Prepare batter for idli(6cup lg grain rice,2cup uncle ben's rice,11/4cup ulundu,or as per your usual method).Use the fermented firm batter the first day for idli, the next day when it's a bit sour add some warm water and make the batter loose and prepare dosai, the 3rd day the batter is sour(if not add bit curd to make it sour)add to the batter confectioners sugar or brown sugar and 1 mashed banana and mix well add very little water or milk as the batter must be thicker than the dosai consistency.smear oil in tawa spread it well and pour the paniam batter in when cooked one side turn to the other side (the first batter poured might stick to the tawa, but as the tawa absorbs oil,i guarantee the next will turn out well)Eat plain ,or as you like it.Enjoy and let me know.3 days of breakfast worry is over.

Jackie, sounds like an excellent idea, but i have only 2 days rest,on my working days it's either bread sandwich or cereal. My tongue loses the taste bud by the end of the week so I try to visit my married friends to bring back taste.I wished you lived nearby I would be a loyal friend atleast for the good breakfasts.

sanja too bad you have no time but make it a habit to prepare breakfast,it might be hard the first few days but then you'd get used to it.Skipping breakfast is not good for you.Thats why i told you the easiest 3 day breakfast menu.

Hi,
I prepared a single batter for idli and dosa so that I can make idlis on the first day and dosas on the second day. Idlis came out okay, but the dosas didnt. The batter was not too watery, the consistency was normal. I was not able to flip the dosas, they were getting torn. What could be the problem?
thanks,
Anu.
