his image. Meanwhile, latest reports suggest that "Kaththi" Telugu dubbed version will hit the screens on 21 November.

There are speculations that the Vijay starrer might get remade in Hindi, with Akshay Kumar in the lead role. It may be recalled that Akshay had worked with Murugadoss in the Bollywood remake of "Thuppakki". The film turned out to be a big hit at the box office and earned more than ₹100 crore. If reports of "Kaththi" Hindi remake turn out to be true, it will be interesting to see if the film will be able to reprise the success of the original version. As of now, there has been no official information on "Kaththi" remake in any language.

Meanwhile, "Kaththi" actor Vijay and director Murugadoss will soon start focusing on their next projects. While Vijay will commence the shooti for his next film with Chimbudevan, Murugadoss is all set to team up with Sonakshi Sinha for a Bollywood film.

"The film is unarguably the biggest Tamil blockbuster of the year. In its first week, it has collected a whopping Rs 82 crore at the ticket window. It should touch the Rs 100 crore mark by this weekend," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

Rarely will you find a Tamil film minting over Rs 100 crore.

"It's a rare feat because Tamil films don't have pan India release, unlike Hindi films. Moreover, the tickets prices in Tamil Nadu have a cap. Keeping all this in mind, what Kaththi has achieved is truly phenomenal," he said.

Other Tamil films that have collected over Rs 100 crore include Rajinikanth's Enthiran and Thuppakki, which was also directed by Murugadoss.

Starring Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead, the film addresses the plight of farmers, whose lands are being taken over by multinational companies.

If Kaththi manages to enter the Rs.100 crore club, it will be third time for Murugadoss in a row after Thuppakki and Holiday.

2. 7 AM Arivu was his title
3. A few scenes from Atta Kaththi and Madras were blatent copies
4. All Scenes including the Idly Communism dialogue in kaththi are his
5. The 'Stop-Water' pipe episode was an idea suggested casually by him to Jagen who passed it on to ARM

Watched Kaththi with family @kasi theaters @ 11:30 show today.

Preferred Kasi because I couldn't get 8 tickets in any of the multiplex shows for today. Have been trying since Friday.

Have watched Vijay movies second/third times during second weekends or later on multiple previous occasions, but nothing quite matches to today's.

The crowd was fantastic. Not a full family crowd, but a good mix of Vijay's fans lapping up a repeat show along with first-time family audience. Fantastic response and a full house.

Enjoyed Jeevanantham and Kathiresan even more this time and judging by the way the audience have loved this movie, I am sure, this will be one of the most important movies in Vijay's career. Sure, this will catapult him to another level all together :)

Walked out a Happy and a Proud fan :)

His story 'Mooththa Kudi' was published in Junior Vikatan couple of weeks back. Except for a multinational beverage company trying to land its foot on a TN village and the hero stopping it, I didn't find anything common between the two scripts. Its a common thing happening in our country and anybody can make a story with this as the theme. Eg: Child trafficking formed the basic plot of Vidiyum Mun, 6 candles, Mardani (H) and Thira (M). That doesn't mean they stole the story.

If Gopi is dumb enough to let go seventh sense, Madras scripts and still allowed someone to steal his script, god only can save him.

Absolutely agree with Cedy here. I think this Gopi guy was sleeping on this until now. Tried it through court and crap interviews earlier. ..and when nothing worked...he now uses this tactic of mentioning another actor so he could use the anti-Vijay card to get his version heard and spread..and try to gain some mileage. As Moviebuff says. .best is to wait and let things get proved through some real facts and proof instead of people jumping to conclusions based on some interview of his.

As some of you already pointed out, Kaththi is a story that gives a social message using some facts like cola company trying to set shop in a state, water scarcity/irrigation issues, farmer suicides, etc...which are there all over the internet for public consumption..anyone can use these and make a story. ARM has picked these and made a knockout script. If his claims of the exact scenes/story abt Kaththi, 7am, Madras are really true...he is to be blamed for not using the copyright act to defend himself.

Kathi Trolls – Who cares on messages?

If you are wondering that i am going to defend Vijay from recent Kathi trolls, you are wrong. This post is just to express my anguish how educated youths, so called future generation, are wasting their energy in such stupid activities discarding a vital message.

Many of us might have received a lot of trolls depicting actor Vijay like an opportunist, who is playing double game for Money. The reason being his casting in a recent movie Kathi as a social activist while he promoted one of the soft drinks in the past. Seriously is this the message you fellows take from such a powerful dialogue in that scene? If so i feel very bad and worried about the intellectual level we have attained so far.

Our passion towards an individual should not blind our common sense to ignore a good message from his counterpart.

Nobody bothered to care about the facts conveyed in the climax dialogue. I have not seen a single forward on acknowledging those facts or any vows / resolutions,that vanishes by time, to stop using products that are killing agriculture. Rather i see anti Vijay messages being forwarded all over the social media. Are we so dump to let our worthless emotions to take over? If so please tear your degrees certificates and join in a kinder garden to redo your education that imparts values in to your life.

The reason for me to go so hard on this is another foolish forward that did rounds in social media last week. That was about the mobile internet strike on 30th Oct 14 to oppose the raising mobile internet cost. That message was so stupid that it claimed to create a huge loss to mobile industry just when users stop using internet for a day and on the top it linked our PM for promoting it. Once again i would like to disclaim that i am not a Vijay fan trying to defend Kathi…. I accept it had laughable scenes like Kathiresan having a vision of drainage lines under the table just by seeing the blueprints over the table. Also questions like how did Kathiresan became so genius suddenly to solve the long pending case? And depiction of Jivanantham as a simple man without much courage at the same time being activist that contradicts. Yesterday, when I was sharing my concerns about lack of fast floor movements in Vijay's songs these days to my wife, she raised a very valid point.

She opined that, Vijay's stunts these days, they are wonderfully choreographed with all his trademark moments viz., the flip-back-to-position after falling, the jump-kick, the 180 degree dive which was part of his intro in Jilla and now in his fight with the Box News reporters'.. Infact, these stunts are as graceful as his heavy dancing moves. Just his physique, agility and flexibility to the core in these stunts. Instead of force-adding the floor movements in songs, instead they can make it as graceful/realistic in songs and reserve the rest for his fight stunts.

Couldn't agree more with her.

Vijay can dance gracefully both for songs and for stunts. Whatta legend!

Vijay – AR Murugadoss’s Kaththi has raked in over 100 crores at the box-office. The film has grossed 65.1 crores in Tamil Nadu, 20.2 crores in overseas and 15.4 crores from the rest of India, where Karnataka and Kerala have the lion’s share. Today, Kaththi's music director Anirudh tweeted that Kaththi reportedly grossed 100 crores worldwide by the end of its twelfth day . According to Anirudh the Tamil Nadu gross collection is 65.1cr, overseas collection is 20.2 crores and rest of India gross collection is 15.4 crores. and the worst part if whatever gopi says is true then ARM shouldn't have used Ajith's name when he not even told the story to Ajith just for some media mileage and then going on to do a movie with Vijay with the story which was planned for Ajith but not yet even told once to Ajith. Box Office Collections: Vijay's 'Kaththi' Collects ₹ 100 Crores in 12 Days!

Vijay's star power has worked big time again as he has registered his name in the ₹ 100-crore-club again. Yes, his "Kaththi" has made a hit a century in 12 days and the news has been formally announced by music director Anirudh Ravichander.

On his Twitter page, Anirudh Ravichander has revealed the news and said that Vijay's movie has made 65.1 crores in Tamil Nadu and it has earned ₹ 15.4 crores from the overseas market. This is Vijay's second movie after his blockbuster "Thuppakki". This film had taken two weeks to reach the ₹ 100-crore mark and his latest movie has made it in just 12 days, which is a new record for the Ilayathalapathy. It is interesting to note that both the films are helmed by AR Murugadoss.
"Kaththi" was released on October 22 with huge expectations from the audience. After facing a lot of troubles over the release, the Tamil film released with a bang in above 1000 screens worldwide. The Vijay and Samantha starrer movie took a stunning opening and made 23.45 crores on the first day.
It is not the domestic collection that surprised traders but the response it got in foreign countries as it earned more than seven crores on the release day. "Kaththi" managed to retain its momentum in the five-day extended weekend.
In the first weekend, "Kaththi" made around 36 crores from Tamil Nadu and about 11 crores from the international circuits. The major chunk of share from overseas has been contributed in Malaysia where the Vijay's film got a never-before reception.
In the following days, the collections were expected to slow down but the AR Murugadoss directorial movie managed to attract good audience in the week days too. This helped the Tamil movie to reach the ₹ 100-crore mark in just 12 days.
"Kaththi" has become the fourth Tamil movie to reach the mark after Rajnikanth's "Sivaji", "Enthiran" and Vijay's "Thuppakki".

Kathi Trolls – Who cares on messages?

If you are wondering that i am going to defend Vijay from recent Kathi trolls, you are wrong. This post is just to express my anguish how educated youths, so called future generation, are wasting their energy in such stupid activities discarding a vital message.

Many of us might have received a lot of trolls depicting actor Vijay like an opportunist, who is playing double game for Money. The reason being his casting in a recent movie Kathi as a social activist while he promoted one of the soft drinks in the past. Seriously is this the message you fellows take from such a powerful dialogue in that scene? If so i feel very bad and worried about the intellectual level we have attained so far.

Our passion towards an individual should not blind our common sense to ignore a good message from his counterpart.

Nobody bothered to care about the facts conveyed in the climax dialogue. I have not seen a single forward on acknowledging those facts or any vows / resolutions,that vanishes by time, to stop using products that are killing agriculture. Rather i see anti Vijay messages being forwarded all over the social media. Are we so dump to let our worthless emotions to take over? If so please tear your degrees certificates and join in a kinder garden to redo your education that imparts values in to your life.

The reason for me to go so hard on this is another foolish forward that did rounds in social media last week. That was about the mobile internet strike on 30th Oct 14 to oppose the raising mobile internet cost. That message was so stupid that it claimed to create a huge loss to mobile industry just when users stop using internet for a day and on the top it linked our PM for promoting it. People were smart enough to spread that message as they felt this is the foremost issue our PM is having in his hand to be solved at once with their support.

Most know Aegan is unofficial remake of MainHoona......There are 100 cases of Unofficial remakes Soldier to Villu etc
