recipe for andhra dhall with spinach

toor dhall with palak that is served at andhra restaurants.

herez the recipe that is similar to what ur sayin
toor dal 1cup
palak 1 bunch
garlic crushed 2tsp
ginger crushed 1tsp
jeera powder 1/2tsp
daniya powder 1/2 tsp
sambhar masala 1/2 tsp
tumeric 1tsp
salt for taste
tomatoes finely chopped1
onions finely chopped 1
green chillies finely chopped 3-4
oil for cooking
for tempering:
mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
jeera seeeds 1/2 tsp
whole red chillies 1-2
curry leaves.
corriander leaves.
method.
1) wash & cut the palak .
2) along with the toovar dal steam, the palak with 1/2 the quantity of tomatoes mentioned above & 1/2 tsp tumeric ,in the pressure cooker.for abt 4-5 whistles till the dal & palak r finely mashed.
3) in a kadhai heat oil,add 1/2 garlic & rest of the ginger along with onions & green chillies 7 saute them.
4) now add the palak dal mixture.if the gravy is too thick add water to it.
5) now add salt,tumeric,jeera & corrinader powder.
6) bring to a boil & simmer.also add the sambhar powder.
once the dal reaches the required consistency remove from flame.
7) for tempering heat ghee & add the above mentioned ingredients for tempering along with the remaing garlic.pour the tempering in the dal.garnish with corriander leaves.
serve hot with rice .
ps:u can also squeeze some lemon if u wish.
