Jesus was not crucified. The Jewish rabbi was not responsible for such crucifixion. The textbooks carry a lot of lies. Such books offend the sentiments of the religious leaders of Jewish religion. Martin Luther did not challenge the Catholic clergy. The textbooks carry a lot of lies. Such books offend the sentiments of both the Catholics and the Protestants. Socrates was not poisoned by the clergy who were alarmed at his popularity. The Christian clergy did not punish Galileo. All are lies. These are what the textbooks of our nation going to show in future if Mr. MM Joshi’s crowd is allowed to go unleashed.

The Canadian historians are fools. They have faithfully recorded how both the Anglophones and the Francophones used the native Red Indians to settle their scores. The supply of rifles for scalps is recorded in their textbooks with illustrations. They remind themselves very often of the past that they may not have to repeat it. There is no MMJoshi in Canada to enlighten them to bury the history and perpetuate the hatred.

The Chinese are fools. “The two nations must never stop discussing their history”, said President Jiang Zemin while referring to the enmity between China and Japan: “only thus can they hope to transcend it.”- The Hindu, December 27, 1998.

The way the Walloons suppressed the Flemings for generations have been recorded in the textbooks of the Belgians that both communities are able to start a new life with proper understanding of the past. The atrocities committed by the Walloon majority on the Dutch minority have not been excluded from the school textbooks. These details are available in the book, “Documents illustrating the history of Belgium –volume II” supplied to be by the Belgian embassy. “Flemings with little or no knowledge of French, and who had asked to be tried in Dutch, were tried and sentenced exclusively in French”. “The defendant’s lawyer was forbidden to plead in Dutch”. “A Dutch workman entirely ignorant of French had refused to sign a birth certificate drawn up in that language and was sentenced to imprisonment for his refusal”. (Page 148 –ibid) These facts are not buried and hidden. Because, the Belgians do not want to repeat their history. They desire and “hope to transcend it”. So, they “never stop discussing their history”. Fortunately, they do not have any MM Joshi that they are able to march ahead in the direction of peaceful coexistence.

David Crabtree quotes “history does matter. It has been said that he who controls the past controls the future”. Acton says, “A nation deceived about its past can be easily manipulated in the present. Those who write the history books mold the thinking and set the agenda of the next generation (and sometimes a number of future generations). For this reason, one of the first things insurrectionists seek to do is re-write history from their own perspective.” Acton also underlines the inevitable link between history, conscience and freedom. “To study history was to study the human race and a necessary exercise in the development of the conscience”. “Liberty was possible only through the process of history and experience and the benefit of judgment. Ultimately the advancement of freedom was possible only through knowledge of history”, says Acton.
God cannot change history; but historian can. And there are so many historians in India who believe that they are more powerful than God. After all, it is said in Mahabharatha, “the highest duty of a crowned king is to worship learned Brahmans; they should be protected as one protects oneself or one’s children, and be respected, bowed to and revered as if they were one’s parents. If Brahmans are contented, the whole country prospers; if they are discontented and angry, everything goes to destruction.”{Pages 64-65 Peep into the Early History of India – R.G. Bhandarkar}. It is said therein that
1. Even the real God becomes respected as God only if we agree to recognize it as such;
2. If we choose to de-recognise, even the real God would not be (respected as) God;
3. If we decide to do so, we can elevate even an ordinary thing to the status of God.
And that is the “strength” which impels Mr. Joshi to embark on the genocide of history, as he believes that he belongs to those who considered themselves more powerful than God.
