Last week I used my Sumeet mixie to grind ulundu to make vadais. But in the half way,it suddenly stopped functioning. Now Iam planning to get one food processor. I want to know if it can be used to grind rice and ulundu to make idli and dosas.
Can anyone please suggest me on this?

  hi mrs. shah...i make them this way...i buy the ready made puris (if you want i can give u the recipe for this but im too lazy to make them myself) from the supermarket. the previous night i soak channa and then pressure cook it. i mix it will boiled & mashed potato with some chili powder, salt and lemon. then i prepare the sweet and sour chutney with jaggery (about 100 gms) and some tamarind juice, with salt and chilli powder. I buy everest pani puri masala (ready made powder) and prepare according to instructions. then i just scoop up some potato-channa mixture, sweet & sour chutney and the paani and enjoy !! our whole family sits around the table and we make a meal of it...
  try it out..it tastes as good as the roadside paanipuri !!! its even more hygenic !!
