Thought VS would have played Simha's part in the movie - it was actually rumoured and as adding fuel to it, there was an untitled still of VS with a similar getup (hairstyle & facial hair). @1m35s VS would have ignited the screen.

The casting looks promising, except for the lead pair - Got to wait & watch. Simha is menancing, "Pey babu" (Naan Mahan Alla) is terror, Karunakaran is "eye-poping" but Arul Doss is missing. As usual Santosh Narayanan's acoustic music is mesmerising.

Wish it gets a throne beside Aranya Kandam. All the best to the entire team.

Yes, Nov, the trailer seems so, I am with you, but ...

Trailers (teasers - eventhough I don't support them, I am left with no choice), trailers allow you to predict the future, the film. Just like a film, trailers have categories which projects the genre of the film. Jigarthanda puts forward a different way of representing it. It avoids clichés and other common themes of mainstream film trailers. Its aim is not to provoke, but be different and uses a patern that slowly generates the spark while unfolding itself. For instance, the guy getting hit by a car-spare-part, edited to show the heroine smiling and then the slaps accompanied by the variation in music scenically conveys the romance angle and its intervention with violence. KS touches, yet another time, with his homour before throwing in the end credits.

Altogether Jigarthanda trailer seems to be a synonym of what we are going to watch. How its going to unfold as a feature film is the mystery where I place all my bets on KS, Santosh and Simha. By the looks of it, it will not be appealing to many, mainly those who are not exposed or allergic to such genres. I will not conclude by saying those "experimental" blablas, but "Got to wait & watch" !

Well, its easy to make out the way the poster has been formed. But the question is who are the guys with the musical instruments ? I would like to think that they are the band of the album as I can makeout Santosh & Anthony Dassan. The rest of the members I don't know.

Reminds me of the pranks and gimmicks William Castle pulled for his independent movies like House on Haunted Hill, The Tingler and many other where he makes the audience interact with his movies.. He is a very unique director.

'நிமிர்ந்து நில்' படத்தினைத் தொடர்ந்து சமுத்திரகனியின் அடுத்த படம் குறித்து பல்வேறு செய்திகள் வெளியாகி வந்தன.

இந்நிலையில், சமுத்திரகனி இயக்கும் அடுத்த படத்தினை அவரே நடித்து, தயாரிக்க இருக்கிறார். இப்படத்தில் சமுத்திரக்கனி ஜோடியாக அமலா பால் நடிக்க ஒப்பந்தமாகி இருக்கிறார்.

முதன் முறையாக இரட்டை வேடத்தில் நடிக்க இருக்கிறார் அமலா பால். முழுக்க அவரை மையப்படுத்தியே இப்படத்தின் கதை நகர்கிறதாம். காட்டுக்குள் படப்பிடிப்பு நடைபெற இருக்கிறது. படத்திற்கு 'கிட்ணா' என்று தலைப்பிட்டு இருக்கிறார்கள். கிருஷ்ணா என்பதின் சுருக்கமாம் இது.

பாலா - சசிகுமார் இணையும் படத்திற்கு 'தாரை தப்பட்டை' என்று தலைப்பிட்டு இருக்கிறார்கள். விரைவில் இப்படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு துவங்க இருக்கிறது.

இப்படத்தில் சசிகுமார் நாதஸ்வர வித்வானாகவும், வரலெட்சுமி கரகாட்ட கலைஞராகவும் நடிக்க இருக்கிறார்கள்.

இப்படத்திற்கான பாடல்களை இளையராஜா முடித்து கொடுத்து விட்டார். இளையராஜா இசையமைப்பில் வெளிவரும் 1000வது படம் என்று செய்திகள் வெளிவந்த வண்ணம் உள்ளன. ஆனால், இளையராஜா தரப்பில் இருந்து இதுகுறித்து அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக எதுவும் தெரிவிக்கவில்லை.

I think "Illa Aanalum Iruku" went thru a title change and is called Yaamirukka Bayamey now. The title itself is quite tricky. Karuna Karan's character "Suluku Edukum Soodu Kai Suntharam" is some kind of a seer or with psychic abilities or does his character has more to it ? Should be a fun watch.

And Mr. GreyShirt, just curious to know why would you say something like that. "Haunted House" movie categories may be verymuch used ones, but in TFI there are only less than 3 (or none) Horror movies every year. More horror and thriller genres should surface in TFI and we have to slowly move on from our regular offerings. I thought the easiest Horror flick would be in a Haunted Manson (13am number Veedu is still my favorite movie). And going by the trailer, I feel that Yaamirukka Bayamey has more than just an "Haunted House White Saree Ghost" story.

This year I saw 2 TFI thrillers (based on Horror) with much expectations. Was very disappointed with Marumugam, whereas was a bit satisfied with Adhiyum Andhamum (AA). Eventhough AA was not quite original, atleast someone has tried out different genres in TFI. If they had fine tuned the suspense, the film would have been great. Thought they gave away, a way too much during the first half itself, that did not garnish any interest to know what really happened.

Anyway, I like Horror genre movies (be it chessy or well made), and I wish the entire "Yaamirukka Bayamey" team sucess.

Vadacurry Trailer
The trailer looks more like a mobile phone ad and the Subway Surfers/Temple Run games are just to indicate there will be quite a lot of running around in the movie. With an awesome star cast, a catchy title (much better than Biriyani) and fast cut random scenes playing in an interesting way without giving away too much, I think that this movie should be an intelligent entertainer or would fall flat just like the "massive" thriller Vamanan. Anyway, Jai always gets a second chance from me keeping his previous movie as the start indicator.

Got the CD while driving back home today. Not yet heard all the songs, but there is this song "Ullankayil Ennaivaithu" which got my attention. Thought the MD had done an awesome job in mixing dubstep to a sombre melody. Plus the inclusion of the Dj record scratch with a normal ringtone sound was quite catchy. On my 5.1 Sony System, the sound was just roaming and it was absolutely fabulous. Got to listen to it several more times to see whether it will stick to my "weird songs" playlist.

Looks half baked IMHO...Mildly intriguing but I am sure the core idea would have been diluted with the necessary ingredients required to make today's entertainers. Will anywways have a look at it, but going all the way to watch it in theatres is a big doubt. Vamanan- Blatant copy of two very popular movies ultimately resulting in a mess- wonder how the guy got away with that and made Endredum Punnagai.....

Hillarious title aptly presented in a police jeep backdrop. The latest poster is funny too, but the guns part was mercilessly lifted from Expandables (koncham alter panni irrukalam) and the butterfly wing art is not new either. 1980's Super Star to act with Suriya

As we all know versatile actor Suriya will be moving on to a film directed by Venkat Prabhu after completing director Lingusamy's 'Anjaan'. The film tentatively titled as 'Poochandi' will be produced by Suriya's production banner.

It is worth remembering that Suriya had reinvented actor Ramki the famous hero of the 1990's to play a character role in his latest film 'Biriyani' that had Suriya's brother Karthi in the lead role. Now sources claim that Venkat Prabhu will do a same kind of thing in 'Poochandi' as well. It is said that Venkat Prabhu has decided to rope in actor Mohan, fondly addressed as Mike Mohan, for an important role in the film.

Mohan remained a super star of 1980's and he has acted in many blockbuster films. We will have to wait for an official confirmation before deciding anything. However, if this idea pans out, it will be highly exciting to watch Suriya, one of the super stars of current generation share screen space with a former super star.

Meanwhile 'Poochandi' is expected to go on floors in July. The film will have musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja and R.D.Rajasekhar will crank the camera. Lyricist Madhan Karky will be penning the dialogues.

Shiva always does an extended cameo in most of Vishnu's avatars. We know several stories about various forms Vishnu takes. Sarabesan appears during the post climax of Narsimha avatar. When the Avatar's motive was accomplished, the form became more aggressive and started destroying the world. Shiva took the form of Yali (or Vyala or Sarabham or Vidala in Sanskrit) to subdue the super power. Sarabham form is Eagle + Lion + Man clawed equally and fierce as Narasimha.
