CHINESE SWEET & SOUR SAUCE
1/2 c. pineapple juice
3 tbsp. oil
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 c. white vinegar
Cornstarch
Heat first five ingredients just to boiling. Thicken with a little cornstarch dissolved in cold water. Add vinegar. Stir and serve with steamed vegetables, tofu or meat.

just tried it..except..
instead of 2 tbsp. brown sugar, i used 2 tbsp. confectioners sugar (we had no brown sugar at the moment) and instead of pineapple juice, used pear juice (again, no pineapple juice at the moment), and Red Wine Vinegar, instead of white vinegar, and cut it down to 1/2 tbsp, misreading this page, being in a hurry, and not being a fan of vinegar at all. I'll tell you how it came out once I get the stomach to eat some of the lo mein i made. lol.
