Hello,
You can make home made ghee with unsalted butter that you get in us grocery store. You have to melt the butter on medium tem. After some time foam will start appearing. keep stiring otherwise it can rise and can get out of the pot. It will start boiling. Now you can stop stiring. When you get ghee smell, and see clear liquid, it means ghee is done. One more test is if you sprinkle little cold water, it splitters. If you like granuals you can add little curd or butter milk in the ghee at the beggining. Or for 4 sticks of unsalted butter add 1 stick of salted butter. You can also add little fenugreek seeds or cloves while making ghee which improves smell/ life of the ghee. Hope this helps..enjoy..
