I just came back from Goa where I was (twice!) served this dish: A vegetable soup or stew served with coconut chutney and little steamed buns. It was delicious, and I would like to make it, but I don't know what it is called.

  the veg soup ur talking about mostly is sambar.Were the steamed buns white in colour or brown?If it was white in colour and steamed they are idli's(made from fermented batter and steamed).If they are brown colour and deep fried they are called vadas(bondas).Idli,coconut chutney,vada and sambar is a typical south indian breakfast menu.
