Does anybody know the the the values of 'paruththi paal? I heard that it is good for diabetes. This is made by grinding the soaked paruththi kottai and then boiled with panam kalkandu.

Ya. Me too. Saw this on sun T V. Shakthi masala star samayal.
Soak paruthi kottai over night. Grind it with water and take the milk from it. Boil Karuppatti with little water and filter it to remove the manal(sand). Powder sukku, elam. Take a handfull of rice and dry grind it to fine rava consistency. Boil the Paruthi pall with rice rava and karupatti waterfor 20 mins. keep stiring it. atlast add the sukku elam and serve.
Hope I did not left any ingredients. I haven't tried this. Because i do not get paruthi kotti here.

Hello kala Chandra!
I have also seen this star samayal's episode of Paruthipaal. But I want to know in what ways it is useful for our health.

Hello Mr.Idiyaappam!
Mannar Saraboji had written so many olaichuvadies on medicines some 200 years back. Now they are being printed as books with the help of Tammilnadu Governemnt at Saraswathi Mahal, Thanjavur. In one of those olaichuvadies, he has written that paruththi paal which is extracted from paruththikottai and combined with gingelly oil, pasum paal and panam kalkandu is a good medicine for diabetes. This news was published in the tamil weekly called 'Dhinamai kadhir' this week.

Thanks Suhera Farook! I have gone through the article. I know that in many cities especially at Madurai the paruththi paal is available like this. But a relative from a village said that the paruththikottai used for this are not either cotton seeds or the ones which is being given to Cows. It is another plant which is growing abandantly in so many villages.
