மக்கள் திலகத்தின் ''இதயக்கனி '' முதல் நாள் ,முதல் காட்சியின் அனுபவம் .


வேலூர் நகரம் - கிருஷ்ணா அரங்கில் திரையிடப்பட்ட முதல் படம் மக்கள் திலகத்தின் ''நாளை நமதே''. 4.7.1975 முதல் 21.8.1975 வரை 49 நாட்கள் நல்ல வசூலுடன் ஓடிவந்தது .கடைசி நாள் அன்று மாலை காட்சியும் இரவு காட்சியும் அரங்கு நிறைந்தது .

22.8.1975 நள்ளிரவு முதல் மக்கள் திலகத்தின் ரசிகர்கள் ஆயிரக்கணக்கில் திரண்டு வந்தனர் .காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் படம் வெளியாகததால் அங்கிருந்து பெரும் ரசிகர்கள் வேலூர் -கிருஷ்ணா அரங்கிற்கு வந்த சேந்தனார் .

22.8.1975 காலை 9 மணிக்கு இதயக்கனி சிறப்பு காட்சி துவங்கும் முன்பு அன்றைய அண்ணா திமுக நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் திரு ஜி .விஸ்வநாதன் , மற்றும் வேலூர் நகர எம்ஜிஆர் மன்ற நிர்வாகிகள் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்புரை ஆற்றிய பின் படம் துவங்கியது .

ஆரம்ப காட்சியில் அண்ணாவின் குரலில் மக்கள் திலகம் அவரது இதயத்தில் தோன்றும் காட்சியில் அரங்கமே அதிர்ந்து போகும் அளவிற்கு கை தட்டலும் விசிலும் அமர்க்களப்பட்டது .
டைட்டில் காட்சி மிகவும் புதுமையாக மெல்லிசை மன்னரின் இசை பிரமிக்க வைத்தது . ஆரம்ப பாடல் காட்சியில் காவிரியின் பெருமைகளுடன் மக்கள் திலகத்தின் பெருமையை ஒப்பிட்டு இடம் பெற்ற பாடல் சூப்பர்.

பின்னர் காட்சிக்கு காட்சி விறுவிறுப்பும் ,மக்கள் திலகத்தின் நடிப்பு , பாடல்கள் , சண்டை காட்சிகள்
வசனங்கள் எல்லாம் ரசிகர்களுக்கு விருந்து . முதல் காட்சியிலே படத்தின் வெற்றியின் அறிகுறி
தெரிந்தது .

கிருஷ்ணா அரங்கில் 100 நாட்கள் ஓடிய முதல் படம் என்ற பெருமை - இதயக்கனிக்கு உண்டு .

தங்கள் வாக்கியத்திலும் தலைவரின் முகத்திலும் அழகு மிளிர்கிறது. அதனால்தான் இதுவரை தமிழகத்தை ஆண்ட முதலமைச்சர்களிலே, முதல்வராக நம் முப்பிறவி கண்ட முதல்வர் திகழ்கிறார். எந்த முதல்வரும் தன்னுடைய சொந்த உழைப்பில் வந்த பணத்தை நாட்டு மக்களுக்காக செலவிடவில்லை. தான் கஷ்டப்பட்டு நடித்து ஈட்டிய செல்வங்கள் அனைத்தையும் எழைசெல்வங்களின் நலனுக்காகவே செலவிட்ட பொன்மனச்செம்மல் அவர். எனவேதான் எந்த முதலமைச்சரும் இடம்பெற முடியாத மக்களின் இதயத்தில் இன்றும் குடியிருந்து வருகிறார்.

தமிழகத்தை இன்றும் ஆளும் தர்மதேவனின் குடும்ப சந்திப்பு

புதுச்சேரியிலிருந்து நானும், பொன்மனச்செம்மல் எம்ஜிஆர் அறக்கட்டளை நிர்வாகிகளும் நான்கு நாள் சுற்றுலாவாக தமிழ்நாடு மற்றும் கேரளாவிற்கு (ஆலப்புழா) சென்றோம். இதை சுற்றுலா என்பதை விட எங்கள் இதய தெய்வம் எம்ஜிஆர் அவர்களால் ஒருங்கிணைக்கப்பட்ட குடும்ப நண்பர்களின் சந்திப்பு என்றும் சொல்லலாம். அந்த நண்பர்கள் எங்கள் மீது காட்டிய பரிவு, பாசம், விருந்தோம்பல் ஆகிய இனிய நினைவுகளை உங்களிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறேன். முன்பெல்லாம், புதுச்சேரியிலிருந்து தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கு செல்லும்போது ஏதோ ஒரு புதிய இடத்திற்கு செல்வது போல சென்று வருவோம். ஆனால் இப்போது நம் சொந்தங்கள் தமிழ்நாடு முழுவதும் பரவியிருக்கிற சந்தோஷத்தில் சென்று வருவது ஒரு புதிய அனுபவம். நம் பொன்மனச்செம்மல் படைத்த இதயத்தின் இதயங்கள் அல்லவா அவர்கள். கனிவுக்கும், பரிவிற்கும் கேட்க வேண்டுமா? நம் தலைவர் நமக்கு விட்டு சென்ற சொந்தங்கள் அல்லவா? இவர்கள் பாசத்திற்கு இணை ஏது?

15.08.2013 அன்று காலை 11.30 மணிக்கு எங்கள் பயணம் தொடர்ந்தது. அன்று இரவு தேனியில் தங்குவதற்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்வதாக திருப்பூர் ரவிச்சந்திரன் அவர்கள் கூறியிருந்தார். மதிய உணவை உளுந்தூர்பேட்டை சாலையோரத்தில் இருந்த ஒரு ஓட்டலில் (ஆர்ய பவன் என்று நினைக்கிறேன்) சாப்பிட்டோம். அந்த ஓட்டலில் விற்பனைக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த புத்தங்களில், தேச தலைவர்கள் மகாத்மா காந்தி, அம்பேத்கர், பகத்சிங், மத்தியில் நம் பாரத ரத்னாவின் 'வாத்யார்' புத்தகம். திரு. முத்துக்குமரன் ஆசிரியர். அதில் அவர் கொடுத்திருந்த சப்-டைட்டில் "ஆயிரம் தன்னம்பிக்கை நூல்கள் தராத உத்வேகத்தை எம்ஜிஆரின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாறு தந்துவிடும். எவ்வளவு பெரிய உண்மை.

பயணத்தின் முதலில் திண்டுக்கல்லில் திரு. மலரவன் அவர்களை சந்தித்தோம். பெயருக்கேற்றாற்போல் மலரின் மென்மையை மனதில் கொண்ட சொந்தம். அவர் கொடுத்த தேநீரும், பழச்சாறும் அதனுடன் கலந்த அவர் விருந்தோம்பலும் இன்னும் இனிக்கிறது. அவர் உருவாக்கும் புரட்சித்தலைவர் மணி மண்டபம் மற்றும் சில ஆக்கபூர்வ விஷயங்களை அளவளாவி விட்டு விடை பெற்றோம். இடையிடையே இனிய நண்பர் ரவிச்சந்திரன் அவர்கள், தன் இடையறாத பணியிலும், எங்கே வருகிறீர்கள்? என்று கேட்டவாறு இருந்தார். பயணத்தில், சில இடங்களில் தேநீர் அருந்துவதற்காக வாகனத்தை நிறுத்தும்போது, பெரும்பாலான கடைகளில் நம் தலைவரின் படப்பாடல்கள் ஒலிபரப்பாகிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. அதில் ஒரு நண்பரைக் கேட்டேன்..என்ன தலைவர் பாட்டா? அவர் சொன்னது..ஆமாம் சார். மொபைல் மெமரி கார்டில் தலைவரின் பாடல்களை ஏற்றி பாக்கெட்டில் போட்டுவிட்டு வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருந்தால் நேரம் போவதே தெரியாது. சந்தோஷமாக இருக்கும்' என்றார். தலைவரின் பாடல்கள் உழைப்பின் வலியைப் போக்கும் அருமருந்தாக இருப்பதைக் கண்டேன். பயணம் தொடர்ந்தது. தேனீ ராஜதாசன் அவர்களும் தொடர்பு கொண்டு திரு. ரவிச்சந்திரன் அவர்கள் சொன்னவாறு எங்களுக்கு தேனியில் வசந்தம் விடுதியில் ரூம் போட்டிருப்பதாகவும், காலையில் உங்களை சந்திக்கிறேன் என்றும் கூறினார். தேனீ வசந்தம் விடுதிக்கு சென்றோம். அழகான குளிரூட்டப்பட்ட அறை. ரிலாக்ஸ் செய்து தொலைக்காட்சியை ஆன் செய்தோம். அங்கே லோக்கல் சேனல் 'சிகரத்தில்' நம் சிகரத்தைத் தொட்டவரின் 'ஆயிரத்தில் ஒருவன்' திரைப்படம்.

தேனீ மார்க்கெட்டை சுற்றி வந்தோம். பெரும்பாலான கடைகளில் நம் தெய்வத்தின் படப்பாடல்களே. ஒரு கடையில், தற்போதைய முன்னணி நடிகர்களின் புத்தகங்கள்கூட இல்லாத நிலையில் நம் தலைவரின் ' இதயக்கனி' புத்தகம். எங்கேயும் எம்ஜிஆர் நிறைந்தார். எங்கள் மனமும் நிறைந்தது.

நாடோடி மன்னன்,
55 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னும் புதுப்படம் பார்க்கும் உணர்வை தோற்றுவித்தது. நான் அதிகம் பார்த்த படம் நாடோடி மன்னன் தான். மக்கள் திலகத்தின் தயாரிப்பில் நாடோடிமன்னன்,அடிமைப்பெண், உலகம் சுற்றும் வாலிபன் என்ற மூன்று படங்களும் மக்கள் திலகத்தின் திரைப்படங்கள் என்ற மகுடத்தில் பதிக்கப்பட்ட மூன்று முத்துக்கள் என்றால் நாடோடி மன்னன் அவற்றுள்ளும் மிகச் சிறந்தது என்பது எனது கருத்து. அதற்கு முன் எத்தனை முறை பார்த்தேன் என்பது நினைவில் இல்லாவிட்டாலும் மூன்றும் வகுப்பு முதல் ஐந்தாம் வகுப்பு வரை ஆண்டு தோறும் எனது முழுஆண்டு விடுமுறையில் தவறாமல் பார்த்தேன் என்றாலும் ஆறாம் வகுப்பு முழு ஆண்டு விடுமுறைக்கு வனவாசி என்ற சிற்றூருக்குச் சென்றிருந்தேன். (எனது சித்தப்பா அவர்களது இல்லத்தில்) அப்போது தியேட்டரில் ஆப்பரேட்டராக இருந்த எனது சித்தப்பாவுடன் நாள் தோறும் 3 காட்சிகளும் ஒரு நாள் கூட தவறாமல் பார்த்தது (படம் அந்தக் கிராமத்தில் 3 வாரங்கள் ஓடியது) இன்னமும் பசுமையாக நினைவில் உள்ளது. அதன் பின்னும் முழு ஆண்டு விடுமுறை கொண்டாட்டம் என்றால் அது நாடோடி மன்னன் படத்துடன் தான். (ஆண்டு தவறாமல் எங்கள் ஊரில் கோடை விடுமுறை காலத்தில் நம்நாடு, அடிமைப்பொண், நாடோடி மன்னன் படங்கள் கண்டிப்பாக ஒளிபரப்பப்படும்). அதன் பின்னரும் எனது கல்லூரிக் காலத்தில் கோவை கே.ஜி.ஆர்ட்ஸ் திரையரங்கில் மனித தெய்வம் அமெரிக்க மருத்துவமனையில் மரணத்துடன் போராடிக் கொண்டிருந்த நேரத்தில் ஒளிபரப்பப் பட்ட போது மிக மிக அருமையான பிரிண்டிலும் அற்புதமான ஒலியமைப்பிலும் பார்த்து மகிழ்ந்தேன். இன்னும் அடிக்கடி டிவிடி வடிவில் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன். எப்படிப் பார்த்தாலும் நாடோடி மன்னன் படத்தினை குறைந்தது ஆயிரம் முறை பார்த்திருப்பேன். ஆனாலும் இன்னமும் ஒவ்வொரு காட்சியும் புதிதாய் பார்க்கும் உணர்வையும் பரவசத்தையும் தோற்றுவிக்கிறது என்றால் அது மிகையல்ல. எல்லா அம்சங்களிலும் சிறந்து விளங்குவது நாடோடி மன்னன் தான். அதிலும் ரசிகர்களுடன் அமர்ந்து பார்க்கும் போது நமது ரசனையை ஆமோதிப்பது போல் அவர்கள் கரவொலியுடன் கேட்பது அலாதியான இன்பத்தை தருகிறது. ஒரு காட்சிகூட சலிப்பைத் தராத படம் (விதிவிலக்கு வண்ணத்தில் சந்திரபாபு வரும் நகைச்சுவை காட்சிகள்)

Hi Ravichandran, Thanks for evoking memories by bringing out the Bommai magazine covers. If I can recollect it correctly the first issue of Bommai in 1966 featured an exclusive MGR's bust portrait with make-up and he contributed a series of monthly articles. I am, however, not sure whether the series was published in the first edition itself. Those days, Bommai was a welcome respite from the otherwise mundane black & white monthly or weekly magazines as it published colour photographs.

MGR the star creator

MGR is also responsible for launching the careers of some of the legendary heroines in Tamil cinema namely Saroja Devi and Jayalalitha. Although he was not the one who discovered them, by approving them to be his heroines, they became big stars overnight. Saroja Devi has said in interviews that after MGR booked her as his heroine in Nadodi Mannan, overnight she had 30 offers from other Tamil producers. Other actresses whose careers are closely tied to MGR are Manjula and Lata.

MGR was also responsible for boosting the career of lyrists Vaali after he had a fall out with Kannadasan over political issues. MGR was not afraid to give chances to new comers. He was ably ‘voiced over’ in songs by TM Sounderarajan so much that TMS was the voice for MGR (and Sivaji). At a time when it was unthinkable to have another singer sing for MGR, MGR OKed the choice of an unknown Telugu singer to sing for him. The song Aayiram Nilave Vaa eventually won the singer a National Award. The singer is SP Balasubramaniam! When Yesudass, who was already a legendary singer in Malayalam films wanted to break into Tamil films, he asked MGR for a chance. The result was Thanga Thoniyile for Ulagam Suttrum Valiban (SPB also has a song in that movie – Aval Oru Navarasa Naadagam). When Yesudass was facing a slump in his career in Tamil movies, again it was an MGR movie, Urimai Kural and the song Vizhiye Kadhai Ezudhu that boosted his popularity again as a play back singer.


MGR – the Shankar of his day

Long before Shankar came to define Tamil films with his big budgeted, high tech and stylish Tamil movies; MGR could be considered a pioneer in this field. MGR’s first directorial venture, Nadodi Mannan, was a big budget bonanza in those days. Although a black and white film, there was one song sequence in that movie with Saroja Devi which was in color. The film was blockbuster.

His next venture, Adimai Penn was also one of the most expensive movies of its time and was shot in never before seen locations for a Tamil movie. Again, it was another blockbuster. But the biggest one of them all was Ulagam Suttrum Valiban (USV) shot in locations in Kashmir, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan – totally unheard of for a Tamil film back then and which predated Shankar’s Jeans (and its many locations) by 24 years. USV also has the distinction of being the first Tamil movie which was subtitled in English for the Malaysian and Singapore market so that non-Tamils could see it. It would be 40 years later before Tamil films with English subtitles would make their presence felt again in this part of the world.

MGR introduces non-Tamil speaking actresses

In USV, MGR introduced a Thai actress Medha to Tamil audiences. Then in 1975 he invited Hindi actress Radha Saluja to be his heroine for the movie Idhaya Kani. Both Medha and Radha Saluja did not speak Tamil and their voices were dubbed. At that time the Tamil audiences looked upon these two actresses especially Radha Saluja with curiosity as she was not able to speak Tamil and have to resort to someone else dub for her.

MGR seemed to have recognized the merits and attraction of north Indian beauties for the Tamil audience especially men: their fair skin, sexy body and lack of inhibitions compared to south Indian actresses. Radha Saluja eventually disappeared from Tamil films. mgr is also responsible for launching the careers of some of the legendary heroines in tamil cinema namely saroja devi and jayalalitha. Although he was not the one who discovered them, by approving them to be his heroines, they became big stars overnight. Saroja devi has said in interviews that after mgr booked her as his heroine in nadodi mannan, overnight she had 30 offers from other tamil producers. Other actresses whose careers are closely tied to mgr are manjula and lata.

Mgr was also responsible for boosting the career of lyrists vaali after he had a fall out with kannadasan over political issues. Mgr was not afraid to give chances to new comers. He was ably ‘voiced over’ in songs by tm sounderarajan so much that tms was the voice for mgr (and sivaji). At a time when it was unthinkable to have another singer sing for mgr, mgr oked the choice of an unknown telugu singer to sing for him. The song aayiram nilave vaa eventually won the singer a national award. The singer is sp balasubramaniam! When yesudass, who was already a legendary singer in malayalam films wanted to break into tamil films, he asked mgr for a chance. The result was thanga thoniyile for ulagam suttrum valiban (spb also has a song in that movie – aval oru navarasa naadagam). When yesudass was facing a slump in his career in tamil movies, again it was an mgr movie, urimai kural and the song vizhiye kadhai ezudhu that boosted his popularity again as a play back singer.


Mgr – the shankar of his day

long before shankar came to define tamil films with his big budgeted, high tech and stylish tamil movies; mgr could be considered a pioneer in this field. Mgr’s first directorial venture, nadodi mannan, was a big budget bonanza in those days. Although a black and white film, there was one song sequence in that movie with saroja devi which was in color. The film was blockbuster.

His next venture, adimai penn was also one of the most expensive movies of its time and was shot in never before seen locations for a tamil movie. Again, it was another blockbuster. But the biggest one of them all was ulagam suttrum valiban (usv) shot in locations in kashmir, singapore, malaysia, thailand, hong kong and japan – totally unheard of for a tamil film back then and which predated shankar’s jeans (and its many locations) by 24 years. Usv also has the distinction of being the first tamil movie which was subtitled in english for the malaysian and singapore market so that non-tamils could see it. It would be 40 years later before tamil films with english subtitles would make their presence felt again in this part of the world.

Mgr introduces non-tamil speaking actresses

in usv, mgr introduced a thai actress medha to tamil audiences. Then in 1975 he invited hindi actress radha saluja to be his heroine for the movie idhaya kani. Both medha and radha saluja did not speak tamil and their voices were dubbed. At that time the tamil audiences looked upon these two actresses especially radha saluja with curiosity as she was not able to speak tamil and have to resort to someone else dub for her.

Mgr seemed to have recognized the merits and attraction of north indian beauties for the tamil audience especially men: Their fair skin, sexy body and lack of inhibitions compared to south indian actresses. Radha saluja eventually disappeared from tamil films. பொங்கல் புதுநாள். உழைப்பாளிகள் மகிழ்ச்சியில் திளைக்க வேண்டிய நன்னாள். உழைப்பின் பலனைக் கண்டு ஆனந்தம் கொள்ளும் புனித நாள். உழைப்பை உரமாக்கி , குருதியை நீராகப் பாய்ச்சிப் பயிரிட்டதன் பலனாக சிரித்துக் கொண்டு நிற்கும் செந்நெல் கதிர்களைக் கண்டு களிக்கும் திராவிடர் திருநாள்.
இந்த வார்த்தைகள் ஏழைக் கந்தனின் இதயத்திலே சிறு சலசலப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியது. அவன் கேட்டறியாத சொற்றொடர். புதிதாகத் தெரிகிறது. புரட்சி யுகத்தின் முதல் அத்தியாயம் எழுதப்படுகிற இக்காலத்தில், கந்தனைப் போன்றவர்களின் சிந்தனைக்கும் வேலை தரப்படுவதால் கந்தனும் அதனின்றும் தப்ப முடியவில்லை. ...
அல்லி நகரத்திலே குறைந்தது ஐம்பது வீடுகளாவது இருக்கும். அவைகளிலே நான்கைந்து வீடுகள் தான் வீடுகள் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் இலக்கணத்திற்குரியதாக விளங்குபவை. மற்றவை அனைத்தும் வீடு என்ற பெயரிலே விளங்கும் வேதனைக் கூடுகள்.
நிலவு ஒளியையே விளக்கு வெளிச்சமாகக் கொள்ளும் ஓலையால் வேயப்பட்ட கூரைகள் ... நிமிர்ந்து வாழாதே என்று ஊழையைக் குனிய வைக்கும் வாயிற்படிகள். அப்படிப்பட்ட குடிசைகளில் வாழ்ந்து வருவதால் தான் கந்தன் பரம்பரை, தாழ்ந்து, தாழ்ந்து வளைந்த உள்ளத்தினராய் வாழுகிறார்கள். அப்படிப்பட்ட மாளிகைகளில் ஒன்று தான் கந்தனுடைய இருப்பிடம்.
வரப்போகும் பொங்கல் திருநாள் கந்தனுடைய மனதில் துன்பரேகைகளைப் படரவிட்டு , அவன் உள்ளத்தை அலைக்கழித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது.
பொங்கலுக்கு புது ஆடைகள் வேண்டும். அன்புக் குழந்தை. அருமை மனைவி ஆகியோர்களை மகிழ்ச்சி வெள்ளத்தில் மிதக்க வைக்க வேண்டும். வருடத்தில் ஒரு நாள் இன்பத்தை ருசிக்க வேண்டும் என்றெல்லாம் கந்தனின் உள்ளம் திட்டமிட்டது. ஆனால் எப்படி முடியும். கந்தன் என்ன மிட்டாவா, மிராசுவா. ஏழை உழவனாயிற்றே. உயிர் உடலில் ஒட்டிக் கொண்டிருப்பதற்கு மட்டும் தானே அவனுக்குக் கூலி கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. உழைப்பு ஒன்று தானே அவனிடமிருந்து யாரும் பறிக்க முடியாத சொத்து.
ஆனால், இன்றைய சமுதாயத்தில் உழைப்பை மட்டும் பெற்றிருப்பதனால் வாழ்க்கையில் உயர முடியவில்லையே. அதனின்றும் கந்தனின் நிலை எப்படி மாறுபட முடியும்?
பூர்வ ஜென்மத்தில் புண்ணியம் செய்திருந்தால் தானே, இந்த ஜென்மத்தில் பளபளப்பான வாழ்வைப் பெற முடியும். மற்றவர்களைப் பார்த்துப் பொறாமைப் படுவதில் என்ன பயன்? அவரவர்கள் விதிப்படி தான் நடக்கும் இவைகளையெல்லாம் தான் கந்தனின் வாழ்க்கையிலே அமைதியை ஏற்படுத்தி வந்தது.
ஆம். ஏழைகளைக் கட்டிப் போட்டு உழைக்கும் இயந்திரங்களாய் மாற்றுவதற்குத் தானே இந்த உபதேசங்கள் பரப்பப்பட்டு , இப்பொழுதும் பட்டுவிடாமல் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. இந்தச் சேற்றிலே சிக்கிய கந்தன் உள்ளத்திலே அறிவுத் தெளிவு பெற்ற எண்ணங்கள் எப்படி இடம்பெறும்?
அதனால்தான், தன்னுடைய கவலைக்கு மாற்று மருந்தாக நினையாதொன்று வந்தெய்தினும் எய்தும், எனையாளும் ஈசன் செயல் என்று ஒருநாள் அடிகள் ஒருவர் உபதேசித்த தாரக மந்திரத்தை கஷ்டம் வரும் சமயங்களில் கந்தன் முணுமுணுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தான்.
அப்பொழுதுதான், அவனுடைய இல்லத்தரசி எழிலரசியாய் வந்து நின்றாள். அவளுடைய ஆவலையெல்லாம் முகத்தில் தேக்கியவனாய்க் கந்தன் எதிரே வந்து நின்ற்ள். கணவனும் மனைவியும் அன்பைப் பரிமாறிக் கொள்ளும் நிகழ்ச்சிதான் ஏழைகள் வீட்டில் கிடைக்காத அருமருந்தாயிற்றே. கந்தன் குடும்பம் மட்டும் அதற்கு விதிவிலக்காகுமா? மனைவியின் சிரித்த முகம், கந்தனுக்கு கோபத்தையும், வேதனையையும் அதிகப்படுத்தத் தான் உதவியது. கந்தனின் நிலையை அறிந்தாலும் தன்னுடைய ஆசையை அடக்கி வைக்க முடியவில்லை சொர்ணத்தால்.
ஆமா, இப்படியே முகத்தைத் தொங்கப்போட்டுக் கொண்டே இருந்தால் காரியம் எப்படி நடக்கும்? நாளை விடிந்தால் பொங்கல் ...
ஆமா அதற்கு என்ன செய்யச் சொல்கிறாய்?
வேதனை வெறுப்பு உருவத்தில் வெளிப்பட்டது.
என்ன செய்வதா? கோடி வாங்க வேண்டாமா? பொங்கலுக்கு சாமான்கள் ... வார்த்தையை முடிக்கவில்லை. அதற்குள் கந்தன் இடைமறித்து விட்டான்.
ஆமாம். நீ கோடீஸ்வரன் வீட்டிலே பொறக்க வேண்டியவ தவறி ஏழையின் வீட்டிலே பிறந்து விட்டாய். அதனால் என் பிராணன் போகுது. இப்போ என்ன குடி முழுகிப் போயிடும்? நாளைக்கு புதுசு கட்டினாத்தான் சோறுபொங்குமா? புதுப்பானை பொங்கல் வைக்கவில்லையானால் அரிசி வேகாதா?
அவனவன் ஏதோ அரை வயித்து கஞ்சியாவது கிடைச்சா போதும், உடுத்திக் கொள்ள ஒரு பழைய துணி கிடைக்காதா? என்று ஏங்கித் திரிகிறான். அதை விட நாம் ஒன்றும் மோசமாயிடலே. சும்மா இரு. ஏதோ மானத்தைக் காப்பாத்த ஒரு துணியும், பசியோற ஒரு வேளை சாப்பாடும் ஒழுங்கா கிடைக்குதேன்னு திருப்திபடாம, ஒரேயடியா பேராசைப்படுற...
ஆத்திரத்துடன் சொர்ணத்தின் மனசை நோகவைக்கும் முறையில் போதுமென்ற மனமே பொன் செய்யும் மருந்து என்ற பொறுமை உபதேசம் செய்தானே தவிர, கந்தனுடைய உள்ளம் உலைக்கூடமாகத்ததான் இருந்தது. கந்தனுடைய கோபத்தை அவன் மனைவியிடம் காட்ட முடியுமே தவிர வேறு யாரிடம் காட்ட முடியும்?
ஆனால், மனைவி உள்ளே போனபிறகு, கந்தனுடைய சிந்தனை சுழல ஆரம்பித்தது. சுவையான நவாலைப் படிக்கும் போது, முன்னால் படித்துவிட்ட பகுதியில் ஒரு நிகழ்ச்சியைப் பார்ப்பதற்காக , படித்த பக்கங்களை வேகமாகப் புரட்டுவது போல் கடந்து போன வாழ்க்கை ஏடுகள் புரள ஆரம்பித்தன.
ஆம். கந்தன் சிறுவனாக இருந்த பொழுது நடந்து சம்பவம். கந்தன் சிறந்த புத்திசாலி என்பதற்கு அடையாளமாக, கந்தனின் தகப்பனார் அந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை, நாலு பேர் முன்னிலையில் கூறி பெருமைப்படுவார்.
முப்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு இதே பொங்கல் சமயம். கந்தனின் தந்தை சாத்தான் தன் மனைவியிடம் பணக்கஷ்டத்தைப் பற்றி பேசி, இருவரும் கவலையில் மூழ்கி இருந்தனர். சாத்தான் ஒரு மிராசுதாரரிடம் பண்ணையாளாக வேலை பார்த்து வந்தார்.
ஆம் கந்தனின் தநதை தானே. வேறு என்ன வேலை பார்க்க முடியும். பரம்பரைத் தொழிலை விட்டு எப்படி வேறு வேலைக்குப் போக முடியும்? வர்ணாசிரமப் பொறியில் சிக்கிய தமிழர் பரம்பரை, தகப்பன் வேலைக்கு மகன் என்ற வர்ணாசிரம முறையை எப்படி மாற்ற முடியும்?
அதன்படி, சாத்தான் உயிர் வாழ வேண்டுமானால் ஓடியாடி உழைக்க வேண்டும் என்ற நியதிப்படி உழைத்து வருபவர். அப்படிப்பட்ட சாத்தானுக்கு அருமை குமாரன் கந்தன். அவனுக்குப் புதிய ஆடைகள் வாங்க முடியவில்லையே என்று தாயும் தந்தையும் கவலைப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். அப்போது கந்தன் அப்பா அப்பா பண்ணையார் வீட்டு மாணிக்கம் புதுச்சட்டையெல்லாம் போட்டிருக்கிறானே., எனக்கு ஏம்பா இல்லை என்று கேட்டான்.
மாணிக்கம், பண்ணையார் மகன் போடலாம். நமக்கு ஏதப்பா புதுச்சட்டை சாத்தானின் சோகம் கலந்த பதில்.
அவன் கட்டலாம்னா நான் ஏம்பா கட்ட முடியாது?

ஏம்பா முடியாது?
சும்மா இருடா அவங்க பண்ணையார். அவங்க வீட்டு வேலைக்காரங்க நாம். தெரியுதா?அவங்களுக்கு நிலம் இருக்கு . வீடு இருக்கு. சொத்து இருக்கு
நமக்கு ஏம்பா அதெல்லாம் இல்லை.
அது வவுங்க அவுங்க செய்த புண்ணியம். தலையெழுத்து அப்படி
தலையெபத்தா ? யார் எழுதினா ... -?
கடவுள்
ஏன் எழுதினார்?
புண்ணியம் செய்தால் நெறைய சொத்து கிடைக்கும்னு எழுதுவார். பாவம் செய்தா நம்ம மாதிரி ஏழையாய் பொறக்கணும்னு எழுதுவார். நாம் தான் புண்ணியம் செய்யலையே அதனால் தான் இப்படிப் பொறந்தோம்.
ஏன் செய்யலே. அவங்க மாத்திரம் எப்படி செய்தாங்க
அவ்வளவு தான். சாத்தானுக்குக் கோபம் பொங்கிவிட்டது. ஓங்கி அறைந்து விட்டான்.
அதனாலே கீழே விழுந்த கந்தனுக்குக் காயம்பட்டு, அது இன்னும் மாறாமல் இருக்கிறது ...
அந்தப் பழைய நினைவு வந்தவுடனே கண்ணீர் சிந்த ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டான். கண்கள் சொர்ணத்தை கடினமாகப் பேசிவிட்டது பற்றி வருந்தினான். அதற்காக கண்ணீர் துளியைக் காணிக்கையாக்கிவிட்டு நின்ற இடத்திலேயே உட்கார்ந்துவிட்டான். கண்களும் ஓய்வு பெற ஆரம்பித்தன.
உள்ளே இருந்து ஓடிவந்தான் 19வயது வாலிபன் ... கந்தனின் மகன் ... கையில் புதுத் துணிகள் முகத்திலே மகிழ்ச்சி. உடலிலே முறுக்கு. உள்ளத்திலே தெளிவு. இவ்வளவும் அவனிடம் காணப்பட்டன.
அதைக் கண்டவுடன் அடிமைக்குப் பொருள் கூறும் அகராதி போலக் கூனிக் கிடந்து அவன் முதுகு நிமிர்ந்தது. மகிழ்ச்சி பொங்க மகனே பார்த்தாயே நினையாதொன்று வந்தெய்தினும் எய்தும் எனையாளும் ஈசன் செயல் என்பது எவ்வளவு உண்மை பார்த்தாயா? இப்போது தான் கவலைப்பட்டுக் கொண்டு இருந்தேன். கவலை போக்கும் மருந்தாக நீ வந்து விட்டாய். என்றான்
உடனே அந்த வாலிபன் அப்பா தாங்கள் சொன்ன பாட்டு தப்பு நினையாதொன்று வந்தெய்தினும் எய்தும் வினை முடிக்கும் செயல் வீரர்களால் என்று பாடுங்களப்பா இதுதான் புது மொழி. என்னையும், பண்ணையார் வாழ்க்கையை வளப்படுத்தப் பலியிட்டிருந்தால், இதையெல்லாம் நானும் நினைத்த நேரத்தில் சம்பாதிக்க முடியாது போயிருக்கும்.
எப்படியோ படித்து, அறிவையும் ஆற்றலையும் பயன்படுத்துவதால் வளமான வாழ்க்கையைப் பெற்றிருக்கிறேன். இனிமேல் நமக்கு கஷ்டமில்லையப்பா. இனி உழைப்பாளிகள் தான் உலகை ஆளப் போகிறார்கள். இதோ பாருங்களப்பா , புது யுகத்தின் புதுமொழிகளை. ... என்று ஒரு இதழைக் கொடுத்தான்.
உடனே தகப்பனாருக்கு படிக்கத் தெரியாது என்பதை உணர்ந்து தானே படித்தான். உழைப்புத்தான் உலகை ஆள வேண்டும். உழைப்பவன் தான் இந்த உலகத்தின் சொந்தக்காரன். உழைப்பாளிக்கே உலகம் என்று அறிவிப்பது தான் பொங்கல் விழா. இந்த இலட்சியம் ஈடேறினால் தான் உலகில் அமைதி நிலவும். சமத்துவம் தழைக்கும். ஒற்றுமை ஓங்கும். அது ஏற்படாத வரையில் இயேசுவை சிலுவையில் அறைந்து சித்ரவதை செய்தபிறகு அவரை வழிகாட்டியாகக் கொள்வது போலவும், சாக்ரடீசை நஞ்சுக்கு இரையாக்கிவிட்டு அவரைப் போற்றுவது போலவும் உத்தமர் காந்தியாரின் உயிரைக் குடித்துவிட்டு சிலை எடுத்துப் பாராட்டுவது போலவும் தான் இருக்க முடியும்.
ஆனால், பகுத்தறிவு பெற்ற இளைஞர் பட்டாளம் எழுச்சி பெற்று புதுயுகத்தை ஆக்கியே தீரும் ... ... அந்த உலகத்தில் ஆண்டான் அடிமை, ஏழை - பணக்காரன், உயர்ந்தவன்- தாழ்ந்தவன், முதலாளி-தொழிலாளி என்ற மனித சமுதாயத் தொத்து நோய்கள் இருக்காது.
யாதும் ஊரே யாவரும் கேளீர். எல்லோரும் ஓர் குலம், எல்லோரும் ஓர் இனம் அன்பே கடவுள், சக்திக்கேற்ற உழைப்பு - தேவைக்கேற்ற வசதி என்ற இலட்சியங்கள் நிறைந்த பொற்காலம் தோன்றப் போகிறது. பழமை, ஆதிக்க வெறி, வர்ணாசிரமக் கொடுமை அழியப் போகிறது. என்று இலட்சிய முழக்கத்தைப் படித்துக் காண்பித்தான்.
ஆமப்பா ஆமா என்று அன்போடு மகனைக் கட்டித் தழுவினான்.
கண் திறந்து பார்த்த சமயம் அருகில் தன் அருமைச் செல்வன் பத்து வயது சிறுவன் அப்பா அப்பா என்று எழுப்பிக் கொண்டிருந்தான். எதிரில் ஏங்கிய முகத்துடன் சொர்ணம் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தாள்.
பண்ணையார் வீட்டிலிருந்து அழைப்பு வந்தது கந்தனுக்கு பொங்கல் வேலை செய்வதற்கு. கலங்கிய கண்களுடன் கந்தனும் வீட்டை விட்டு வெளியேறினான். பண்ணையார் வீடு போய்ச் சேரும் வரை தான் கண்ட கனவையே நினைத்துக் கொண்டு சென்றான். எதிரே கனவில் கண்ட இன்பத் தாயகம் -சுதந்திர தமிழகம் காட்சியளித்தது.
அவன் வாய் அவனையறியாமலே, நினையா தொன்று வந்தெய்தினுட்ம எய்தும் வினை முடிக்கும் வீரர்களால் என்று முணுமுணுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது.

Once when MGR was on his foreign tours, he noticed that there were many Indian students in the Universities there and 40% of the students were from Bangalore. When the reason for this was analysed, it was found that Bangalore had many self-financing colleges. Based on this knowledge, MGR instructed the then Education Minister Mr.Aranganayakam to permit self-financing colleges in Tamilnadu. It was also decided to permit one such college for Vellore and Viswanathan was the person chosen for this task as MGR thought that he was the apt person. Thus the seeds for the world renowned VIT University were sown.

நான் ஏன் பிறந்தேன் - நான் ரசித்த MGR படங்களுள் ஒன்று.

நல்ல கதையம்சம் கொண்ட இனிய குடும்ப சித்திரம்.

MGR -KRVijaya நல்ல ஒரு குடும்ப ஜோடி பொருத்தமாக காணலாம்.

பிராட்டுக்கு தெருவு என்ற 1953இல் திரு.நாகேஸ்வர ராவ் அவர்கள் நடிப்பில் வெளிவந்த தெலுங்கு படம், ஹிந்தியில் ஜீனே கி ராஹ் என்று 1969இல் Jeetendra , தனுஜா நடிப்பில் வெளியாகி, 1972, நான் ஏன் பிறந்தேன் என்ற தலைப்பில் சிறிது மாற்றங்களுடன் வெளிவந்த இனிய பாடல்களை கொண்ட அருமையான குடும்ப சித்திரம்.

MGR அவர்களை நல்ல ஒரு உடையலங்காரத்துடன் இந்த படத்தில் பார்க்கலாம். காஞ்சனா, திருமதி KRVijaya இருவரும் பாத்திரம் உணர்ந்து அருமையாக நடித்திருப்பார்கள்.

வழக்கமான மசாலாத்தனம் , காட்சிக்கு காட்சி MGR அவர்கள் இருந்தாலும் இல்லாவிட்டாலும் மற்ற கதாபாத்திரங்களின் துதிபாடல், "LARGER THAN LIFE "என்று எதுவும் இல்லாத நல்ல ஒரு திரைப்படம் பாசம், பெற்றால் தான் பிள்ளையா திரைப்படத்தை போல.

" நான் பாடும் பாடல் நலமாகவேண்டும் " உனது விழியில் எனது பார்வை " மற்றும் " நான் ஏன் பிறந்தேன் " பாடல்கள் தேனோடு சேர்ந்த தெள்ளமுது !

The title of this film also impressed MGR so much so that he used it to write his weekly biography series in Ananda Vikatan around the same time when it was released in 1972.

This was also the film where Kamalhassan, who was an assistant to Dance Master Thangappan, choreographed the 'Ennama Chinna Ponnu' song. Many years later when MGR was the CM he said in a film felicitatory function (where Kamalhassan was amongst those present to be felicitated) that 'Kamalhassan ennai eppidi ellam aati padaithaar theriymua?. Avarin thiramaiyai andrey nan oondru kavinitheyn. Avarukku oru nalla ethir kaalam kaathukitturigutathu endru appothey enakku thondrittathu'. He was obviously referring to this song where Kamalhassan infused some difficult fast-paced novel movements which were shot on retakes. The end result was that the song became popular for its unique folklore style dance movements. The whole crowd frenzied with applause on MGR's wit and humour.

Between 1952, when Sivaji debuted in the runaway hit ‘Parasakthi’, and the early 1980s, when MGR acted in his last film, they were competitors and rivals, two powerful figures who dominated the Tamil film industry. They maintained a healthy respect for each other.

MGR had a successful political career, having broken away from the DMK to start his own party and riding to power in the Assembly elections in 1977. Till his death in 1987, MGR saw through many upheavals in his political career, never once losing power. He had carefully cultivated his image wooing womenfolk and the rural population, through roles that often portrayed him as the saviour of women and the downtrodden. Sivaji Ganesan, on the other hand, had a disastrous political career, his attempts at starting his own party having come a cropper. But as an actor, he was nonpareil.

Both had a huge fan following and both continue to have a fan following even now. There would be endless debates and arguments as to who was the better actor of the two. But what most of the reporters fail to understand and write is - The circumstance and year at which MT started the party and the situation and year in which NT started his party. There was no revolution with respect to starting a party for NT unlike MT.

Many youngsters always get to read a biased, mis-represented information on NT's political stint. Most of them think both MT & NT started at the same time their parties, both were rivals and NT failed in politics while MT succeeded. This is the assumptions many younger generation have. While reading the news like this as a common man who do not knew history, this is what they would conclude. THAT's WRONG !!!

Amateur writers just broadly write generic sentences. Yes, nothing to hide that NT's own party start was disaster BUT not his political Stint. NT's political stint inspite of his 20 hours per day busy schedule of his profession was a huge success which made the DMK to fear and cunningly they planned for his exit & Karmaveerar's invite to NT to join hands itself speaks volume about his political Stint.

Sivaji Ganesan was first of all NOT A POLITICIAN even from his hay days. He never held any position with either the earlier DMK (or) the Later CONGRESS unlike MGR who held prominent position immediately after he joined DMK from being a Congress Sympathizer in the earlier period which everyone knows.

Had Sivaji Ganesan been selfish and opportunistic post MGR's demise by joining hands with MK rather than joining Mrs.Janaki Ramachandran, things would have been entirely different today. It is the unfaithful devotees of both the sides failed to give the needed support to the legal heir and successor of MGR ie, Mrs. Janaki instead they preferred to be a life long slaves and were ready to go behind Glamour....! It is not a loss to NT ...may be he would have lost his quite a bit of money...It is a loss to the State of Tamilnadu.

Sivaji's Political Stint never failed, his political party was the one that failed. At the same time, in his film career, he was second to None !
His standard of performance was too...too...too...high for the Indian Cinema which only the International Film Community could identify due to which they recognized, Awarded and Rewarded ONLY NT till date.

Nice to hear that. When speaking about the film AsaiMugam, I would like to tell you that, AsaiMugam was also apparently one of the MGR movies that I like. Especially, Ramadoss wearing mask of MGR and the duo having the fight at the climax and like how a jamesbond overcomes the villain, an acid is thrown on villain face and for a second, every first time viewer would be in a suspense as to which MGR gets affected...!

The same Knot was used partially in Aduththa Vaarisu where C.L.Anandan would wear the mask of Rajinikanth..and the duo will have a fight..!

Aasai Mugam is a good entertainer..No doubt about that !

Thanks for your explanation. You should also understand the true spirit in which am writing in this thread. My intention will never ever be to defame anyone especially a god like personality for millions of people - Thiru.MGR.

At the same time, you should also understand others feelings. When someone says anything with reference to Thiru.MGR (or) Mr.Sivaji, it is assumed by default that the opposite of any comment belong to the other person. That is the norms everybody follows right from 1952 ever since Mr.Sivaji started his film career.

It is a universal truth that MGR was OMNIPOTENT (unbeatable & undefeatable) in the Political Arena and Mr.Sivaji Ganesan's political innings as a party leader was futile attempt (even though there are so many reasons) This being the case, when you mention any negative statement with reference to any activity,( for example: your mention about drinking and smoking and also, you mentioned to the extent of what if such people exists or doesn't exist) automatically, it gives room for unwanted arguments, which i do not like to get into it unless and until am provoked too much.

That is why whenever, i get provoked by your statement and when i reply to your provoked statement, i will think for sometime and I have always removed it because i understand these things are happening just in emotions for both of us. But, till date, you have not even removed one of your statement.

As a matter of fact, I had even put up a combination shot of MT & NT from film Goondukili to stress on how friendly they are siting indirectly for want of friendship between both the groups. But, there is some block in you which is not allowing to be friendly with us.

Even after that, if you are mentioning provoked statements, you please tell me, what you will do if you are in my position.

Once again, I promise that am not an Anti-MGR person and as a matter of fact, am in the process of launching a portal named www.eyesofcinema.com which will showcase both the legends, MT & NT. This portal is aimed in providing A-Z information on both of them ...their first venture into arts, how they came to the field, what difficulties they faced, how they succeeded, how both of them helped many to survive in the industry, their achievements in cinema etc., This portal will not include anything on the politics. Nice to see your immediate response. People are similar yet they are different in skills, knowledge, perception etc.

இனி வரும் காலத்தில் பழைய தமிழ் படங்கள் வர இயலாத சூழ் நிலை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது . ரசிகர்களுக்கு மிகவும் ஏமாற்றம்தான் .கடந்த கால நினைவுகளை பகிர்ந்து கொள்வது ஒன்றே தவிர வேறு வழி இல்லை .

But what most of the reporters fail to understand and write is - The circumstance and year at which MT started the party and the situation and year in which NT started his party. There was no revolution with respect to starting a party for NT unlike MT.

Many youngsters always get to read a biased, mis-represented information on NT's political stint. Most of them think both MT & NT started at the same time their parties, both were rivals and NT failed in politics while MT succeeded. This is the assumptions many younger generation have. While reading the news like this as a common man who do not knew history, this is what they would conclude. THAT's WRONG !!!

Amateur writers just broadly write generic sentences. Yes, nothing to hide that NT's own party start was disaster BUT not his political Stint. NT's political stint inspite of his 20 hours per day busy schedule of his profession was a huge success which made the DMK to fear and cunningly they planned for his exit & Karmaveerar's invite to NT to join hands itself speaks volume about his political Stint.

Sivaji Ganesan was first of all NOT A POLITICIAN even from his hay days. He never held any position with either the earlier DMK (or) the Later CONGRESS unlike MGR who held prominent position immediately after he joined DMK from being a Congress Sympathizer in the earlier period which everyone knows.

Had Sivaji Ganesan been selfish and opportunistic post MGR's demise by joining hands with MK rather than joining Mrs.Janaki Ramachandran, things would have been entirely different today. It is the unfaithful devotees of both the sides failed to give the needed support to the legal heir and successor of MGR ie, Mrs. Janaki instead they preferred to be a life long slaves and were ready to go behind Glamour....! It is not a loss to NT ...may be he would have lost his quite a bit of money...It is a loss to the State of Tamilnadu.

Sivaji's Political Stint never failed, his political party was the one that failed. At the same time, in his film career, he was second to None !
His standard of performance was too...too...too...high for the Indian Cinema which only the International Film Community could identify due to which they recognized, Awarded and Rewarded ONLY NT till date.

It is quite true that the situation and circumstances did not favour Respectable Late Sivaji Ganesan at the time of his starting a new party TAMIZHAR MUNNETRA MUNNANI. But in my opinion, he could have continued his party with the support of his Fans and like-minded persons. It was regret to say that after his defeat, he dissolved the Party.

Moreover, he believed very much the Actors Major Sundararajan, V.K. Ramaswamy and Ms. Sowcar Janaki. Instead, he could have made the reliable persons, choosinhg from amongst his fans, to support him and the party and kept them in higher positions in the party.

As a voter of Tiruvottiyur Constituency, I had the opportunity of extending my fullest co-operation and support to Mr. K.V.P. Boominathan, when he contested on behalf of TMM Party, since my sincerity attahced to Ramapuram Garden and also being Ms. Janaki supporter. It is most unforunate to say that both Ms. Janaki Ammal and Sivaji Ganesan, the familiar personalities, have been defeated.

But, I do not agree with your statement of Respectable late Sivaji Ganesan, being Second to None in the Tamil Cine Field. Even now, our beloved God MGR starred Movies alone set records, on its re-release, without any interval, in every nook and corner of Tamil Nadu State, set Records in collection. The same situation happens in Karnataka State too.

As already pointed out by me in the Thread, M.G.R. is an unbeaten Ever Green Hero of Tamil Cine Field and he is the one beyond comparison.

Nice to hear that. When speaking about the film AsaiMugam, I would like to tell you that, AsaiMugam was also apparently one of the MGR movies that I like. Especially, Ramadoss wearing mask of MGR and the duo having the fight at the climax and like how a jamesbond overcomes the villain, an acid is thrown on villain face and for a second, every first time viewer would be in a suspense as to which MGR gets affected...!

The same Knot was used partially in Aduththa Vaarisu where C.L.Anandan would wear the mask of Rajinikanth..and the duo will have a fight..!

Aasai Mugam is a good entertainer..No doubt about that !

'Kalangarai Vilakkam' and 'Nadodi' were also released within this time frame and we were confused as all had Saroja Devi in the lead. By the way, in all of MGR movies it will be rare if a lady artiste refers to him in less respectful prefix or suffix like 'avan', 'dey' 'poda' etc. Rarer still if a lady slaps him. Of course, female artistes who act as his mother are an exception to this rule. MGR was very careful with such demeaning dialogues as he socially felt responsible for promoting a respectful culture amongst his fans. But in 'Aasai Mugam' Saroja Devi confronts the villain MGR (supposed to he Ramadoss) and uses such a word. I remember a section of the spectators swearing at Saroja Devi in the theatre.

While on this subject, in Thaaiku Thalaimagan' MGR uses a deragatory word against Rajhshri in a fit of anger. It was unthinkable then that such a word was indeed used by MGR although Rajhshri appearing as vamp rightly deserved it. Still wondering as to how these sensitive words in the screen dialogues escaped MGR's attention in both Aasai Mugam and Thaaiku Thalaimagan.

Dear Professor,

Am not concerned (or) bothered about the success or failure of Mr.Sivaji Ganesan's political career but I was more concerned on the way in which it is projected till date by any media and therefore I mentioned in my reply because those new generation who read mayyam should not get misled by generic statements.

In terms of films, I wish to tell you that every person has his / her own belief. So, like your kindself, I too strongly believe based on the facts, figures and records that Mr.Sivaji Ganesan was second to none when it comes to his career in films despite few ups and downs which are common for any actor.

I am not bothered or concerned about the re-releases of his films till date. I am purely talking about the first time release of his films.
Am not in for a debate on this as it is needless since both the legends are not in this world but does exist in every fan's heart.

it is quite true that the situation and circumstances did not favour respectable late sivaji ganesan at the time of his starting a new party tamizhar munnetra munnani. But in my opinion, he could have continued his party with the support of his fans and like-minded persons. It was regret to say that after his defeat, he dissolved the party.

Moreover, he believed very much the actors major sundararajan, v.k. Ramaswamy and ms. Sowcar janaki. Instead, he could have made the reliable persons, choosinhg from amongst his fans, to support him and the party and kept them in higher positions in the party.

Even now, our beloved god mgr starred movies alone set records, on its re-release, without any interval, in every nook and corner of tamil nadu state, set records in collection. The same situation happens in karnataka state too.

As already pointed out by me in the thread, m.g.r. Is an unbeaten ever green hero of tamil cine field and he is the one beyond comparison.

"மூன்றெழுத்தில் என் மூச்சிருக்கும்...' என்ற பாடலில் நடித்து, இன்று பல கோடி ரசிகர்களின் மூச்சில் கலந்திருக்கும் அந்த மூன்றெழுத்து தான் எம்.ஜி.ஆர்., தமிழ் சினிமாவிலும், அரசியலிலும் , "புரட்சித் தலைவராய், மக்கள் திலகமாய், மன்னாதி மன்னனாய்,' வலம் வந்த எம்.ஜி.ஆர்.,ன் பிறந்த நாள் இன்று. "மறைந்தாலும், இவர் யார் என்று ஊர் சொல்ல வேண்டும்' என்ற பாடல் வரிகள், எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு மட்டுமே பொருந்தும்.

ஜெனரேட்டர் வாங்கி படத்தை திரையிட்டோம். எங்கள் தியேட்டரில், 217 நாட்கள் ஓடியது. வேறெங்கும் வெளியிடாததால், வெளியூரிலிருந்து உணவு பொட்டலங்களுடன் வந்து, பல நாட்கள் தங்கி படம் பார்த்து சென்றனர். இன்றும் மாதத்திற்கு மூன்று எம்.ஜி.ஆர்., படம் திரையிடுகிறோம். புதிய படங்களுக்கான அதே "கலெக்ஷன்' கிடைக்கிறது.

விஜயகுமார்(கலைமதி கம்பைன்ஸ் ஆப்பரேட்டர்): கடந்த இரண்டு ஆண்டில் மதுரையில் மட்டும் 40 தியேட்டர்களில் "நாடோடி மன்னன்' படம் வெளியானது. நவீன தியேட்டர்களில் டி.டி.எஸ்., ஒலியுடன், கியூப் மற்றும் யூ.எப்.ஓ., தொழில்நுட்பத்திலும் வெளியிட்டோம். புதிய படங்களுக்கு குறைவில்லாத வரவேற்பு, இன்றும் எம்.ஜி.ஆர்., படத்திற்கு உள்ளது.

ஞானசேகரன் (ரிக்ஷா தொழிலாளி): எம்.ஜி.ஆர்., படம் பார்த்தால் உணவே தேவையில்லை. ஒரு நாளில் நான்கு "÷ஷா' பார்த்த படங்கள் நிறைய உள்ளன. அவரை நேரில் பார்க்க சென்னை கிளம்பினேன். அவர் வீட்டில் இல்லை. இரண்டு நாட்கள் ரோட்டில் தங்கி, மூன்றாவது நாளாக பார்த்தேன். திரையில் வருவதை விட அழகாக இருந்தார். "வாத்தியாரே...' என, கத்திய போது, நிமிர்ந்து பார்த்தவர், சிரித்த படி என்னை நோக்கி கையசைத்து சென்றார்.
ரிக்ஷாக்காரன் படத்தில் அவர் அணிந்த உடைகளை தான், இன்றும் அணிகிறேன்.

மாணிக்கம் (ரிக்ஷா தொழிலாளி): விபரம் தெரிந்த நாளில் இருந்து ரிக்ஷா ஓட்டுகிறேன். கடுமையாக கால் வலிக்கும் போது, ரிக்ஷாவில் ஒட்டியுள்ள எம்.ஜி.ஆர்., போட்டோக்களை பார்த்தால், தானாக தெம்பு வரும். இன்று, பண்டிகையில் தான் படங்கள் வெளியாகின்றன. அன்று, எம்.ஜி.ஆர்., படம் வெளியானாலே பண்டிகை தான். அரசியலுக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டு அவரை ரசித்தவர்கள் ஏராளம். இப்படி மனம் விட்டு பேசினர். இவர்களை போல இன்னும் எத்தனையோ ரசிகர்களிடம் எம்.ஜி.ஆர்., வாழ்கிறார். மக்கள் திலகம் திரி மிகவும் சிறப்பான முறையில் சென்று கொண்டிருக்கும் வேளையில் ஒரு சிலரின் விரும்ப தகாத பதிவுகள் மூலம் தடைபட்டு , தேவை இல்லாத பதிவுகள் மூலம் பார்வையாளர்களின் மத்தியில் அதிருப்தி உண்டாகி இருப்பது வருத்தமான செய்தியாகும் .
