Magizh Thirumeni excels at incorporating amazing stunts in his films, and Arya kind of looks tough. I liked the "sliding under the table" shot, excellently captured. Looking forward for the film.

Amazingly done clip. The key-words here are "time-lapse" and "bullet-time" in slow motion technic in film-making, including still photography. Its bassically playing with the frame rates after capturing the events under a high speed camera.

Many prominent film makers were absorbed with 2 aspects that they wish to exploit in their own films, giving the picture a fresh and new style, at the same time stamping their creativity thru the particular stunt sequence :

1/ In Gun-Slinger Cow-boy films, the raw events happen fast or under real-time, while, when the bullet hits a person, it goes into slow-mo breifly, creating an impact with the viewers.

2/ The cult scene from Untouchables, in the metro station, where the sliding push-chair counts the passing second while hitting each step, at the same moment there are several things parallely happening. The beauty of this scene is how convincingly it was made making it a sequence understandable and enjoyed with an immense thrill.

Coupling these 2, film makers like Zack Snyder, John Woo, Sam Raimi, Chistopher Nolan, Guy Ritchie, QT, and few others exploited the slow-mo technic in detailing the events making the whole stunt sequence interesting. Some went to a level of not only making it interesting, but intelligent too. Nolan used extreme slow-mo for dream sequences happening parallely to real-time action. John Woo gave the minute itinerary of a bullet from the time it exitis the barrel. Zack captured all the gore where Guy Ritchie detailed what really happens during the hit-time and its aftermaths. Sam Raimi extended the Super-hero genre by adding such slow-mos detailing the actions and visions of the Super-hero which made the whole setup beleivable. The best so far is the title card from the film Watchmen, where the visuals are not only interesting, but narrates the post-story of Watchmen clearly coupling it with Bob Dylan's awesome song.

The new entry is X-Men: Days of Future Past, which takes the slow-mo technics into much complex visual naration. Bryan Singer who gave us some amazing nouvelties in film making, strikes again with an escape sequence which not only makes our jaw drop, but wonder how they pulled it off.

Coming to the clip from 'Nee Yellam Nalla Varuva Da', the whole shoot out sequence gets immense detailing where you not only see thing flying around at a given point of time, but also a matching visuals and sounds in accordence with the respective POV focus. Brilliant.

Last week thaan Kadhal Padam release aana mari oru feeling, athukulla B25. Plus Dhanpani appears in this film. Nalla artist, who is no more. Replacements are always there, but ivar range-ku vara mudiyuma-nu therila (Voice + thoranai). In VVS, when they beat up Soori, he gives the identification of the thief matching exactly Dhandapani's looks. Dhandapani quite innocently orders his men to capture the man who resembles the description given by Soori.

it was only given the censor certificate yesterday!

'Vanavarayan Vallavarayan' starring Kreshna Kulasekaran, Monal Gajjar, Makapa Anand and Niharika Kareer has been given a 'U' certificate by the Censor Board. The film directed by Rajmohan, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is touted to be a hilarious family entertainer, is about the emotional triangle between two brothers and the love interest of one of the brothers.

While Sowcar Janaki will be seen playing an important role in the film, Santhanam has also been roped in for a guest appearance. Vanavarayan Vallavarayan is expected to hit theatres soon.

GVP should have raised more the bass and its sub frequencies, it could have made the speakers in the cinema hall tremble and fall. Hope people accept this kind of noisy "machinery" sounds. I just love them, & GVP seems to be using them regularly.

Atharva, well educated by Bala, could be seen uttering some simple lines in wave like fashion (@23s). It increases the needed humour. The bike and the plot surrounding it - got to see how convincingly they are going to present it.

I watched movie "megha" yesterday..... very nice and subtle love and thriller...... it's very refreshing to listen the song "Putham puthu kalai" in digital version...i'm completely enthralled by the song... it's running in loop since yesterday.....I felt the movie is highly under rated.... when started to watch, i did not know it was ilayaraja's music.... but i started to observe quality of music.....I miss mottai very much nowadays....

I do have same confusion and but did not give much important to climax.....In overall, the movie is subtle, non-linear narration and good try from new comers.... I felt all the songs are good and aptly fit in to screen play. Rerecording is fantastic. if i get time/chance, i would definitely watch it one more time particularly romantic scenes.

Where Sudheer Babu starts to shine is <spoilers start> during the pre-interval, where he gets locked inside the room <spoilers end> and now he has to face "it" with fear & courage. The 'it' here is very important, who 'it' is and how he approaches 'it' and then how he handles 'it' . All along the 2nd half, its his fear mixed with style, courage & humour, that forks the movie - Horror & Comedy.

The other characters are important too, esp., his friends who plot to go against the ghost. Karunas is a good choice. Just have to see how its been flavoured for us.

Finally a horror film with an interesting promo soundtrack, which is quite creepy. Created by debudants - direction Srinath Ramalingam & music by Siva Saravanan - the duo have come out with this interesting piece for the film's promotion. The amazing aspect is the humming of the kid 'au milieu de' electric flickering and broken lift door noises, followed by a gothic version. Simply superb, got to grab the full version.

A note about other Creepy/Eerie Music :

Dead Space 2 (game) Version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xum-FsX-abc) is a creepiest one. It comes at a right moment when Issac, a lost space marine in an alien infected space world, has to find his way back to his escape ship while surving all the open horror of the enviornment. He investigates a deserted lounge and goes thru a dark tunnel only with his torch light, and this song plays in the back ground with just a low or hairline thin volume. What an experience if you have played it in the dark, truely amazing one this is. Moreover it is sung by one of the developers, which is awesome. The lyrics go like this, matching the ambience and the story :

When the blazing sun is gone,
When the nothing shines upon,
Then you show your little light,
Twinkle, twinkle, all the night.

Then the traveler in the dark,
Thanks you for your little spark,
He could not see which way to go,
If you did not twinkle so.

There is also an eerie version of another "nursery" rhyme 'Ring around the Roses' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16MdwEb_EGs) in the game's OST, which goes like this :

Thirdly, my favorite, which is not a "nursery", but an Irish boat man song, with some terror lyrics, named "Drunken Whaler" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urV8MIcLDFk) from the game Dishonored (Lyrics Rated R for its violent nature).

If you decide to hear to these songs, care to note all the creepy sounds and the voice texture brought out, which brings in the needed eerie ambience, and with visuals, its sure to make spiders run around your stomach.

I have talked about them several months back, but saying it again to apperiate the efforts of Daisy film team. There are several such musical pieces, the ones including Pizza and Villa, and also Hard Rock versions (strictly for such music genre lovers.)

Awesome post Mappi. Loved those soundtracks from those games. The Daisy soundtrack is amazing too. They didn't just stick with the little girl singing to an eerie sounds to give you a cheep creepy feel. It genuinely has a creepy feel to it when it switches to the gothic style.

Rarely do we see a Tamil movie with a lot of experiments as commercial movies are the order of the day, but debutant director Prabhu Yuvraj has touched a never attempted fantasy-horror genre with enough scientific explanation in ‘Ra’. The kind of research put in by the team is evident with the title itself; Ra means expropriation (Abagarithal) and they took the reference from ancient Tamil literature, Tholkaapiyam.

As the director deals with winsome ‘fourth dimension’ communication like Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar...... :grin:
