Pesticides... It is not only colas, but anything that contains "potable water".

Why is the Indian Press BLIND?

a. Cola firms declare they use "potable water"

b. PFA (prevention of food adulteration act) does NOT include beverages in "food" (rule 65)

c. Sub-section A.01.01 in Appendix B of PFA does not even mention pesticides in beverages

d. PFA only specifies that "Potable water" is to be used in beverages. But then, "potable" itself, is not defined.

e. PFA allows 0.5 ppm arsenic in carbonated beverages, but only 0.01 (max. 0.05) ppm in drinking water.

See all relevant reports, test data, references, etc. at http://www.cseindia.org/

The colas, and the government is making a fool of the entire nation and the press is also silent.

There is NO hope for our country at this rate.
