The photoshoot of Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s new film with director Vijay took place at AVM Studios in Chennai. Cameraman Nirav Shah and a still cameraman took a test shoot of Vijay with Amala Paul who are being paired for the first time. The shooting of this film produced by Chandraprakash Jain which is untitled, will start in Mumbai from November 25. Mumbai seems to be the favourite location ofIlayathalapathy after the stupendous success of Thuppakki.

GV Prakash has already composed two songs for the film which is said to be an action comedy entertainer. Santhanam is doing an important role in this film and a large portion of the film will be shot in Australia.

The photo shoot for the first look poster with Amalapaul and Vijay happened recently and the first look came out very well says the sources. Vijay broke his 7 year singing sabbatical with the Google Google song in Thuppakki. The song, sung by Vijay and Andreah, became an instant blockbuster and is one of the highlights of Thuppakki. Now, as it turns out, Vijay has agreed to sing another song for his next film, by director AL Vijay.

Vijay and AL Vijay are presently in Mumbai in shooting for their upcoming project. The team fixed Mumbai as shooting spot because handling crowd for a Vijay film in Tamilnadu is a tedious process. But on the contrary AL Vijay witnessed a huge crowd in the shooting spot and he is finding it very difficult to control the crowd. It is said that Vijay's recent release Thuppakki was a big hit in Mumbai and Mumbai was easily recognizing the Thuppakki actor. Being a fast worker AL Vijay is finding it difficult to shoot at his usual pace.

We had reported earlier that the second schedule of Vijay’s untitled film with director Vijay is set to begin this month. Art director Nagaraj is currently painstakingly recreating the Mahim area in Mumbai along with 500 carpenters, day and night.

Vijay, Amala Paul, Sathyaraj, Ponvannan and more than 1000 junior artistes are set to participate in this schedule which would happen at the Mahim set.

All signs point to a mega budget commercial entertainer. The stakes are high for Vijay after the back to back successes of Kaavalan, Velayudham, Nanban and Thuppakki. Vijay would be looking to extend his success run with director Vijay as well.

We at cinemalead already said you that the title for Vijay-AL Vijay film is "Thalaivaa". Now the press release says that the film will have Vijay,Amala Paul,Sathyaraj,Pon vannan, Suresh and Abhimanyu in the lead. The film will also have a popular Mumbai actress in a prominent role. Both RK Naguraj and Mumbai based art director Sunil jaswal has erected a huge set where the song shooting which starts with the lyrics "Thalaivaa Thalivaa " was shot with 250 dancers which was choreographerd by Chinni Prakash for the particular song the art directors made 50 boats.

After the two song shoot and three fight sequence in the upcoming schedule the entire team will move to spain in March and the film is scheduled for a May month release. stay tuned for more updates.

After many speculations regarding its title, the new Vijay film with director Vijay has finally been officially titled as Thalaivaa. The movie comes with a tagline “Time to Lead”.

One must say, the title has tremendous mass recall value and it is sure to please Vijay fans. Is this title also an indicator of the star’s future political ambitions? One must see the film to find out.

On Pongal day, this title and the highly innovative logo design have come as a timely festival gift for Vijay fans. The movie is being planned for a May release and the shoots are currently going on in Mumbai. The unit will visit Spain in March for another schedule.

…says Ilayathalapathy Vijay about his role in his upcoming flick Thalaivaa with director Vijay

The poster of the Vijay-Vijay film came out and everyone has been buzzing about how the movie looks like a film involving politics and Vijay donning the role of a politician. When CT asked him whether he played a politician in Thalaivaa, Vijay said, “No, the movie has nothing to do with politics.” He preferred not to reveal more about the flick. The producer of the film, Sunil Chandraprakash Jain, also denied the film has any political undertone. He said about the title, “We zeroed in on Thalaiva because it suits Vijay’s image and the film’s story. Even the poster is designed keeping it in mind. The film has nothing to do with politics.” The Ilayathalapathy’s political ambitions have always been much debated about and any movie relating him to politics gets the audience talking. Last year, he had stated that he would enter politics at the right time. Thus, he’s constantly asked when he will officially enter the political race. When Vijay and AL Vijay film's title was announced as Thalaivaa there were reports floating around in net that the film is scripted with political backdrop but sources confirms us that the film doesn't have any political background and they also denied the reports that it is a remake of Shekar Kammula's Leader and to its contrast the film will be simultaneously released in Telugu. Sources said that the film will have lot of grandeur and gives a fresh image to Vijay, the portions which are to be shot in Spain will be something new and it is a major portion in the first half of the film.

Behindwoods earlier reported that Santhanam is all set to join Vijay in the recording studio to lend his voice for a song that will feature Vijay as the singer. Santhanam now has revealed that he will not exactly be singing per se but he will rather be talking to Vijay in the song. He says that singing is something that does not come easily to him and he struggles to get the rhythm and timing correctly.

It’s interesting to note that a similar style was attempted recently in Alex Pandian where Santhanam’s spoken word segments were interspersed along with the melodic portions of the song. Sources within G.V. Prakash’s camp though have revealed that Santhanam will indeed be singing, along the lines of what Rajini did in Mannan with ‘Adikidhu Kuliru’, and that the star comedian is just downplaying his vocal abilities.

We at cinemalead reported you earlier that a bollywood actress has been roped in for Al Vijay's Thalaivaa starring Illayathalapathy Vijay . Now the sources confirm that the director finalized Ragini Nandwani who appeared in Dehradun Diary and popular Hindi TV serial "Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein", we also heard that the actress joined the team for the shoot which is currently happening in Mumbai. Thalaivaa has Abhimnayu Singh,Rajeev Pillai,Ponvannan ,Santhanam to its star cast ,GV Prakash takes care of music while Nirav Shah is cranking the camera.

HOLLYWOOD CONNECTION IN VIJAY'S THALAIVAA

Vijay and the entire crew of Thalaivaa are currently in Mumbai for finishing the marathon schedule. After completing this schedule the team will move to Spain and sources say that the story demands a lady Hollywood singer to do a cameo role in the film. The team is currently looking for the call sheet of a top rock star say the sources. Stay tuned for more updates.

Vijay trashes Hollywood star act rumour

Director Vijay, who is busy shooting in Mumbai for Thalaivaa with Vijay and Amala Paul, is surprised at the stories floating around about the film.

When TOI asked him if the news reports that a Hollywood star would be part of his film were true, he rubbished it saying, "There is no international singer featuring in the film. We are not looking at any Hollywood star for any such role. This is a figment of some people's imagination."

On the progress of the film, he says that they are shooting at a brisk pace in Mumbai and their next schedule, as reported earlier, would be in Spain.
