Hello Lathakrishnan!
Panha for sure is a Marathi word and is very popular in Maharashtra.
Panha traditionally is made with jaggery
I do agree it is a great drink in humid summers

Hello Lathakrishnan,
My wife makes Panha with almost the same recipe as you have mentioned but instead of Kesari powder, a little Saffaron adds a fantastic flavour.
We Gujaratis too have a name for the same.We call this drink, "Keri No Pano" or simply Pano
Try that out.
Its Great !!

For the 'aam ka panna'(mango panna)you take steamed mango(3 without skin),1ts roasted jeera,1/2ts salt,a bunch of chopped mint leaves, some ice cubes,3 ts jam(any red),1 cup water and some cherries.
CHOP THE MANGOES & PUT IN TO THE BLENDER.ADD THE OTHER INGREDIENTS EXCEPT JAM AND CHERRIES.BLEND IT.SPREAD THE JAM INTERIOR OF A GLASS,POUR THIS JUICE AND DECORATE WITH CHERRIES ON TOP.

In N. America since we don't get raw mangoes, somebody had made panha from green apples which tasted exactly like the real panha. Does anybody have a recipe for this?
