Hindhi version looks like Ayutha ezhuthu Part 2 :
Madhavan-Abishek / Vikram => Rustic don / Rustic drunkard
Surya-Ajay Devgan / Ninthin Mukesh => College Leader / Gangleader
Siddarth-Vivek Obroi / Vinay Virmani => Go to USA / Go to Dubai
Ayutha ezhuthu-Yuva / David => 3 ppl, 3 different life.
But will they meet or get confused whether to meet or not just like in Ayutha Ezhuthu.

Bejoy Nambiar picks unconventional options. In SHAITAN, his directorial debut, he chose relative newcomers [with the sole exception of Rajeev Khandelwal] to relate the story of well-heeled kids, belonging to the upper crust, who get implicated in a botched crime and how it pushes them to commit several lawbreaking acts.
In DAVID, Bejoy's second outing, he introduces us to three Davids. Dwelling in three different places. In three different eras. But the characters aren't linked to each other, though these characters do connect towards the film's resolution. Given the genre of the film, one would expect DAVID to hurl a lot of shockers at you. Sadly, it doesn't. Sure, the tone of the sequences alters constantly, from passion to angst to apprehension to conflict to retribution to vindication, but the film fails to involve you completely. What comes across on screen is inconsistent.
What you eventually carry home is the technique Bejoy adopts to narrate the three stories. But the gorgeous visuals and a couple of enthralling moments aren't enough. A film ought to score as a complete package. That's where DAVID falters!
The story revolves around the lives of three Davids in three different parts of the world in three different eras…
* 1975 London: David [Neil Nitin Mukesh] works for Iqbal Ghani, a dreaded Mafia don. He is a protégé who is poised to take over the empire until a revelation changes the course of his future.
* 1999 Mumbai: David [Vinay Virmani] is a musician born into a family of devout Christians. He is a happy-go-lucky teenager who loses all semblance of his peaceful existence when his family gets dragged into a political issue.
* 2010 Goa: David [Vikram] is a fisherman who falls in love with Roma [Isha Sharwani]. The only hitch is that she is engaged to be married to his best friend Peter.
All three Davids are about to take a step which is going to change their lives forever.
I am certain, DAVID would've come across as a remarkable script on paper. But, like most films, it doesn't transcend from an entrancing script into a dazzling motion picture. Bejoy has great vision, no doubt, but the concept loses sheen because there's no connect between the stories. The three tracks go back and forth all through the narrative, which cuts short the drama at several junctures. Besides, the lethargic pacing mars the impact too.
DAVID appeals in bits and spurts, although the film begins on a promising note. The track involving Neil Nitin Mukesh is the best of the lot, followed by the one featuring Vinay Virmani. Again, not all episodes in these two stories are attention grabbing. The third one, featuring Vikram, just doesn't work. It has the potential, but the writer/s don't tap the potential to the optimum. As a matter of fact, boredom and dullness seep into the movie at regular junctures, which is not a positive sign when you're watching a thriller. Even the finale is not as compelling.
DAVID scores high in its technical department. Be it the luminous cinematography or exhilarating sound design or refreshingly different background score, the outcome is top-quality. The DoP comes up with spectacular frames and also captures the intensity that the characters radiate with dexterity. As for the soundtrack, barring 'Damadam Mast Kalander', there's not much to marvel in this enterprise.
The cast is incredibly proficient, with most actors submitting himself/herself to Bejoy's vision. Neil Nitin Mukesh is going to stun a lot of people in this film. He is top notch here, essaying his part with flawlessness. His body language is super. Vikram is a great talent and though his story isn't captivating, his performance is. Vinay is natural to the core and takes rapid strides with this film.
Tabu is admirable, as always. Monica Dogra is striking and the rebellion in her character stays with you. Isha Sharvani is photogenic, but doesn't get much scope to act. Lara Dutta appears in an insignificant cameo. Akarsh Khurana is first-rate. Rohini Hattangadi, Nasser, Milind Soman, Neil Bhoopalam, Nishan Nanaiah, Ajinkya Deo, Satish Kaushik, Prahlad Kakkar and Sheetal Menon -- each of them are skilful in their respective roles.
On the whole, DAVID is more style, less substance. A few moments do stand out, but they are few and far between. Coming from the director of SHAITAN, this one's a mega disappointment!

David (Hindi Version)
Released date : 01/02/2013
Runtime : env 2h 40m
Written & Directed by : Bejoy Nambiar
Produced by : Bejoy Nambiar, Sharada Trilok, Chiyan Vikram (Saw it in the title cards)
Studio : Getaway Films & Reliance Entertainment
Co-Writter : Natasha Sahgal
Music : few musicians
Starring : Vikram, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vinay Virmani = 3 Davids. In some scenes - Tabu, Lara Dutta, Isha Sharvani
David tells the tale of 3 people who not only have the same name, but indeed play a role in each ones life at a crucial point of time. But its not "Ayutha Ezhuthu" and in no way their lives are related or their paths cross. But still, like a chaos theory, what one David sows is reaped by the other - no matter how futher they are in time.
Story
1975 [London] - David => Loyalty
Neil Nitin Mukesh is a sidekick to a gangster. What if his loyalty is shaken ?
Spl mention : Costumes, decors, Gani gangster character
1999 [Mumbai] - David => Duty
Vinay Virmani is a ambitious youngster who wants to become big as a guitar artist. He has dreams to get his family to a good position and wants to get his sisters married to well-to-do family. What if things happen in a such a way that his duty is shaken ?
Spl mention : sets
2010 [Goa] - David => Passion
Chiyan Vikarm is a failure turned alcoholic looking only for a girl who could love him such a way he loves her. Will his passion give him the courage to make that decesion that he should not take ?
Spl mention : Goa as beautiful as it is always for me [Love this place and people]. Isha, Tabu & Vikarm, humour (not stomach paining ones, but liked it when all (man or woman or kid) speak the same way to Vikram).
So you got 3 climax according to each David's suituation. And the 3rd Climax explains you why its David. Because he is David, he cannot be Peter. Also we do not know whether Peter would do what David did.
The climaxes happen on 3rd March. I was toiling to know why this date and went long to search for historical events or details. But came to the conclusion for the simplest reason => 3 David / 3 / 03 => maybe ! [Have not watched Tamil version - maybe it happend on 02/02 ... ?
Film Making
The stories are quite simple, nothing out of the box. But its the packaging that is intruding. The maker has knitted the 3 seperate story [presented in 3 different tone] into one with right moments and breaks. Initially the scenes with each david is long, but as it moves forward, the scenes are short and the last moment of David 1 becomes the present moment of David 2. At a point of time it looks like the 3 Davids characters are part of the same story. They have brought it out sucessfully and without the master editor it would not been possible.
Slow or Boring Factor
This movie is not a master piece, but a work worth noting. Ofcoarse its style seems to be slow, but the point is in establishing the characters and the maker takes his own sweet time. If you are passionate towards cinema, you will adore it. If you are a Fan of cinema you will certainly feel a bit let down. But at the end of the day its entertainement that counts, and David surely is a good entertainer as eventhough there are several breaks, the climax would satisfy your time spent.
Performance
Neil Nitin Mukesh & Vinay Virmani performed good. Vikam who got to be on the brighter side is just out of place. As a alcoholic he is better, but his accent is what that concerns me. But towards the end he does give a heart warming expressions (and thanks to the bgm too). He is cool in the (Samy type) intro and it was a joy to see Remo Fernandes performing a song. The Dream Duet between Vikram and Isha is romantic - thanks to the pretty Isha and passionate Vikram (Reminded me of Oh Butterfly song). The other songs are good, if you like to see peotry on screen. The 3 ladies, the prettier being Vikram's pair, dont give an impressive performance, but they pass.
David - Its not Dabaang as its David.

Southern superstar Vikram, who was recently seen in Bejoy Nambiar's "David", feels Bollywood audiences have the knack to appreciate both masala as well as serious cinema.
"The audience here is more evolved, they watch a masala film, enjoy it. At the same time they can enjoy a serious film. They are able to appreciate (everything), you can make a biopic and still have audience liking it. For actors like me that is fantastic," the 46-year-old said here Tuesday in an interview.
Earlier seen in Mani Ratnam's "Raavan", Vikram is all praise for the way Hindi films are being made and is especially happy with the presence of a large number of script-writers and the variety of stories.
"What is most enchanting about Bollywood is that all of you have so many script writers and so many variety of cinema which is not there in the south," he said and specified that there are two types of cinema.
"There is very good cinema and there is cinema that runs. The very good cinema is not the one that runs always.
"The audience here is like we had a tough day at work and we just want to relax and laugh. Now the trend is comedy, they don't want to think.
"We don't have scriptwriters, we only have directors. Here you have so many scripts to talk about," he added.

The issue surrounding Vikram's statement on Telugu star Rana Daggubati's Bollywood career in a recent interview has been settled between the two actors. Vikram's statement did not well with the Rana and so took twitter to give back a befitting reply, but later also stated that the issue has been settled and that there had been a misquote in the interview.
Rana Daggubati tweeted today "Spoke to actor Vikram finally, says its a misquote from what he actually said. Glad the air is cleared apologies to him and his fans for my harsh reaction."
"Look at Rana. He started in the Telugu industry and came to Bollywood but he hadn't made any headway in the south. Now he's not bothered about the Telugu industry," this statement from Vikram kickstarted the entire issue
To this, Rana had hit back yesterday on twitter by saying, "Dear Mr.Vikram I see you quote me and my directions in quite a few media interactions of yours recently. It is best if you focus on your...Career that isn't headed in the right direction with close to 10 odd disasters in your kitty I'm barely 2 1/2yrs old as an actor and.....You are almost close to 25yrs. Stay put on urs as I am on mine not take anything away still a huge fan of few of your films".
