Hi!
I'm planning to invest in a chapathi press. I've always rolled out chapathis and puris the conventional way...so I'm wondering whether it's a wise decison to get a press instead. Could I use it for making Boli?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks!
Shoba

Thedal,
How do you make fluffy chapathi using a press.
The chapathis I make on press are not as soft as the ones made on the tava. Thanks.

R,
The brand name is "POOJA", size 6, it's manufactured in India, and imported here in Singapore by Mohd. Mustafa & Sons.
P,
Sorry to butt in, but the chapathi press I was referring to does the job of the conventional board & rolling pin. One still has to use the tava to cook the 'pressed out' chapathi...
Best Regards,
Shoba

I think the tortila and chapaththi press are the same. Now to make fluffy chapathis: wheat flour should be kneaded very well so as to soft as well as firm consistency. A few drops of oil or ghee may be used to prevent from sticking to the fingers. Before pressing powder your palm with flour and make small golis. Keep the goli off the centre and press. Press gently so that the goli does not break. When small bubbles appear in the bottom side, turn it out and allow to heat. When again bubbles appear on the bottom ,turn it out and press. The fluffy chappathi will slide out!It is softer than manual made!

For making excellent chapathis, you should try Chefmaster Electric Instant Chapathi Maker. It is so easy to make chapathis with this chapathi maker. Just place the dough on the lower non-stick plate and press and presto! there is your chapathi ready to eat! No need for tawas anymore. Made in the land of chapathis by people who know how to make chapathis, it is available for a very reasonable price at www.chennaiimports.com.

Hi,
I have taken a new chapati maker and tried to prepare chapati and could not make chapati. The details are
When i keep the dough(round shaped wet flour) in between the two plats and press it chapati shape is comming but after few munits it is becomming hard, some thing like bisket. I want to make a soft chapathi. When i enquired about this with my freinds, they say that all these chapati makers are waste, they dont work.
If any one has some time to explain me in yahoo messenger chat (kristamsetty@yahoo.com) how to use the chapathhi maker, i would be thanfull to you.
