when rice is steamed before its hulled and dried , its par-boiled rice. This I consider to be a proof that ancient people knew well about nutritonal factor of foods. It is found that parboiling and then hulling prevents loss of some B complex vitamins and other nutrients, because they leach in the starchy core of the rice. It also helps the fiber to get pasted with the starch granules of the rice. hence its most healthy to eat parboiled rice than white polished rice which is just starch. Eating starch without fiber and nutrtients is not good for health.
brown rice is the best, next comes parboiled and then the lowest in rank is the white polished rice.

Hello,
I have been searching all over the US for a supplier with brown parboiled rice. The only thing I have found so far is Success boil in bag brown Rice which contains precooked brown parboiled rice. However, I don't care much for precooked rice because of it's softness & texture. Does anyone know where I can get regular parboiled Brown rice?? rickrock2@aol.com
