One day there was a discussion between the small bell and the big bell of a temple of Lord Siva. The small bell, the Chinna Mani, became so egoistic that it started taunting the big bell, the Peria Mani. But the Peria Mani protested.

PM: Don't be so egoistic Chinna Mani! I am much much bigger than you in size and strength.
CM: So what? It is true that you are 32 times bigger than me in size. The proportion is 3:97. Yet I am more powerful than you. You do not have so much power over the masses as I do.
PM: What do you say? People flock to the temple only because of the sound that emanates from me. They come to know of you only on entering the temple.

That 3 is more powerful than 97

CM: Maybe. But, I alone get the credit and the person who holds me alone gets the cash from the pockets of devotees. Does the man who toils in ringing you get any money from the devotees?
PM: Why not? He gets paid his wages every month.
CM: You are talking about regular wages. But that is paid to the man who rings me too. The question is whether the person who rings you gets paid extra everyday , that is , from everyone and that too throughout the day. My man gets paid that way.
PM: You mean your man is being bribed everyday by everyone.
CM: Oh, do not say that! It is not called as bribe. It is called as 'swarna pushpa'. Does anyone pay your man that way. You are therefore inferior in spite of your awesome size. Do accept it. There is no choice.
PM: Still, I find that the booming sound that emanates from me is much awesome and sonorous.
CM: Maybe. But, you can give sound only in one pattern whereas I can give sound in various patterns.
PM: I do not get it. What do you mean?
CM: See! You can sound only as Ding Dong because you are fixed to two walls through a beam. But I am in the hands of a man and he can swing me in any direction. That is why I make variety of noise. You may say, I sound like this, "Thinnu thinnu thinnu thinnu thinnu thinnu, thinnaa thinnu, thinnatti po'.
PM: Hah hah! But, I find that is in a lighter vein. To be serious. my sound is really awe-inspiring and attractive.
CM: So what? You are touched only by a man who has been classified as Sudra in the Hindu law. But, I am touched by one who has been classified as Brahmin. Do you know at least the link between the terms 'brahma' and 'brahmin'? Do not try to glorify yourself by telling facts. In India, facts do not count. Only the opinion built up by the 'brahmins' count. Indian opinion is, therefore, is never based on facts but on myths created by my man every day. He would be able to change the opinion of the others in any manner at any time to suit his convenience. The others would immediately change their conscience. That is why I say I can be swung in any direction while you can be swung only in two directions. Now you see the logic. I am touched by such a powerful man that I am entitled to be egoistic.
PM: Hey, what about the Poosaaris of various temples? Arent they touching you?
CM: Please do not divert the topic of discussion. Do talk of the HR&CE temples.
PM: But why? Even those other temples do yield a lot of income.
Who pockets cash is the issue

CM: You must notice one thing. In those other temples also during the period of annual festivals, my man occupies the place of the priest and pockets the special and substantial income. Your man is just standing aside and watching our man with envy. Our man is watching your man with amusement and pocketing the cash.
PM: Arey yaar! You seem to be right!
CM: You must know more. When my man enters those temples in which your man officiates as priest throughout the remaining portion of the year, he performs punyaasan to de-pollute the deity. Yet, your man and his compatriots do not have any sense of shame and do not question this atrocity committed by my man. You must, by now, be aware of the fact that your man does not have any sense of self-respect. How can you acquire prestige then in spite of the rich and sonorous sound you possess?
PM: But, why not your man touch me?
CM: He will not. If he uses you, he will not be able to be near the deity. That access is very essential for him to commit variety of social atrocities. He won't therefore leave me to your man, unless your man realises his folly and starts questioning.
PM: But, how come your man seems to be so powerful?
CM: Because, he is swinging the public opinion in any direction he wants, in the same manner in which he swings me in any direction.
PM: I am, still, not able to get it.
Hindu for this but not Hindu for that

CM: You know, Periyar, the self-proclaimed atheist, spearheaded the movement for making your man and the people belonging to his varnas, priests in the temples in which our man his men are officiating.
PM: Yes, Periyar said atheism was his principle but his demand to make Sudras priests was only to get share in the loot by the Brahmins.
CM: Yeah, at that time, our man said that as Periyar has declared himself to be a theist, he should not talk of the atrocities committed in the temples. But, now in the discussion forum thread No. 20154 (www.sysindia.com) they say that atheist is also Hindu. In that case, why did they then want Periyar to shut his mouth when he challenged the apartheid practised in the Hinduism?
PM: Is that what you call swinging in any direction according to the convenience of the moment. Yes, Yes. I find that they are the root cause of all the unrest in the society but they always become first to blame it on the others.
I am privileged but you are not. So,pay Jizya but be Hindu

CM. Much more. You see, when the Muslims invaded our man's ancestors occupied all positions of power. They even got exemption from paying Jizya under many rulers. They did not bother about the other subjugated classes who had to pay Jizya. But, now they take the subjugated people also into their fold in the name of Hinduism and set them against the Muslims.
PM: Then.
CM: The Bajrangis now want that the Christians must accept that there are various paths to attain God. They do not want the so-called homogeneity in religion as perceived by the Christians.
PM: Yes.
CM: But, the Sankaracharya calls himself 'Jagathguru' defying the so-called heterogeneous nature of religions. Why does he glorify himself that he is the guru for the entire Jagat implying that he is the guru of the Christians and Muslims too?
