Queen Abbakka was a brave queen of 16th century, who ruled from Ullal in Tulunadu. She belonged to Chautha Dynasty.
Abbakka defeated the mighty forces of Portuguese invaders for several times. She had her own small naval force. Her soldiers were mostly fishers and Muslims of coastal Karnataka and Northern Kerala. Her bravery was discussed in Europe and Gulf. Unfortunately, most of the Indian historians are silent about her.
