Hi everyone! I got a packet of avarai dal recently. I know what it is but don't know what to do with it. I am looking for recipes, preferably without coconut. I believe this dal is also used in Gujarati cooking. Can anyone help?

  Hello Santhi,
  You can make AVAREKKAI SAMBAR with the dhall. Gujaratis make Val-Ni-Dal. But it has no coconut in it,so best bet is prepare sambar with Karnataka style. It is there in my website.
