pootareku is made from rice. But it is lengthy process to prepare that if u can get ready made poothareku u can prepare it by adding sugar and gee.
If u r really intrsted to know the method even it is lengthy here it is.....
soke rice in water for 4 to 5 hour they grind it to smooth paste ( make sure paste should be in form of liquid just like dosa mixture).take a pot turn upside down keep fire below the pot and now take a cotton cloth and immerese that in rice paste which u have prepared then spraed that cloth on pot that is upside down with fire at its bottom then remove the cloth.then u can obsern some flour paste attached to pot after some time that flour paste will get heated up due to fire and will come out just like paper. Repeat the process until u get enough number of putharekus then wet the reku with wet cloth and spread gee over it sprinkle suger powder on that and fold it.hope u got ur Puthareku.
In India we can get ready made reku and we can directly prepare puthareku by adding sugar and gee but i dont know wheather u can get ready made r not.
